We just use wall switch to control the fan for last 12 months. Just pass one year, fan and light are out of work. Called Hunter customer service, she told me to change battery of my remote, and turn off my breaker for 10 seconds. When I press the remote, the remote work perfectly without changing battery. What’s wrong with my breaker? There’s electricity come into the fan as I test it. I couldn’t follow her instructions for troubleshooting.

Easy to assemble and looks great in three room of the house. Remote is a great feature and easy to use.

The glass shattered and remote doesn’t work very well. I’ve tried contacting support for Hunter but no responses.

I ordered this fan twice and both times the adapter piece was missing. Motor design doesn’t match what’s shown on the directions. Hunter customer service was no help. Required I ship the whole fan back and wait 7-10 days to receive new. Now I have a hole in my ceiling from the previously removed fan. Leaning towards going to another brand. Waste of everybody’s time.

had these for less than a year, bought 3 and non of them work properly. none of the remotes seem to recognize the fan. none of them dim anymore. very disappointing.

Fan looks good and works well. I can't find in the instructions about dimming the light, but if you hold the light button on the remote for long enough it does change the brightness of the light. It took a bit of time to figure it out after my kids were playing with the remote (I spent a couple of days with a very dim light).

Easy to install and use. Pretty quiet fan in Medium and Low speed.Generates lot of wind. Light can be dimmable. Since my ceiling is really low, I wish Hunter makes the light's cover a bit thinner.

The blades were a bit shorter than I expected (but true to online specs). Purchased two for new condo; installation was simple and the instructions are well-written. Air circulation is great and operation is super-quiet. My only quirks are the very odd-shaped remote and the light behavior. When turned on, it "ramps up" and then gives a flicker when at full brightness. The sequence only takes a second, but drove me nuts testing voltage to make sure it wasn't a wiring issue!

I bought 4 hunter fans -the Hunter Dempsey 44 in master bedroomhas been going on/off for a while, "learned to live with it"- now guest room Dempsey is FAILing too- power goes on/off. Hoping Hunter will replace or refund for product and install. Will have to replace before it starts a house fire while we are sleeping. Always loved Hunter did research-- purchased- paid to install - doesn't work. fun way to spend time & $$.. Hunter please fix- recall- replace - reimburse. or stop selling

A very good quality fan. Dependable for years. My last Hunter fan I had running for 18 years before I moved and it ran almost 24/7. This Dempsy model: Remote is akward in the hand by shape and is slippery smooth. Remote cradle is flimsy, too loose to hold the remote without knocking around. Reverse direction switch is inside the light kit, which means you have to take off the light globe and toggle the switch for Up or Downdraft. Cannot change direction with the remote; Very annoying. I'd like to see the "Hunter" logo outside the light kit made into a concealed switch for up and downdrafts or just integrate reverse mode with the remote like other models. It's the one reason I wanted a remote controlled fan. Kind of hard to do when you have 9' ceilings and need a ladder every time just to change the direction. Disappointing. Plus side, it has a clean sleak appearance. Smooth surfaces making it easy to dust off without needing to get into dusty crevasses. Great for low ceilings as low as 7.5' or 90 inches. Super quiet. Downdraft Highspeed has substantial airflow for a small room up to 12x12 and 1,440cu'. instead of speeds 1,2,3 it could be... Spring Breeze, Windy City and Take me to Oz. Light globe seems heavy and strong enough to withstand an accidental impact. The standard lamp "A or E" bulb Base Code socket allows me to use a bulb with a prefered colortone from any choice: soft white, warm, bright white, daylight. Whatever you like.

Beautiful to look at. Simple and elegant. We do not use the remote. We connected this to a slider switch, one side for the fan and the other for the light. Love it.

