Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, we apologize for any confusion regarding this product. This fan has been tested and approved for use in covered outdoor areas like porches and patios. As stated in the product description, the fan is damp rated for use in covered outdoor areas. It is not et rated and can not be directly exposed to water.
Beautiful fan that moved a ton of air

We installed this in our living room with a vaulted ceiling using a 36" downrod. The fan is beautiful and silent, due to the DC motor, and once you get above power level 2 (out of what seems like 8, but they say 9) it moves a LOT of air. The light isn't perfect, since it's more of a spotlight than it is a floodlight, and the dimmer does not have a broad range. The LED also isn't replaceable if it burns out, which is a downside. Also, sometimes when you turn the light off it turns back on immediately, but that's more of an annoyance. My big issue with this is the wobble. It's not a huge wobble, but I hate when a fan wobbles. I have quite a bit of experience balancing fans and I've not been able to improve this one. The result is that at one of the speeds it wobbles enough to make a clunking noise, but going up or down one setting makes it go away (not the wobble, but the noise). So other than the wobble we have with our fan we love it. It's beautiful, quiet, and moves a lot of air.

This is a good looking fan. I wish the light had a broader spectrum, meaning the bright was brighter and the dim was dimmer. Overall I am satisfied. I rated the quality down because the medal plate on the upper part of the fan had corrosion out of the box J(see picture). It was very disappointing. I had not taken it out of the box prior to my installer arriving. I was not about to send it back at that point.

Great ceiling fan and LED light for large rooms with over 9,000 cfm of air movement on high speed. Adjustable speed and dimmable light via a nice remote. The 3 blade design is similar to an airplane propeller for the aviation fans.

The fan is excellent. Very attractive and appears to be well built. It puts out a surprising amount of air flow, which is exactly what I needed since used outside in S. California and it gets hot. We love to sit outside and because of this fan, we have enjoyed many days outside where prior it would have been too hot (we had another fan that was useless!). The remote has a bunch of nice features; however, I find the remote to not be very user friendly and that is the only reason I did not give it 5 stars. Bottom line, great fan, go buy it!

Was looking for a contemporary DC motored fan with an LED light fixture and this fit the bill. While it's a bit pricier than some of the other HD offerings, I'm very happy with my purchase. Fan is whisper quiet, remote is a bit more advanced than found on the cheaper models, and it was very simple to install. No balance kit but the fan has minimal wobble so it's not likely to be an issue for me.
