I have purchased a number cages over the years and not animal trapped. The Havahart Small Easy Set Live Animal Cage Trap worked the first time it was set.by catching a possum in my attic.

Caught the Rabbit that was eating my shrubs. The trap door was easy to open to let the Rabbit go miles away from our residence.

An abundance of grey squirrels in our neighbourhood since a few neighbours think it's cute to feed them. I have two of these traps and have had to get pretty creative since the squirrels often gain experience for a few visits to the trap(s) but now I actually "wire" peanuts to the sides and at the end of the cage. It's comical to watch them spot the bait and then trying to steal it from the outside. Attach at least 3 inside, be generous for their last bit of human-offered food before they get relocated to a park, sometimes even to the outskirts just past the city limits. Use long and sturdy twist-ties or light gauge steel wire, twist it around the center of the double peanut. Yeah it ends up costing me a lot in fuel to drive such distances but just the way it is. I used to drop them off at Kildonan Park but after a few hundred had been banished from my community, I felt that it wasn't fair to the residents by the park since my problem then became theirs. Squirrel Psychology: when you have a few in your neighbourhood, they're often the same ones for awhile. They defend their "zone" and when you kick them out, others move in and the cycle continues. When you introduce the whole bunch of different ones to a park like KP, it's a battle zone and of course all that food they stored in our neighbourhood, isn't easily found by the new residents. Every spring we have found hundreds of whole shell peanuts buried in our flower beds, under anything you can imagine and often under the hood of our vehicles, often on top of valve covers, in ducts etc. We keep our finds for baiting our traps. Nasty little hoarders as well as wreckers of nice lawns (they dig holes and leave their prize just below the surface). If you want your traps to fire quicker, fiddle with the mechansim in a few ways to get the hand of it. Don't forget to put down a dropsheet etc. inside your vehicle when transporting, they like to drop little nuggets and will leave some urine for sure. The reds chatter and the greys grumble and ours often sound like an earlier Bob Dylan. P.S. try to check on your traps often, squirrels can end up injuring themselves when trapped and we've witnessed a fair amount of skinned & bloody noses which really isn't fair to these poor creatures.

Perfect. 5th trap I owned, but none of the others come close to this one. I use it to catch squirrels. This trap, unlike others, easily sets by pulling back handle. Easily and safely releases animal. My go-to trap.

It took a few days to realize I had put food where they, 1-could not reach in and take it (clever little devils) and 2- set far enough back that they walk over the spring loaded thingamabob. So far, two squirrels and one young raccoon have been re-homed. One of each still to go before I have my deck to myself.This trap is so easy to release.Hard crackers smeared with peanut butter and dipped in birdseed or peanuts really did the trick.

Cage was too small. Cat walked into trap-ate the food--walked right back out never tripping the door. Thanks a lot--now I have 4 kittens to find homes for!!!!

Excellent animal trap.I put these in my attic with very little bait , and was able to catch squirrels in the first 2 days and release them at least 3 miles away SAFELY for squirrels and myself. was worth the purchase. Traps are super simple.Bait & pull back lever! #1 concern no bites or scratches!!

This live animal trap is solidly built, yet lightweight. Setting the trap is a breeze, just shift the handle. Transporting the squirrels was simple, no worries about them coming in contact with me! Releasing them a couple miles away was safe and convenient. I've had this trap less than a month and have successfully relocated 6 squirrels in 4 days! This trap definitely exceeds all my expectations! I wish I had taken pictures, I will when I put it out again after this bitter cold is over.

Only trap that works for us. Had tried the double sided one ...but never worked right! Actually have two of these and would recommend!

Easy to set up, but have not trapped squirrel for a month. only caught two possums.

The trap worked fine after I added weights to allow the average squirrel to trip the the trap. You could add optional weights to your trap. I used magnets.

Works like a charm! Sets very easily, and works fine to capture small animals such as squirrels and rabbits. Just what the doctor ordered!

Product worked as advertised but I learned trapping animals is ILLEGAL in Torrance, CA where I live and the HD store is located. I suspect its illegal in most California cities because the animal control officer was quoting state regulations.

This trap has worked as I hoped. Over the past weeks we have trapped 10 squirrels and our plants are growing nicely. A great investment.

Was easy to use. Caught a squirrel and released it in a park.

This cage was ready to set in place. All I did was add some bait and I caught 2 squirrels the first week that had been getting into my attic. Should have purchased this a long time ago.

Excellent.. not what I expected but was safe and released without harm my first opossum!!!New model much easier to work with.

The trap is well made, and should give many years of service. At first, setting the trap was difficult, but after a little practice, I am able to set it with little difficulty. Releasing the animal is simple. The cost was very reasonable.

The product claims to trap chipmunks but it doesn't. I weighed down the trap plate with washers to make it more sensitive to light weight animals., I tied a piece of apple to the top of the cage in the hopes that the critter would hop up and down on the plate to get to the apple. I smeared peanut butter on the trap plate. NOTHING worked! I can't get a refund because I trusted Havaheart so much I disposed of the box.I had an older model trap from Havaheart that worked well but one of my kids damaged it. I wish they offered that same trap again. Now I have a trap for squirrels, rabbits and rats; but they don't give me any problems. The chipmunks are making holes and tunnels in my backyard. Sorry, I'm very disappointed.

Tried the non E-Z version as well and both of these models needs to have a more sensitive trip pan mechanism. Squirrels in my neck of the woods are able to take bait without tripping the trap. May tweak it myself. Well built though like the other Havahart traps I've used just no mediated success with these.

This cage was sooo easy to use, easy to set and easy to release the squirrel that was caught.

This cage was suggested by a friend. Had trouble with those pesty squirrels. So I ordered this cage. From day one I have been satisfied . I have been able to relocate nine so far. I would suggest this to any one with the same problem.
