Husband just brought me home my own mechanics set so I can work on my classic mustang. Took off the cardboard and went to carry it in the garage and the two lower drawers dumped out and spilled everything out. Poor design. Cannot recommend the case. No way of latching the drawers into the case. Super dumb. Now I am spending the next hour resorting all the tools back out. So mad.

This Husky 290 piece mechanics tool set is full of high quality tools. The ratchet is 5 degree arc to help get things done in tight spaces. It also has 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" sockets along with several nut drivers, screw driving tips as well. There are some reviews complaining about the case and I can see where people might have some difficulty if you move it around a bunch. This won't be my concern because my tools stay stationary in my garage. The sockets are pretty easy to read due to larger markings but my older eyes have trouble with the smaller sockets. The whole box is pretty hefty, so another reason to probably not move it around too much. Bottom line, nice set - quality brand in Husky so think this is a good buy if you need that one set to build upon for your collection.

This is a useful set of tool with a very functional toolbox. The toolbox has a stout carrying handle that folds away flush for transportation. Both metric and SAE tools are included. The set includes three sizes of ratchets, which is useful as long ratchets are needed for maximum torque, while short ones are needed in confined spaces. The set has over fifty driver bits, again in a variety of styles. This set is now my go-to kit for projects where I cannot anticipate what is needed.

This is a major tool set with 290 tools. The set is housed in a sturdy, 3 level carrying case. It is very heavy, the bottom latches do not stay closed. The lower two trays spilled out for the second time, despite being carried carefully. This set of tools is the bomb, it's like getting your birthday and Christmas present all rolled up in one top of the line gift that will literally last you a lifetime. First of all it is a 290 piece tool set with 3 different ratchet sizes, 1/4 , 3/8 and 1/2 which would meet all of your needs with 142 sockets including 2 different size spark plug sockets. It also comes with hex keys, nut driver bits, drive adapters as well as a magnetic bit driver. The case holds 2 trays that slide out or take completely out with the size of each socket clearly marked on the trays where they go. The greatest thing about these wrenches are they are warranty for life with no recent needed to have an item replaced. If you need a good quality set of tools look no further they don't exist at this price tag, so shoot on down to the Home Depot and pick one up for yourself you will be glad that you did.

I feel like I have waited my whole life to have a tool set this great. I'm 49 years old and all my tool sets up to this point in life have been hand me downs or items I've randomly picked up over the years. This Husky 290 piece mechanics tool set literally has everything you could ever need and more. There are (59) pieces in the 1/4" tool set, (88) pieces in the 3/8" tool set & (38) pieces in the 1/2" tool set along with (105) other tools pieces which are mostly Allen wrenches, nut driver bits, screwdriver bits and bit sockets. There is also a small set of miniature combination end wrenches for very small nuts and bolts. There are socket extension bars, several different sized drive adapters and even (2) spark plug sockets. There is also a magnetic bit driver if needed. This set includes both SAE & metric sized sockets in both 6 point and 12 point. There is also standard depth sockets and deep sized sockets. This tool set is fantastic in that everything you could possibly need is in one spot and easily accessible. Other then being kind of heavy to lug around this tool set is all you should ever need in life. The tool case itself is also wonderful. The handle and the hinges on it appear to be well made and heavy duty. Each piece of the tool set has its own dedicated spot and is marked clearly on the tool case as to what size goes where. The engraving on the tools is very nice and readable and all are marked clearly. The slide out drawers work quite well and stay in place with the locking flaps on the front of the tool box. The Husky engineers did a great job with the overall design of this tool set. It is very heavy duty and very well made and thought out in its presentation. Overall I'm very happy with this tool set and I look forward to finally getting rid of some of my old stuff now that I have this one.

The review of this tool set is may skip over some of the smaller items that are included in this set because there are so many tools with this kit. This set is full of DIY and Tradesman tools, there is a huge variety of tools in this kit. This set has tools that you need without a lot of chaff (small useless tools) to just make the tool count higher. And for the this crazy low price of this set it also makes a great tool kit for those on the road like truckers. All the tools range from very good to excellent quality. This set of tools comes in a very nice blow mold plastic tool box with two sliding drawers that holds the tools firmly, no more opening the case to have the tools loose and all over the place. The top and drawers lock firmly. The kit contains a set of both metric and standard combination end wrench's are very comfortable and easy on the hands since they have a little ticker cross section than some of the more expensive tools out there. This kit has all the metric and standard sockets that anyone would need for even complex tasks. The kit includes both metric and standard Allen wrenches in long and short versions in very nice plastic holders. There are some small combination end wrenches, standard only, that are of marginal quality, these range from 3/16 to 3/8. They are of marginal quality and the only let down in the kit. There is a full set of Torx in 3/8 drive, Allen drivers in 3/8 and 1/4 drives. Nut drivers both metric and standard, from 6mm to 12mm and 1/4 to 1/2 inch. The set also includes a fairly complete set of 1/4 inch drivers and driver handle. All tools have nice clean large size markings this makes selecting the correct size very easy, even when they are scattered on the work bench. I am very impressed with the three ratchets, they are very comfortable to use, all have very small ratcheting angle of only 5 to 7 degrees and all have large quick socket release buttons. These ratchets are easy to disassemble for cleaning and repair since they have “C” clips holding the guts in. The sockets are both 6 and 12 point, this makes them very versatile and able to handle many bolt cap styles. The spark-plug sockets 5/8 and 13/16 have rubber inserts so they can hold the spark-plug in the socket while inserting the plug down into the motor. This really is a comprehensive set of tools that I can highly recommend.

