Worked like a charm! Got two bunnies first night traps were set. Exactly what we were after

I had to rid my lawn/flowers of rabbits and the cage was the answer. Two small amounts of cabbage and apple added resulted in 6 rabbits and 3 squirrels in a 2 week period.

The trap does exactly what is expected

A very efficient and humane trap. Worked great for squirrels. Easy to set and with one door, the animal gets entirely in the cage so more efficient in keeping the animal in the enclosure. Peanut Butter worked well for squirrels. I put a wrap around the outside of the cage where the bait is on the inside. I found the squirrels were reaching the bait from the outside of the cage. Good and efficient product.

Good quality and easy to use!

Design works (thus product recommended), but some quality flaws (thus 2 star rating). FIRST: Handle chrome screw fell off immediately, unable to re-attach. Absolutely no support from Havahart (Woodstream Corp) toll-free numbers, email and website. Handle could potentially dislocate, exposing human to animal, and I trapped an extremely vicious one ready to bite. SECOND: No mention of sanitizing trap after use in the instructions, only found this on their website. Definitely necessary due to urine, disease, pests, fur, etc. contamination. Most of the trap is galvanized, but some minor parts are not, and they rusted after using the recommended bleach solution. Again, product quality issue. TIP FOR USERS: The animal I trapped was clever, it initially poached bait from the sides/back, never entering the trap. Perhaps it learned from previous experience. Surround the trap sides/back with flower pots, so animal must enter to reach bait, and the trap will work as designed. ANOTHER RELATED NOTE: I received my online order from Home Depot within 24 hours. I was surprised, I did not request next day delivery. Box was previously opened, possibly a returned item. But design works and would buy again if product quality improved.

Trap works for squirrels, highly recommended. Trigger is stiff and could use improvement to close trap with lighter touch, but work with it. Baby squirrels sat on trigger and it did not close, but I found another way to get them in the trap. Had tried the 2 door Havahart (not recommended) which is in stock at HD stores. Returned it. 2 door trap door closes by gravity, ie simply falls when triggered. I watched two squirrels go in and trigger the door, but the door hit them in their rear, and they backed out easily.

Mechanics of trap is not ideal for capturing brown squirrels. Screw down adjustment and size of touch pad appear to be at odds resulting in too many missed opportunities thus far. Disappointed after using multiple baits as recommended with poor results.

Caught 2 rabbits first two weeks in use. Apples did the trick. Trap is SUPER easy to set, and release...

Caught nine squirrels, and a large rat, who have all been relocated to a more rural location. Trap is very easy to use, effective, and didn’t harm the squirrels.

Since receiving my trap I have removed 14 squirrels from my property. It works!! Just a hand full of black oil sunflower seeds does the trick. They cannot resist them!! This is a high quality trap and couldn't be easier to set. My first trap finally gave out after six years and a multitude of squirrels.

Maybe I have the smartest squirrel on earth, but he never went in the trap. He reached through the wire and retrieved the bait. He did snap the trap once from the outside. I did see a Flicker enter the trap, and grab a peanut but they aren't heavy enough to trigger the trap. I'm not saying this trap is worthless, I am just saying that it certainly did work for my squirrel.

easy to work, now to catch the varmit

Bought this trap to catch squirrels that are doing a lot of damage to my home. Bait and placement are on me and some locations worked better than others but the mechanism of the trap itself works like a charm.

Works great. Very easy set up and release.

This trap is supposed to have adjustable tension for the panel that the animal steps on. The door will not stay open unless the tension is such that the squirrel I am trying to catch zips in, grabs the treats, and is out the door. The first set of crackers with peanut butter on them were taped to the floor on an index card - he got the whole thing out of there. The second set were attached to the upper back of the cage on an index card with twist ties. The trap was closed with him nowhere in sight and one cracker - which he got out of the twist tie - halfway out before something spooked him. I need to find a decent trap and this is definitely not it.

Very good trap, already caught 4 rabbits with it that were coming in the yard under the fence. Its easy to set and the sensitivity adjustment helps for catching light weight critters. Great product!

I've tried to relocate some pesty squirrels with other smaller traps and the squirrels were always able to remove the bait without getting caught. I was skeptical a different trap would work but I caught almost a dozen squirrels in one afternoon with this trap. It may be because the medium size trap is large and deep enough to encourage pests to enter. I also made sure to never handle the trap with my bare hands to avoid getting human scent on it.

Although there are many live traps that look similar to the Easy Set, the Easy Set handle actually makes all the difference in the world. Releasing the animal without having to stand directly in front of the door makes it so much easier. Have successfully caught and released several skunks for relocation now.
