This shed kit arrived earlier than expected at my local Home Depot. During loading on my trailer they damaged one pallet. Didn't damage the product thankfully. Instructions were easy to follow if you have the technical and a construction background. Definitely not a weekend job to put it up by yourself. Start to finish took me about 3ish weekends all long days. I'm using this as a "deer camp cabin". Fully insulated and drywalled with solar lighting. Love all the extra windows. Very happy with it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shed came in two, heavy 4 x 8 pallets. Unloaded and inventoried everything. With everything accounted for, began to build. Instructions were mostly clear with only two situations that left me unsure how to proceed. A handful of boards were too warped to use - so I ended up having to purchase four eight foot long 2 x 4s. The shed is extremely solid and has a great look to it. They say you need 3-4 containers of caulk - I used 6! They say you need 3 gallons of paint - I only needed one, plus another two quarts for trim. I also used 6 packages of roof shingles, plus another pack of starter shingles for the edges. It feels extremely sturdy and I believe will last a long time!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Came as described in two flat packs. It is wise to take the time and coordinate all the parts. We prepainted everything and used painters tape to label all the part letters on each piece. We even marked the step order for the trim pieces 1, 2, 3, etc to make it simple to match the instructions. We watched the mini video's and that helped also to have a visual to go with the written instructions. It was great no cutting, all went together as instructed. The shelf, bench and loft great extras! The windows that open are just perfect for the type of shed and it's wonderful to have a view of the yard from inside and be apart of the action. I did not need the bench and repurposed it as an above head shelf, like the loft. We have a tall family 6'3", and plenty of headroom, kid's already wanting to take it over as a hangout space. Took two of us to raise the walls and roof. Otherwise, was able to do a vast majority of the work with one person. With the pre-painting, doing work solo and extra work on our foundation (had to level about a foot on one side) it took about four solid days to complete. It really was a much better solution that doing a shed from scratch, no material waste, the way it was packed and delivered no palets to dispose of, the packing cardboard can be easily recycled as weed cover for organic gardening, only the plastic wrap had to be disposed of. WIsh we did sooner! Great value!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Most affordable way to get a large roomy shed. The high ceiling and dormer create lots of storage options for shelves and hanging items. I was able to fit a large snowblower, 2 lawnmowers, 2 miter saws, a table saw, a generator, and all my other yard care items with plenty of room leftover. I found the instructions easy to follow and only made slight adjustments to a few pieces of the precut lumber. Everything was good quality and accurately cut. Some carpentry experience will make the job easier. Not to mention a few extra tools like an air compressor and nailer make it easier too. I did it by myself (55 male) with only a little help standing up the walls. I pre painted all the exterior walls and trim and that is recommended too. I have plans to add a 200w solar panel to run lights and charge batteries. Cheaper and easier than running 110 from the house.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased in May and started building on June 1st. Finished outside including roofing and painting by June 30th. A couple of areas we end to overcome: A few of the 2x4s had enough of a bend they were replaced. The jig to build the dormer rafters didn’t provide the correct angle. We built the dormer wall and use the floor to create the effect of having the 4 walls up. Would suggest having pipe clamps handy, they were used in many situations including getting the four walls plum. We use cinder blocks and 4x4s to build the foundation. If you are planning to finish inside, you’ll need more 2x4s for framing that drywall wall can attach to. This has been a fun project!!! Mark The jig to build the dormer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I began working on the foundation for this shed my neighbor was a little upset that I was adding a shed and thought it would be an eyesore. While the project was underway she began to realize the shed was actually going to compliment the neighborhood. Now that it is complete she stops over almost daily to tell us how beautiful it is. I used the recommended paver and skid system for the leveling of the shed location. I spent about 40 hours building the shed for the most part (not including the skirting and landscaping) as a one man crew. I did have a little help lifting the gable ends and standing the walls. I thought the instructions were well written and very detailed but you will need some basic building skills in order to build this shed. I would recommend unpacking and organizing everything before you begin. Not all parts are labeled but it is easy enough to find them with a tape measure if everything is organized. Staying ahead of the instructions will allow you to assemble several components in a garage if weather is not cooperating. I would also recommend painting all of the trim and undersides of the overhangs before putting them in place. Especially the undersides of the dormer overhangs. If not you will find yourself in some very awkward positions on a roof while trying to paint them. Overall I would highly recommend this shed if you are willing to take your time with it and enjoy receiving compliments on a beautiful shed. It was a very rewarding project. Dan

Waited two weeks for replacement dormer rafters. They finally arrived .. Incorrect rafters were sent. I received the eave side rafters Luckily I didnt wait two weeks for incorrect parts. Once the dormer wall was up , it was easy to find the correct angles that the rafters were supposed to be. Now I have to call again because there is a damaged window that was not noticed due to being in plastic. Appears that the ratcheting strap or the window was not in a good spot

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Took two to construct over 6 days with an average of 5 hours per day. One needs to have some basic construction or carpentry background. All kit items are marked well, all hardware included and instructions are straightforward (to someone with a good handyman skill set. Final product is a high quality shed utilizing quality lumber. I had someone install shingles and the painting of the shed will soon commence. Excellent week long project.

