Hi TCHD,
We appreciate you for trying out the new Nest Thermostat and are sorry to hear it didn't meet your expectations.
The Nest Thermostat has been designed to be set up and controlled from a single app, Google Home app with ease. You can control the temperature in the app or with your voice.
If the Nest Thermostat is changing temperatures by switching to Eco Temperatures, we recommend making sure that Eco Temperatures is not scheduled to turn on in the schedules. You can check this by selecting Thermostat in the Google Home app > Select Settings > Choose Schedules.
If a scheduled Eco Temperatures period is not the cause, then there are a couple of ways to adjust the Eco Temperatures so that the home temperature is still how you like it:
- You can change the temperature range of Eco Temperatures to a comfortable temparature range in the Google Home app. Here's how: Open Google Home app > Select Thermostat > Select Settings > Select Temperature preferences > Choose Eco Temperatures > Change the lower and upper limit to create the range you'd like the thermostat to stay in when you're away or when the sensors don't detect any activity.
- You can also change the behavior of your Nest Thermostat under your Home & Away Routines in the Google Home app. While you're setting up the routines, you can turn off the the setting that allows the thermostat to go into Eco Temperatures while you're away.
