I wish she had a little bit more sun coverage But overall I like it.

My husband put this pergola together by himself. I did help a little. It took some time because he had to build the concrete slab. We enjoy it very much.

This is a good pergola, but the looks of the trim pieces are horrendous. The trim pieces do not cover the anchors bolts and the top cap look incomplete. Easy to assemble and directions were good.

We had 3(at times, just 1) adults building this pergola. I moved all the parts from the garafe to the back yard so it made the build much smoother. It was fairly simple, even using the old fashioned booklet to build it despite there now being an app you can use which I did browse on occasion. Its got a nice weight to it so we do not plan to bolt it down to our new concrete patio. If we have a bad wind storm, we will just remove the cover. It took us(2 men and 1 woman) 4 hours to build and that included a lenghty lunch break and a couple small breaks. The main builder is a union carpenter so he got it done pretty quickly. We added solar string lights while we wait for the edison bulb solar string lights. We opted for the OZCO post bands to help prevent the wood from splitting due to rain as other reviews have recommended. They are pricey and somewhat hard to find but I found them for $37 each

We purchased this pergola in 2021 and needed to order a replacement canopy. The replacement canopy is not the one sold with the original pergola and looks like a tent that holds water on top of it. I have made several calls and have been told that the only replacement canopy is the one sold by Garden Winds and they can not do anything about it. Strange that they can sell a new pergola in a box with the correct canopy but can not replace the canopy with the original after your purchase.

I spent 15hrs over 3 days. The 1st day spent time staining/sealing beams. While drying unwrapped assembly of parts. I used the OZCO 6x6 Post Base Kit. I installed this pergola with assistance from my wife. Day 2 was getting the initial frame up and holding on its own. Recommend multiple ladders to brace post. Day 3 was completion including final touches. The post did have caps so covering the holes was not needed. I also added bungee cords to hold at the halfway point when needed.

Toiled for almost two years between a gazebo or pergola. Finally found something worth purchasing and satisfying. We get a lot of sun in our backyard. Wanted something with a metal roof but than thought about being in a warehouse where the sun just heats up the roof and you feel like your cooking. Went with the cloth top which provides ample shade and comfort. For the price I purchased this for it was a no brainer.

Bought in March 2021 sitting area next to 10-foor retaining wall. Used Thompson water seal initially and again just a couple of months ago. Great product, buying a second one for my BBQ/grill area (where the photo is taken from). I lightly wipe aluminum parts with WD40, again no problems. Does great during light rains.

This pergola was the chosen one. I must have looked at 300+ over the course of 8 months and this one was the choice. Quality of materials, overall size, aesthetics, and price made this better than the rest. You will not find a better pergola for the cost. Not will you find one that is easy to assemble and sold functionality. Definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a Pergola under $1500.

Took sometime to assemble and u do need 3 extra hands

This pergola was absolutely the best choice for our patio. It's not to big and not to small and is very sturdy. Our concern was will it survive high winds. The post are not solid solid wood however they are heavy enough to keep it in place and we also have the option to secure it to the concrete. THe only con I would give is the sun shade could be a little darker but overall I love it!

Lag screws that came with it sucked. Had to use larger size to attach main frame to the posts. Other than that, it’s pretty good.

This pergola assembled nicely. Several of the beams did have some splits after sitting up for a day, but the company shipped us new ones quickly and efficiently. We love the sling shade and how easily it can be pulled from one side to the other! I do wish the sling shade had an easier way to get it off to prepare for bad weather/winter, but overall we love it and would recommend it to anyone!

The cedar main posts all have cracked in the 1st week. Terrible design.

I had to figure out a way to salvage the cover because of that cheap material that deteriorated do the sun damage after only one summer. I removed all the light material at the edges, it peeled right off. I folded up the straw like over the end rails then i used Zip ties every 12 inches and it salvaged the cover. Hope this helps the do it your selfers out there.

Rep said warranty doesn't cover replacement. The whole canopy riped apart from wind damage. After $1200. We just purchased it 9 months ago! You would think it would be more resilient or they would at least cover it. Never buying anything from them again.

Great product--but read the other reviews. We followed all the advice. Natural cedar stain prior to assembly, pre-drilled holes, post bands near top (Ozco brand w/towel hooks one side-Plant hangers the other). We elected to place guide tubes on only one side of canopy as the other side opens only a couple of feet from the sliding door off our deck to the house. The side near the door, we tuck the canopy up under the cross beam. Nice wide opening out of the house! Purchased cool LED lighting. A couple good Chicagoland storms--no issues. Will store canopy for winter.