This is a great mechanics tool set for your garage! It has a great assortment of high-quality tools (open and box end wrenches, standard and long sockets, allen wrenches, etc.). This kit might be a little more than what you would want to throw in your truck to haul around with you, due to its weight, but if you do decide to carry it, it has a convenient handle on top. Or you can use the two handles on the sides. I had to reorganize the tools inside the toolbox due to movement during shipping, but I don't think that was a defect in the product. This was likely due to the rough transport. If you do carry this box around, make sure the lid is secure and the drawers are firmly in place, and keep it flat instead of turning it on its side or upside down.

More pieces than I'll ever need, but it's nice to have them just in case I ever do need them. I work on my own pickup truck and I also do a lot of work around the house. So far I have used them to change all the fluids on both vehicles and I also changed the spark plugs since the set comes with both sizes. I built a deck out back and repaired my He Shed. You get both metric and standard sizes and also regular sockets and deep well sockets in six point and twelve point. The ratchet handles feel good in your hand and made to last and if they don't, you have a Lifetime Warranty. The chrome finish is superb and will not chip or flake off. The hard plastic case with removable trays are a nice touch. If you were to buy in pieces, you would spend a small fortune and that's if you can find everything that is included in this set. The low price at Home Depot is easy on the budget as well. I Definitely recommend this 290 piece Husky Mechanics Tool Set but don't let the wording Mechanic fool you, this is a complete set for anyone.

Great set, has everything I need to get most of my work done and everything is organized. I am starting to down size and giving all my tools to my son, however I still need a good solid set of tools to get things done. This set even includes the torix bit so I can still do my brakes on my old Chevy suburban. The one thing I do not like about this is the case where the drawers slide out, there is no stop and I think if I am not careful I will pull the drawer out and dump everything out. If I do need to move it there is a good size handle on top and two on the sides for easy carrying. There are latches to stop the drawers from coming out when carrying it so the problem is only when opening the drawers. When i received this most everything was jumbled around and did not stay put. For me this one be that big of an issue as I plan to keep it on the bench. Might be a consideration for someone keeping it in a boat or off road vehicle. I think it would be fine on the normal road. Perhaps another piece of foam or something thicker will take care of it. The quality of the tools appear to be great, time will tell and if they are not a Home Depot will make good on it. I really like this set it will serve me many years and I will hand it down to my kids just like my grandfather did for some of his tools.

This tool set was exactly what i needed and for a low price You really cant beat it especially if you get them on sale like i did! This tool set will last you a lifetime. It may not have every little thing you need but its a good start for the do it yourselfers. I would recomend to anyone and already have to my friends and family. I love my Husky Tools!!!

Awesome set.

Picked this up as a quick go-to on my service cart in a cheese factory. I first noticed the sides of the b ox had a big gap with strew tools visible. The security zip-tie was still intact. Once I opened it, I spent the next 30 minutes sorting it all out. It is not possible to lift this box by the handle without a mess; you have to keep it flat, which defeats the whole point of a stand-up box. Tools look OK, but the markings are weak on some, which does not help sorting. This is all after a fiasco in ordering, cancelling (2nd day with no call to pick up), purchasing in-store, then getting a text at 10 PM to inform me the old order was cancelled. I find myself at Lowes more and more when it isn't a company purchase.

I recieved this product in a timely manner but due to issues with the carrying case the tools were a mess. Ofcourse being tools, they were fine and do what they were intended to do. I would highly recommend this kit especially at the sale price. Just be prepared to spend a few minutes putting the tools back in their proper place.

I think this is one of the best deals ever offered by Home Depot. And, they have just lowered the price. Think about this ... you get a 194-piece tool set for about 50 cents per piece. Ratchet driver-wrenches alone can cost up to $30 each, and it comes with three (3) of them. Everything snaps into place in the high-impact plastic case that the set comes in. You could beat the case with a hammer and it's not going anywhere. It's built just a s tough as the tools themselves. If that's not enough, the set comes with a lifetime warranty. Best deal out there!

