Product is a great value and I actually managed to set it up myself (although this really is a two person project) very happy with the purchase

The only positive is that I got this at the clearance price. We had to return the first one because the locking clips were broken, then when we got the second one home, the last part that we checked, the locking clips were broken on that one too, so we had to go back to Home Depot a second time and grab the clip that wasn't broken from the gazebo that we returned the first time. We were finally able to put it together, my husband noticed one of the poles didn't have a hole to lock it in place, then the poles were too long for the top canopy and it ripped two of the pockets. When we were putting up the netting, we noticed there was a tear in the netting! At this point, we were over it, and just accepted it; thankfully, as long as we keep the curtains tied back, the tear is not visible. All in all, what should have been a two hour job at max, turned into a days work. The customer service was great, but the product itself was a disappointment.

I’am surprised this gazebo has held up considering I live in a place where the wind gets treacherous, I’am just writing this review after this long cause i wanted to see the end results after a year or two, think it held up pretty good, bolted it down to the concrete so it wouldn’t blow away. I put this gazebo together myself, that has to say something about how easy the directions are to follow but, then again I’m a very handy guy, don’t be afraid to give it a good try. After two years of use the only thing I see is the netting gets worn and holes develop, I think thats expected with how hard the wind blows out here in Lancaster CA, long as you bolt this sucker down it wont go anywhere, the frame is plenty sturdy and the canvas is durable. I eventually bought some extra curtains that I put up when company comes over to give it that nice look and to hide the worn netting, other than that I’ve gotten plenty use out this baby, great product.

It was a easy setup. And was pretty.. however that's where the good ends... all the bolt together aeras were weak. The feet on the legs were very week. It literally lasted two days... The first storm it was gone!! However my 30ft. Flag pole is still good to go...I honestly feel like home depot should refund me... I just haven't asked because I know that by the end of the conversation I'd get mad... gonna attach photos... buying this would be like lighting 3 $100.00 bills on fire..

Easy setup, nice high entrances, good quality so far in the first few days.

This only lasted 8 months. It is not rust resistant poles have snapped. After one week the curtains tore even though there was nothing around them to get caught in.

Product was very easy to assemble it only took my husband and my daughter an hour or so to sort it out and connect it. It has weather rain storms wind storms no problems at all. Looks great the only issue is we did notice a little rust after the first couple rains. So we sprayed it down with Rust resistant paint and it’s fine.

We received this a little over a month ago. It came very well packaged and protected. The instructions could have been better, it took a couple of hours to get it put together. Our worry is that with the high winds we have here I don’t think it will last but a few seasons. We have already had quite a few very very very windy days here and so far so good.

We opted for this gazebo since it would’ve costed too much to put a roof on our 26 x 10 foot deck. We are very disappointed after spending over $400 for this gazebo only to find out there were two cuts in the canvas rooftop that we noticed, which was not our doing and after spending about 3 hours assembling it, when putting this last piece of the gazebo up. I am hoping to find some kind of patch for it that will match the color of the canvass and will stop it from leaking. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

This is a perfect size for our 6 person patio dining table, creates good shade from the sun and lets the breeze in while keeping the bugs out. There is plenty of space to get around the 67” x 41” table even when all the chairs are being used. From May through October, our dining area moves outside to our patio and we enjoy eating out each night and entertaining with friends. Unfortunately wasps, mosquitos, moths and the dreaded no-see-um gnats also enjoy hanging out on the patio and we normally end up using a combination of bug spray, citronella table lamps and bug zappers to keep them at bay (although the local wasps who show up to our BBQs tend to be somewhat immune to these measures which often makes us retreat to eat indoors). This gazebo is a perfect fit for our patio area and the 1mm netting on the sides should be small enough to even keep the gnats at bay (gnats are between 1-3mm in size). There is even a hook in the center that you can use to hang a light from to make sure there is enough light inside the gazebo if you are using it after dark. Each side of the gazebo has a full length double sided zipper and elasticated tie backs which allows the netting side panels to be tied up out of the way. This is particularly useful if you need an entrance to carry food and drink in and out for entertaining and also for reducing the wind resistance of the sides if the weather gets stormy or windy. It didn’t take the neighbors too long to notice it once it was assembled and we’ve already had several compliments over how nice it looks and how roomy it is. Assembly is definitely a two person task and took us about 2 ½ hours to complete. Hampton Bay uses the BILT app which allows you to download an animated ‘how-to’ video before you start and I can recommend this. I didn’t have any issue with parts fit or finish and the bolts and other parts that come with it are clearly labeled in blister packs. They even include a couple of 10mm wrenches however if you have a power screwdriver and a 10mm nut socket, I can strongly recommend using that instead. The paper instructions that come with it are also easy to follow. During assembly, there are a few tips that I can suggest – (1) during assembly, put each of the roof brace end pieces (part D3) in their second notch as this will make it easier to fit the roof fabric. You can then push each of these to their third notch once the roof fabric is in place to tension it. (2) when fitting the top panel of the fabric roof don’t forget to tie the fabric strips to secure the bug screens in place. (3) when you start the process of hanging the side netting, start with the sides where the two support poles are widest apart by matching up the velcro tabs that secure the netting to the support poles as it is very easy to get these in the wrong place which then involves unhooking the panels and relocating the netting panels. After assembly, you can secure each of the support poles to the ground using the supplied 7” long spikes. Since we put ours on a concrete patio however, I made some weights by pouring cement into a 5 gallon plant pot and adding a ¼” eye bolt to each one. This will allow us to physically tie the gazebo to these weights to protect it from the stronger Santa Ana winds that arrive in the Fall. The gazebo is made in China has a 2 year warranty for normal residential use which is great as I suspect that the strong UV from the sunlight that we get almost all year here in Southern California may cause the fabric covers to age quickly. It is good to know that if they fail in the first couple of years that they are covered under warranty.

