I have been so excited for this bookshelf to come! Once i took out the middle section, I noticed that the welding was horrible and it was super crooked. I hoped that maybe when I assembled it, it would straighten itself out. No such luck. It is still super crooked and wobbly and feels like poor quality for the price. I will be returning this weekend sadly. I am scared to buy another one and wait another 2-3 weeks for it just to have the same defect. I will be buying elsewhere for a new one.

I liked the look of the shelves and once it was put together, it was uneven and wobbly. In reading other reviews, I see comments about poor welding. The strangest thing after two years, is that one of the shelves shattered into a million pieces…just exploded. No one was home at the time that it happened, but just shocked that this occurred…there was nothing even near the weight limit of 50 lbs on the shelves.

Cute and serves its purpose. It's a little rickety and not worth the amount I paid though.

I ordered 2 and both had an incredibly terrible welding job. One was so janky the legs weren’t straight and the other had gaps in the plates where the screws went so it made it crooked after assembly. I think the quality department is blind.

Nothing aligned evenly, and when I asked for a replacement shelf, they declined it. Eventually my husband managed to still put it together and the final product was slanted... It could've been a truly beautiful piece, but just terrible terrible craftsmanship. Did not want to go through the hassle of retuning it but if I could go back in time, I never would've ordered it.

This was very easy to put together. The quality and durability is outstanding. Arrived very quickly and was exactly what I wanted. I never right reviews, so that tells you how great this product is.

What a piece of junk! On sale I paid $274 its not even worth $2.74. Its a tacky gold. It is also distressed which I wasnt expecting. I put the whole thing together(I hate returning things) which took forever with the amount of screws and it leans to the left. I would have to rig it and anchor it to the wall and even then it wouldnt be perfectly straight. This is getting returned! I ordered a similar product from another company for half the price, pretty gold, easy assemble, straight and looks beautiful.

I bought two bookshelves. I love the way they look assembled but one came with the center piece completely crooked. We had to bend it to get it to align straight. The only reason I didn’t send it back was they couldn’t send only that piece, the whole box had to be repacked and all 83 lbs of the contents of the box rewrapped and put on my doorstep for pick up, a pick up that I had to be home for. In other words it was too much of a pain to return to China which is where the new one would be sent from per Home Depot.

Had high hopes for this but was disappointed. After taking over an hour or so to build it, the end result was the bookcase was defective and slanted to one side. By a lot. To this day still have been waiting for customer service to return it and refund me. I had to place a new order to receive a new one, there was no replacements or exchanges. The second one came in a timely manner but after putting this one together it is still crooked/slanted. It appears the part where they welded it together is noted to be crooked. So it throws everything off I’m assuming. Not as much as the first one but it’s annoying because it is a $300 item and it is a beautiful bookcase but for all of them to be slanted and defected it’s a shame and not worth the price.

I was very disappointed in the quality of this shelf. It has poor welds that made it hard to insert the glass without chipping away at the corners to allow the glass to fall into place. The welds on the middle rail were also crooked making the entire shelf lean to one side. I tried to bend them but was afraid to push to far fearing that it would snap. For the price of the shelf you would think they would have better quality checks before leaving the warehouse. The paint was terrible as well. It was more like a stain to give it an antique look. Plan for about 45 min to an hour for assembly and some frustration trying to make it close to square so it doesnt look like its going to fall over. Sorry HD fam. Overall I would NOT recommend this shelf to anybody. At least it was delivered much faster than originally stated. Had it been square I would have given it a 4 out of 5 so maybe i got unlucky with mine. If you purchase this and you put together the first couple steps and its clearly not square I suggest deciding right then and there if you are ok with it being that leaned over before spending the next hour assembling the rest of it. Who knows you may be ok with it or you might be able to bend your into place better than mine. mine was about 1/2 inch leaned over further at the top from the bottom if that helps with perspective. Sorry I really dislike writing reviews but this one deserved it...

Metal pieces were warped and wouldn't fit together. Gold leaf shed everywhere. Immediately returned product.

I like it! It’s not tall but it allowed for large frames to be placed on top which I liked. I also like the gold leaf and that the shelves are glass and I can see through it all.

A couple screws were cross-threaded, there are messy clumps of welding all over (two of which had to be filed down to make assembly possible), holes were misaligned, the glass doesn't fit properly into the shelf frames. I can't believe how over priced this is for such a shoddy piece of junk.

Looks beautiful in our space-definitely adds an elegant touch! I was looking at some similar bookcases on Wayfair but they were slightly smaller and more expensive. Home Depot furniture quality never fails!
