This is the perfect tool to remove popcorn ceilings and well worth the investment to do it yourself. The key is to make sure the ceiling is moist enough and this tool will remove popcorn like it is butter. I would recommend for DIYers.

Very easy to use and get results!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wish I had used the ceiling texture scraper with other ceilings. This tool made the project go fast and easy! Wanted some texture to blend drywall imperfections so the scraper was the perfect tool!

Exelent...!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am always doing DIY projects on my own initiative but I have never had the opportunity to scratch a ceiling before but I have a small project on the way to remodel a room and I know that this tool (Celling texture Scraper) will be very useful to me. I wasn't sure how to use it but I read the instructions and did a little test and liked the results I got. I proceeded to wet an area of the roof and put a bag of groceries to start scraping and immediately the debris began to fall and I noticed that the bag was heavy, that is, I do not think that a garbage bag can be placed because this would make the job difficult. getting slower and heavier ... but otherwise I found the trial time fun and safe. When the project starts the ceiling area will be bigger and I hope to be able to carry it out expecting excellent results as in my test. I know that it will be very useful because I consider that it is the ideal tool for those purposes ..... good weight, firmness, and easy to maneuver ...

Caution...
I bought this product to remove the popcorn ceiling in my room. Unfortunately it did not serve well. I couldn't use it with the extension because I couldn't get the correct angle. And even with me going on a ladder and using it directly on the ceiling cause problems. I was left with dents in the ceiling. The scarper requires a constant pressure and angle to slide. Unfortunately the bag can get heavy pretty quickly and on top of that it is seemingly impossible to get get the angle for an even scrap. I wish I just had a tool to hold a bag underneath the area I was scarper. The whole reason I got this tool was to make less of a mess but I don't think the dents were worth it as I had to get putty to smooth out the dents after. Some people may have luck with this tool however I urge buyers to read all the reviews before deciding if this tool is for them.

Just use a taping knife and a tarp on the floor
Thought it was a cool concept, but this is one of the worst tools in action. 1. As the bag gets filled in it spills bits here and there so you’ll still need to cover the floor for easier cleanup. 2. Bag gets super heavy as it collects so you have to constantly empty it or need to waste a lot of energy holding it up and scraping 3. Way more force is required to do a simple task since the scraper is dull. Best advice i can give is get a spay bottle from the dollar store and spay it with some water, wait a bit. Then scrape it with a taping knife. Way less effort, bit messy but if you have a plastic tarp throw it on the floor for a easier cleanup and way less dust than dry scraping.

Overall it catches "most" of the material falling from the ceiling, smaller pieces may fall past the outside edges. I would recommend the front lip of the bag catch area be extended out further, maybe 1/4" - 3/8" to catch material when you have to level the scraper more. Bottom line though is,.. I don't have a whole lot of popcorn to sweep off the floor!

This worked quite well, once I figured out how to use it. No useful instructions are available. I used small binder clips to attach a plastic bag to catch the scrapings, which greatly reduced the mess. Don't let the bag get too full; empty it into a larger trash bag without removing it and continue working. Keep the blade as flat to the ceiling as possible and gradually increase the angle until it bites in. I used a spray bottle with water to loosen the ceiling coating. It works best on flat ceilings, as it floats over dimples, but it makes quick and clean work of the large flat areas. It can get within an inch or so of the edges; do these by hand. Pictures below, since I couldn't find a description of how anyone else attached a bag.