The Husky Mechanics tool set with 194 pieces and a heavy duty plastic molded case is a great tool kit to have in the shop or in the trunk of your car. It makes it easier to do work away from the shop as you have most of the tools needed. The list of tools is extensive in both Metric and SAE sizes. It includes three ratchets in 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch sizes with the corresponding sockets in both standard and some deep sizes. Socket extensions and a 5/8 inch sparkplug socket are included. It also has combination wrenches and many driver bits in Torx, and Hex sizes with a screwdriver handle. A set of Hex keys in both SAE and Metric are included. About the only thing they did not include was a set of pliers but I don’t know where they would fit them. This is a great tool kit to grab any time you need to do a job out in the driveway and will save many trips back to the shop to find the correct socket or wrench. The Husky line of tools I have found to be very well made and have never had one fail. They are a quality tool line at a reasonable price point which is great for a professional or a home mechanic. The tools in this 194-piece tool set are a complete SAE and Metric sockets and accessories. I had no problem removing, rebuilding, and reinstalling a leveling jack on my RV using this tool set. The 10 mm open end wrench in my set was bent (see pic) and the case hinge was broken (see pic) and the case is simply terrible. The top half holds its tools well. The lower half dumps them when the case is stood upright. With this many pieces, a good case is a necessity. This one dumps the tools (see pic).

The range of basic sockets covers nut/bolt work, with standard and deep-set tools provided. Also, the ratchet Arc Swing is a very good touch for the tight spaces normally found under the hood, still enables the pressure on the nut/bolt, but in a limited space environment. The socket wall thickness is more than sufficient for general work. The Drive Adapters enable different socket drive configuration to meet the mechanical situation. The three Ratchet handles and extension bars round out the socket set capabilities. The included wrench set offers the basic Combination configuration, which provides that foundation for working in concert with the sockets. As a compliment to the socket sets, the Net Driver bits, Bit Sockets and Screwdriver bits further meet the mechanical situations that are presented. HUSKY GIVES US A WINNER! Husky again does not disappoint. I'm a DIY'er and I have a shed in my back yard on the farthest corner of the yard. I love that everything comes in one case and its one trip to the driveway and garage area for repairs. I like being prepared and ready to tackle any job. It aggravating and time wasting to have to go back and forth for tools needed. With this tool set its one trip and I know I have everything I need. almost everything you can think of is in this set. The QUALITY is a standout as well. Everything is built sturdy and built to last. The chrome finish is incredible and everything is labeled and easy to ID. another favorite is that when you open the case... nothing falls out. everyone knows how that feels when you open one of these and all your sockets just roll out all over the floor. No Worries here... HUSKY DIDNT LET ME DOWN! Highly Recommended!

This is a very big tool set. It weighs 26 pounds on my scale. The sockets are nicely labeled making it easy to see what size they are. I like the smooth mirror finish of the combination wrenches which makes them easier to clean. Other wrenches sets that I have owned have had a sandblasted finish making them harder to clean. I like that the set not only has a 1/2 inch square to 3/8 inch square adapter, it also has a 3/8 inch square to 1/2 inch square adapter, which is very useful. I like the low profile socket release buttons on each of the 3 socket wrenches. The foam that comes inside the should be put back in before closing the lid and carrying with the handle, otherwise the tools will fall out of their holders. I am disappointed that the 18mm combination wrench falls out when the lid is closed. The case that I received has a dent inside above the 1/4 x 3/16 long socket. You can see the dent in the "Tool box lower section" photograph.

The Husky Mechanics Tool Set with 194-Pieces is one heck of a value. A lot of tool sets pump up the numbers of tools by throwing in duplicate screwdriver tips and other fluff but this kit from Husky does not do that. You get a fantastic and usable selection of sockets in 1/4”, 3/8” and 1/2” drives in standard and deep well, nut driver tips, open-end/box wrenches and hex keys all in both metric and SAE sizes along with other miscellaneous tools. (See images for complete description.) The tools sizes are deeply engraved with large size type face making them easily identified. The tool box also has the sizes clearly marked in the corresponding location. I like to take a white paint pen to accent the black numbers. The tool box really keeps the tools in place. Only a couple of sockets became dislodged during shipment. I spent 14 years owning a bicycle shop and accumulated a good selection of tools over the years. This Husky tool set with a lifetime warranty matches or surpasses anything I have owned. I tinker with the maintenance on both my brother’s and my ATV and this kit will handle anything I need to do. Having all the tools I need in one portable case is definitely a plus. I can’t say enough about how impressed I am with this set of tools both in design and value. This is an absolutely awesome tool set. I had a feeling of jubilation opening the box. The chrome shines beautifully. It comes with pretty much everything that you could need in sockets, wrenches, and drivers. The case is very heavy duty and has 4 lock points to prevent opening. The tools stay put in the case. This set was shipped and arrived with all 194 pieces in their spot. Husky products are great quality and this is just another example. Lifetime warranty on all pieces, if something were to brake they will replace no questions asked. I'm very impressed with this set and would absolutely recommend.

I’m a fan of Husky tools for two reasons: quality and the lifetime warranty. I rarely ever have a Husky hand tool break and on the rare occasion one has, a replacement can readily be had under warranty. This 194-piece Husky tool set is great for the beginner to the professional. There is a variety of 1/4” to 1/2” drive sockets in SAE and in metric. This set also includes 6 point and 12 point sockets, deep sockets, hex keys and combination wrenches among a few others. I plan to keep this tool set in my truck as I frequently pull trailers and need a good set of tools. The hard tool case makes it perfect for a road tool set to place in a truck toolbox.