Installed this fan in a 3rd bedroom. Barely used it. I estimate it had 3-5 hours total use. The remote transmitter was replaced once under warranty. Fan was noisy and didn't work very well. It finally failed after 16 months. Called Hunter, they apologized and stated the 1 year warranty. I'm glad it failed and I replaced it with a cheaper, more quiet fan. This is my second fan. The first one I had for three years, no problems at all. It was killed by an electrical surge in the house - no fault of the fan. I found it great as a bedroom fan for a 10x10 room, but it would easily work for a larger room. Two things: Enable the dimmer by holding down the 0 button and pressing the light button twice. This makes the light much more functional. The manual doesn’t tell you this. Thanks to HD commenters for passing on this tip. Second: You can use brighter bulbs than they give you to make the light brighter, although enabling the dimmer mode will also brighten the light, so try that first. Love its look and use.

Horrible quality. In 2 months of use, one of the fan blades broke. The blade is made of card board like material. It’s a good looking item, but I wouldn’t waste money on this poor quality.

Love this fan. It's perfect in the center of the room at the foot of the bed. The remote is so convenient & also dims the light! It's quiet, low profile & the white blends nicely with the ceiling. Our electrician put it up so we can turn it off & on when we enter or leave the room. The remote is by the bed so we can adjust, turn on or off the light &/or the fan. We're purchasing another for the guest room. Totally recommend!

5th fan from Hunter that the reciever from remote doesnt work. Better save that reciept too becuase if you loose it, not only does the brand new fan not work, and have to bring electrician back out to fix all your fans , but Hunter is going to charge you to send replacement recievers for the broke parts that were in the box. Had three fans installed, all three of the lights “blinked” due to bad recievers in fan and have to hire electrician to replace hard wired remote recievers. On top of fhat cost, i had to pay to replace brand new receivers even though the manufacuer date said i was less than 1 year - it makes me so mad that you install a fan out of the box and Hunter doesnt cover the broken parts they supplied nor the electricians cost because you cant find the receipt. Made in China Crap

I decided to purchase a new fan when my 10 old Harbor Breeze fan’s lights stopped working. Probably could have just bought a new light kit but idk. This fan is more stylish than my old fan. However, it is slightly noisy even at the lowest fan setting. The amount of light output doesn’t bother me so much. If it does I would follow the suggestions in the other reviews to change the bulbs.

This fixture looks modern without standing out, which I love! The fan is quiet, and the remote is a convenient feature. However, we have lots of trouble with the light. It’s difficult to dim and sometimes the light won’t come on at all with the remote. Overall, it’s a great fan, but the light & remote need some work!

This fan looks great and it is super quiet. The mounting bracket had rubber pads on it to prevent wobble. It's designed very well including being able to install it yourself. Installation started out simple, however, I put on the trim tab upside down and I had to remove all of my wiring and take the fan back down. The directions do tell you to rest the trim ring on the top housing - and there is a picture of that, but you have to look very close to see the small tabs - and the directions DO NOT tell you to make sure the trim ring is properly oriented. I had a very hard time attaching the some of the fan blades - some of the screws would not go in all the way - it's like they were cross-threaded. I tried different combinations of screws and holes and the problem was the way some of the holes were machined. This should never occur. The light seems to have a little harsh line to it - compared to fans with an open globe where light can bounce off of the ceiling. I also had a problem (as did others) about the light flickering/turning off and on. One reviewer said it's due to the dimmer mode not being enabled. Thank goodness one reviewer wrote how to fix this. Press and hold the 0 button and then tap the light button twice. This is not in the manual, nor does the manual even mention that the light dims. Pros: Appearance, quality (except of attaching fan blades), quiet operation, convenient remote, transmitter cradle to attach to the wall Cons: Instructions should be clearer regarding trim ring. Harsh line to the light. You have to remove the light globe to change fan direction (instructions don't even tell you to removed the globe), should provide screws for transmitter cradle (my screws are so short they won't reach), nothing in manual regarding dim feature nor how to fix light flicker

Standard install. Fan looks beautiful and flush to the ceiling just like I wanted. However, the lights flicker on/off. This fan is installed in my toddler’s bedroom, so it’s very annoying when the lights keep going out. After reading several reviews online and other message boards, this is a common known issue with this particular model. Hunter is sending us a new receiver. Others have received the same and installed with no success. We will be taking this one down and purchasing a different brand. Disappointed and would not recommend.