We were looking for a different shade setup on our deck and this has been working out pretty well. We live on an old farm field that was clear cut decades ago, so shade is a scarce resource while we wait for all these trees to grow. The standard patio table umbrella does an ok job but someone is always left out in the sun no matter how we angle it. We set this up on top of the deck (over the table) and so far the sun has only been an issue before 7A and after 7P when the angle is low enough to hit you right in the eyes. I wish the side panels were shade panels, something that you could zip over one or two panels to keep more sun out - that would be a game changing feature. We didn't even bother hanging the mosquito netting up because that's not much of a concern out by us. That said, the top roof only connects to the bottom roof with four string ties, so if keeping the bugs out is a requirement for you I seriously question if this would do it (a zipper up there would make more sense). It will feel a little flimsy as you're putting it together but it's design to have a little "slop" in the joints to make connecting some of the parts easier. The canopy cover puts tension on the whole thing and sucks it tight. I LOVE how the canopy extensions are adjustable. It made it super easy to install, just put the canopy on loose (lowest tension setting) then walk in a circle and add tension until you don't need any more by extending the arms out. Total assembly was maybe 4 hours by one person with an injured hand. About half of that is "one time only assembly" for the structure and the other half was canopy and roof assembly that you will have to put up and take down every season. You can use a 10mm socket on all the bolts. You'll create four wall panels and 4 trusses, then you bolt them together into an octogen shape. The roof assembles with spring clips (like a tent or pop up canopy) and is removable if needed. The top roof would have to come off to get the middle canopy off. The feet have holes and can be spiked into the ground or screwed into the deck in our case. That said, we had some 12MPH winds the first night it was up (before we screwed it down) and it didn't move an inch. I would guess it weighs 100-150 pounds assembled, and that plus the gap between the roof segments, would take some SERIOUS wind to lift. Until I have the time and money to make a real screened in patio, this will do just fine, and is a great solution.

Pros: - Looks great! - Price - Relatively sturdy - it's still holding up after a few pretty severe storms. - Mosquito netting is very secure - flaps cover the open areas on both sides making it very difficult for bugs to get in. - Very water resistant - a few drops may seep through during heavy rains, but otherwise everything will stay dry. Cons: - Assembly was a bit more difficult than I imaging your typical four-sided gazebo would be. Not terrible though. - After owning for about two months, we're already starting to see a bit of rust at the joints of the small beams on the side. - Beware of wind storms!! We've started with four weight bags on the legs and just bought four more because it still moved on us. - Don't plan to take down the canopy during storms as suggested. It was really hard to get on and won't be coming off. So this is definitely the best gazebo we found for the price. However, after having it for about two months, we do slightly regret not getting something a bit heavier duty. In east Tennessee we get a lot of wind, and if it isn't weighed down, this will take off. Patio furniture around the edges or weighted bags on the legs will work fine. Plus, as I mentioned, there's already a bit of rust showing on it. If price is your main limiting factor, this is a good gazebo sure to last at least a few years. I'm not yet sure how permanent it will be.

I bought thus twice and both times the little buttons that connect pole to pole multiple were broken both times I purchased. I return for my money back. I hate it because I really like the look of the canopy. ? ? ?

To many parts broken waited 7 days to be replaced was sent wrong ones I don’t think anyone on the phone has seen one except in a computer, putting one together should be mandatory Also, I would probably increase ratings by 90% for product

Time consuming but the video helped a lot. Take your time and be sure the parts are placed as they should be. Waiting to see how it does in high winds.

Too many broken clips

5 poles bent and had to be replaced, during installation. Canopy ripped on and away from the seams in several places. Spoke with customer service at the time and poles were sent at cost. However, I was not willing to pay for a new canopy, per reps offered solution, since the product was defective out of the box. Box had been discarded once confirmed all pieces were included, hence, unable to return.

With two or more people was easy to put up. Holes in poles didn’t align and one or two had to be drilled. 5 poles bent and had to be replaced during install. Tent ripped at seams and enlarged beyond seams in several places within two days. Called customer service who promptly responded, paid reasonable cost of replacement for poles. Request for replacement of canopy was met with a $250 cost so I declined. Disappointed that Home Depot did not stand by this product. Inferior quality product

In theory it’s lovely, but pieces didn’t fit or were broken

Poor quality. Within the first 30-45 days we had to replace 5 section poles. Top ripped at the seams in more than one place but because customer service said it would be $250.00 we declined. It was brand new. Had we kept the packaging would have returned

We removed the canopy & screen the first year & stored inside...the canopy tore in multiple places when we went to put it up last summer...no replacement available...this was only up from May-September; live in the Northeast in mild weather & in direct sun maximum 3-4 hours a day...very disappointed in the quality of canopy & the fact it cannot be replaced after only 2 years of use!

The Bilt assembly instructions are nice, but whoever created them surely has never assembled the unit as specified. How in the world is anyone supposed to attach the 'upper roof' by walking it over the lower roof and attaching it? You'd need 7' arms! We fed it thru (vertically) from inside, repositioned it horizontally and snapped it in place. The gazebo itself is nice. We'll see how it holds up to Michigan weather.