Let me start with , I have built a shed from plans before. Decided to go this route because it seemed like it would make life easier. It has done just the opposite. I gave one star because the delivery driver was nice to talk to. It ends there because he smashed one of the bottom OSB 4x8 for the base. Customer support said we don't ship that , handle it on your own and send us a receipt. Inventory took forever since most of the components are not marked. Started to build the dormer rafters. Angles were way off. Had to send pictures to prove it wasnt me. Turns out it is a known issue , and they are finding this out as the sheds ship. Three days later I was told that the parts are being expedited as this their fault. This has been going on since last Wednesday , today is Tuesday. They told me yesterday that parts were shipping FedEx ground, no one can provide tracking info though. Today I was told the order was open and not shipped. I will be calling tomorrow to see about having someone come pick up this mess. This is not how a company should communicate with customers. Every time that I call, I ask if the call notes can be updated , because every call is starting over...I dont like leaving negative reviews , but this is warranted. I will update if things ever progress Photo shows error with angles

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this just about six weeks ago. It took me four weeks part time to get it all up and running from foundation to final trim really nice. I have a few tips: Be sure to pre-paint all of the trim pieces, the edges the sides, and the face before you install on the unit otherwise you’re going to be taping a lot. I used five way shingles not three but it’s still the same amount of coverage about 200 ft.². The screws in the kit, especially the 3 inch are not great. I went to a star bit 3 inch instead, much better. The order in which things are laid out, especially in the second book can be different I found. Do what makes sense for your environment! It was a fun project and the results are pretty amazing. Everybody loves it. Good luck!

I had help from some friends and we had it completed in about 3 days. On the 4th day we did the shingles and drip edge on the roof. All the parts were well labeled and very accurately cut. The finished product was good looking and after paint it was a great accessory to our backyard. Thank You so much for a very professionally produced product.

make sure you have extra 2x4s because most of them will be twisted, busted, split or just serious damaged that it is unusable! Just started on the base! afraid of what will come!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thought and assembled over two weekends this winter and couldn’t be happier with the outcome. I elected to have a concrete pad poured instead of using the kit provided flooring for a more permanent install. The parts were all cut perfectly to dimension. After reviewing the manuals and organizing the parts by breaking down the pallets and sorting the pieces construction went very quickly. All the hardware you need is provided, but I found it much faster to use a nail gun and so I purchase nail belts from the local hardware store. All in, it’s a good quality kit with detailed instructions. Just need to paint when the weather allows and I’ll be showing this off to all my buddies. Highly recommend!

Bought this kit as a reliable, weather-proof starter shell for a tiny cabin project. The explicit instructions (two volumes!) and grade A materials made site preparation and design modifications very straightforward. Structure readily accepted R-13 and R-19 insulation with interior siding to yield a cabin that works down to 15 degrees (so far). Square corners and burly design were an excellent starting point.

She said she loved the shed upon completion, but just wished it had more storage than the 4 ' Lofts.......that's when I made a few upgrades. Added a second floor from 6' off thr floor, just above the doors, put in stairs, and Wal-Lá additional storage!

The instructions were easy to understand and follow, along with the materials required at each step. The materials are of good quality. My only critique would be to include the instructions in the first pallet (2 pallets came stacked) to help with inventorying materials as they suggest. We just love it and can't wait to work on the inside.

It’s nice looking and something more appealing to the eye than your basic box with a top or barn type garden shed. I did modify it somewhat by adding thicker trim at the corners to accommodate the eight inch lap siding over the top of the provided primed OSB siding. The lap siding was added to give a similar appearance as our house to meet neighborhood covenants. Materials seemed to be all decent quality. The sticks were all straight and not twisted or bent. The coded markings on a lot of the materials was nonexistent, not legible or hard to find. Be prepared to sort, search and measure. Definitely a two person project for most aspects of construction. Assembly instructions, in two booklets of 120 pages, are easy enough to follow however the second booklet was not included in my materials package. Contacted Back Yard by phone and the instructions were sent by email same day.

Shed is absolutely beautiful - will say this is definitely a 3-person job. My brother has remodeled his home and his experience was crucial … one suggestion- I would have buyers purchase the 10’ and 12’ 2x4s instead of toeing 2 segments together - that is what we ended up doing … the instructions were spot-on … shingling around the dormer was tricky but we got thru that. We painted everything before assembly then only touch up is needed.

I had a shed already on the property but wanted to put up a "she shed" for the wife. The shed will take you longer to put up than you think but the end product is very nice. My wife, daughter and all their friends that have seen it love it. One is even talking about getting one just like it. I have never built a shed by myself or roofed anything before. I watched a lot of youtube videos of other people putting up the same shed and it helped a lot.