I have had the light/ fans in for about a week .I have two 44" and one. 52 inch and they are so quiet and look real nice.. They.are Clean looking . They came with 9 watt bulbs (led) but went to home depot to purchase 13 watt led daylight .( maximum u can use is 14 but couldn't find 14) and the rooms are so much brighter.. I love the these light /fans and would definitely get them again if needed for another room. I don't normally shop online but I did a pretty great job If I say so myself Picking these all. I bought a few from different stores but had to return them because I didn't like before buying these. Everyone who has seen them likes them a lot I did not put them up but my son did. Bedroom light/fan.

Love this fan! Purchased for my kitchen ceiling alcove and it fits perfectly. It's very close to the ceiling, which is what I wanted. The design looks wonderful in my mid-century decor and, after replacing the bulbs that came with the fan, I have plenty of clear, bright light in my kitchen. The hand-held remote can be easily stored on the wall, which is what I did. The fan produces excellent air flow on all settings. Very happy with this purchase!

This is a great fan! We bought two and like them so much that we are buying 3 more for every room in our house. Light is bright and low profile is perfect in our low-ceiling rooms. The all-white color also helps it blend in to our lower ceilings, which we love. This fan moves LOTS of air and is whisper quiet. I was worried whether 44-in was big enough for our bedrooms but it definitely has more-than-sufficient air flow. The light itself is a little larger than I was expecting, but in a good way. Gives off ample light for an average size bedroom. ATTENTION: Fans are set to non-dimmable mode out of the box. This not only disables the dimming function—which I did not even realize was a feature of this fan!—but it also caused our lights AND fans to flicker off and immediately back on every few minutes. It was so weird and both fans were having this same problem. We tried different bulbs, settings, etc. and could not figure it out. Finally found a review here with the answer about the dimming mode! I think it is also in the manual, but who reads those things?! Haha. Press and hold the 0 button on the remote (blue light on remote will hold steady), then tap the light button twice to set to dimmable mode (blue light on the remote will flash quickly for a few seconds). This fixed everything! To dim the light, press and hold the light button until desired brightness. Voilá!

I purchased 5 of these fans from Home Depot online. I received my ordered on June 11th 2020 and the fans were installed that following weekend. At first it seemed like only one of the fans had an issue, but after a week now and verifying the operation of each fan, I can confirm they all have the same issue. Aside from these units having terrible/cheap hardware that strips or breaks, I had to go back to Home Depot to buy screws I knew were better. But the real issue is the intermittent operation. If these fans are ran for more than a few minutes, they start to power themselves off. The light flashes off and on as if a thunderstorm were outside. The fans blades can be seen and heard losing power and suddenly regaining it again. 2 of the units have an obvious hum when first turning on too. I can’t say I trust the hunter brand after a purchase like this and spending more for something that would prove more reliable would be the way to go. These should not be sold anymore. Utter garbage.

Just put the fan up today. It’s just what I wanted. Have a small bedroom and it fits perfectly. We had no problems installing it & it works great. I’m ready for summer. Bring it on!

I purchased three of this model to replace older working models in my home. My ceilings are low so I needed fans as close to the ceiling as possible. These were easy to assemble and install. They look great and my husband no longer hits his head on the lights. For reference I am a homemaker/diyer who has switched out lighting and fans before. I also replace plumbing fixtures, lay tile, paint & do minor home repairs so I have a little experience. These fans are very quiet & give plenty of air. The light settings can be changed from dim to bright. I agree with other reviews that the tan control is not a good color choice & white would be better. The control is basic & easy to use. I installed them on the switch. Summer is just starting & these fans help to circulate the air & keep us cool. Overall I’m pleased with this purchase.