It's a nice looking pergola and the sling canopy makes it special. It assembled very easily. the BILT instructions on my phone were helpful along with the printed instructions it came with. I had no assembly troubles. I needed my son's assistance only for a few steps. The quality looks pretty good for a product from China. I've seen knocks on this where people complain the posts split shortly after assembly. Some complained as soon as three weeks after assembly. I took the time to re-drill all pre-drilled holes and pre-drilled all holes for screws that were not pre-drilled. That and I was careful not to overtighten the screws into the wood. After all, it is hollow cedar, so you have to be careful. I also bought and installed Ozco 6x6 post straps at the recommendation of another person who posted a positive review. Little expensive at $50 a pop (times four) but is worth the investment. See attached pic. I didn't install the decorative trim below the curved supports. They seemed like leaf and debris traps that would drizzle staining water down the post. Also snow and ice would build up in them in the winter. I think it looks better without. Additionally, I didn't like the post mounting brackets that came with the pergola. I went out and bought Ozco OWT Laredo Sunset 6x6 post bases and installed them in place of the provided mounting bracket and cheezy cedar covers. See attached pictures. Another knock on the pergola is the inability to quickly remove the canopy. That is a bummer. I live in northwest NJ where high winds are frequent and the winter is significant. I modified the canopy hold down by doubling the plastic guide tubes. The first is installed where it belongs originally. The second is adjacent to it, inside (between the outter original guide tubes). Now, the poles are easily removed as the push buttons that were used to lock the canopy in place are used instead to keep the canopy tubes in place. It works great! Now, just press the button, push the tube down, release from the upper gude tubes, slite the tube up again and remove. Do so for all four posts and the canopy is free in minutes without removing a screw. The pergola has been up three weeks now and no splits. Praying it stays that way. Over all, very happy with the product, its appearance, and its quality (for the money).

Easy to assemble. Looks nice and made well. Love the way it makes my deck look fabulous.

Been looking at tge pergola a couple years now. Finally decided to get it. Took my brother and I 5 hours too asseble. Directions simple and straight to the point. Beaufiful addition to my deck. Love it.

Overall I am very pleased with this product. It arrived in great shape, no damage, all parts were there. Personally I thought the 5 x 5 post were too bland so I adapted. I routed three flutes on all four sides stopping below the arched braces. There I added a molding to give it more character. The brown stain wasn’t to my liking so I stained the wood parts with a solid white Behr stain. I think my version looks great. The assembling was very easy and the BILT app helped visualize the assembly process. I have since added lights… I highly recommend this item. Now time will tell as to how it will perform through the New England weather changes.

We like the way it looks and feels! The quality of the parts, the precise pre-drills and easy to follow assembly directions makes this product a winner. My son and I put it together in three short sessions easily anchoring it to the concrete patio floor. We briefly needed a third person to hold one set of legs up while attaching it to the other set, but it could've been done with just two. All the parts worked perfectly and nothing was missing. Great, great, value.

Putting aside all the issues I had in getting the item delivered, the pergola comes in two boxes weighing over 200 pds each. Its a good looking piece and if it were designed with some common sense it would've been a keeper. Sturdy as it feels it has every issue imaginable waiting to happen; from rotted beams to torn canopy. The claimed "Cedar Wood Posts" are actually made of compressed wood with glued cedar laminate; the seams are the cause of the wood splitting when drilled into. Metal brackets with poking ends connecting the sides tear the canopy (see pics); metal covers surrounding only part of the beams on top accumulates water which will cause the beams to rot in due time. The SET UP: They claim 3 hrs w/ 2 people. NOT!!!! It took 3 people and 2 days (6+ hours each day) so a total of about 12 hours. The instruction make absolutely no sense. I will NOT recommend this Pergola to my worst enemy. Don't be fooled by the store display. It looks really nice and sturdy, but it is a nightmare waiting to happen!

After reading most of the reviews, I decided to purchase the pergola with 6 x 6 post bands added (sold seprate at home depot) to prevent wood splitting. See pics

The finished product turned out to look amazing. The instructions were very helpful, and the pieces went together like a huge puzzle. I’m hopeful that the pergola can withstand the elements. I’ve had people over and the finished product continues to draw rave reviews.

Looked at many pergolas before decidng on this. Most have bad reviews. Packaging shipping: It is amazing how much engineering that went into this. Wood in one carton all metal in the second. Not one scratched or damaged part. All tightly packed. Assembly: Take your time and follow the instructions. They are clear and comprehensive. Do not rush it. Finished product: My wife and I both like it very much. It enhances the rear of the house and patio and provides the shade we wanted. Endurance: Only time will tell but having done this before it appears to be a good investment.
