playmate 16 QT Cooler
This is the second cooler i bought because it failed to stay closed properly even though it was cheep I decided for a third time to go with a less WOKE company And buy something else where the closure did not fail and would stay closed after 12 months if you want cheep that last for only 13 months this is for you. I bought a Klein 17 QT with a simple closed lid expect last longer

Hello Thruthteller, Coolers need to be prepped before use. If the cooler is stored in garage or attic, bring inside at least a day before use. Use a sacrificial bag of ice to cool the insulated walls before loading the cooler with ice, drinks, and food. Fill with ice and limit the times opened and closed.

Took this camping and on a three hour drive all...
Took this camping and on a three hour drive all the ice was melted. Fortunately, the beer stayed cold enough for me to set up my ice maker and replenish the cooler. Even with making ice the cooler had to be replenished often. Then, you almost have to empty the cooler so that you get rid of the water since there is no drain spout.

Playmate Elite Ultra is a day cooler and is under the "personal" size cooler due to its size. The market overall does not add a drain plug to a personal size cooler.
