I just started installing this unit and noticed that I can't see the markings for the controls. I can only see them at a certain angle and lighting. Very faint.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It took about 45 minutes from bringing the box in to lighting the first burner. The gas had been previously piped. My husband installed it. Make sure the stove top has a good fit into the countertop hole. I cook most things on low I believe the food tastes better. Easy to clean.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just installed so only used a couple times. Like the raised grill look also all the burner options like turbo, 3 types of simmer and the melt. Burners on high heat like they should. Knobs feel nice and love they light up when on. Only negative is the stainless steel in all burner area is too rough. Needs to be polished more with a smoother finish for wiping and cleaning. I am going to attempt to do this. Will review in a few months for updates....

Had been waiting a couple years for an alternate brand's pricing and availability. Gave up and found this KitchenAid cooktop. Great pricing and received it within one month. Looks great but now I need to learn how to cook on gas again. Wish there was a publication/manual about the use of the different five burners, cooking ideas to take the most advantage of this great cooktop. Love buying American!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It very nice to look at however two of my burners are malfunctioning. The igniter keeps on clicking even while the power is turned all the way up.

The bases that the knobs sit on top of are made with plastic and have a silver film-like coating. Look closely at the online product photos before purchasing. We have not used any harsh abrasives or cleaners to cause this concerning issue. The heat from the cast iron grates and the burners themselves causes the coating to peel and flake off. It is shocking to discover that a cook top with this price tag has plastic parts that do not hold up to the heat. I want metal bases for these knobs, not cheap plastic!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The burners work well but there are several significant negatives: 1) Stainless steel surface easily scratchable. 2) The H,M, L markings on the knobs are barely visible as if they are already faded from aging. My stovetop is only 1-month old. 3) There are black streaks formed on 1 of the silver burner rings that cannot be cleaned up. 4) There are white spots on the black grids that cannot be removed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to clean! I do a lot of indoor grilling, and clean up was always a chore, but this cooktop seems quick and easier wipe down, no scrubbing. The specialty burners are great, but my simmer burner doesn’t want to ignite when I have the melting burner in place. Will call service to get an idea why.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was skeptical but the wife really wanted to switch from an electric cooktop to this Kitchenaid gas cooktop. What an incredible difference immediately. No more inconsistent heat with sauces boiling over. It has a very large cooling area and the control knobs are well placed and have a solid professional feel. They light up too. I'm a believer now It also immediately changed the look of the kitchen into something to be proud of.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Kathy and I bought this cooktop for our kitchen remodeling project because it looked good and we thought it would be a nice addition to our new kitchen. We have been very pleased with the cooktop. The various burners offer ample opportunities for different cooking needs from preparing delicate sauces to cooking stir fry dishes to bringing our large pressure canner up to the pressure to process the abundance from our garden and fishing trips. The cooktop is easy to clean and I really like that the cast iron grates have non-marking feet on the to keep from scratching the stainless steel. I also appreciate the lights under the burner knobs that remind me that the burner is on. The only improvement I can identify would be to improve the contrast of the markings on the burner knobs. They are difficult to read - it's only a problem until you get familiar with the cooktop.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had this unit installed on December 21, 2020. It replaced a KitchenAid Electric Cooktop in a house we purchased 2 years ago. I have always had a gas stove until the 2-year period with the electric cooktop, so I was anxious to return to gas cooking. In the showroom 2 years when I started looking at replacement cooktops, I was more concerned about finding a cooktop that would fit into the larger cutout that was made for the eclectic cooktop. At that time, and in a store display setting, I didn't notice that the markings around the knobs were a very light brushed gray. Once the unit was installed in our kitchen, the installer and I both noticed that the markings were small and hard to read. Initially, I had to stand 2 ft back from the unit and slightly to the left of each knob to read the settings available on each burner. I have now become familiar with the controls. I'm not sure why appliance manufacturers have decided that a "sleek looking" appliance is what the market wants. Personally, I'd like to be able to read the controls and not have to refer to an enlarged photocopy of the burner diagram. I would also recommend to consumers who purchase this unit to spend some time experimenting with the various burners and their adjustments as the burners on this cooktop pack a lot of power. The CookShield Finish shows every drop of water spilled on it so I am having to pull off the grates every day and wipe down this surface. (EX: condensation from lids being removed from pots to check cooking progress). Features that I really like on this unit are the separations on the base by the burners which form 3 distinct areas for drips and spills to collect. I also like the lighted control knobs. It is very easy to spot a burner that has been left on from 10 ft away. I am also enjoying the large grates that go over the burners and form one huge surface. This makes it very easy to slide pots and pans around to adjust heat temperature.

Just got this installed and like it quite a bit. I would suggest a design change though, swap the 2 left burners from front to back so the big one doesn't heat up the controls area. I like that this is made in the USA but was disappointed to see the sticker about that was placed over a small scratch in the finish, so it wouldn't be seen by Quality Control? - Made on line 62 date 9/29/2020 (knocked 2 stars off Quality for that). Also like others have mentioned, it's difficult to see the control labels due to the way it's etched/printed in a color that is almost identical to the stainless. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just had this cooktop installed and besides being very stylish, the flexibility with the various burners makes cooking a breeze. You can have very high or very low heat with the precise simmer burner or the big double burner in the center. The griddle is also easy and convenient for cooking bacon or pancakes. Love this great new addition to our kitchen.

The cooktop assembly was easy for my installer and works great and cooks Food easy and fast. As well as looks great on my kitchen island.

Awesome piece of technology ! Heats evenly all burners, performs as i would expect ! It replaces a 4 burner Kithenaid .

This cooktop was much more beautiful in person than it was in the online pictures. Originally I didn't even want a KitchenAid I wanted a Whirlpool Professional but the deliver time was ridiculous so I settled. I am glad that I did. This cooktop works wonderfully and the install was a breeze. The stainless is also quite brilliant and it wipes clean with a little glass cleaner and BAM...like new. I would not hesitate to recommend this over mother brands. Solid cooktop, performs well and looks amazing. Quite a compliment to my kitchen.

I really like this cook-top. After a week of cooking on it it's exactly what I wanted. My favorite is the torch burner It heats everything quickly and evenly. The tea kettle was ready in no time. The middle burner I used for a big pot of water for spaghetti, I like that it's back a bit and out of the way of the other burners. Awesome burner! The simmer burner in the back is nice. I made oatmeal on it and there was no sticking or over-boiling it was a nice gentle simmer. The other two burners did a good job too. Each burner seems to have it's own unique setting and purpose. It took a bit of getting used to but I'm glad I picked this one. I love it! My husband installed it. The only gripe he had was there wasn't a template. He was replacing a 30 inch with this 36 inch, a template would have made the job easier and quicker.

was tired of electric cook tops. I love to cook and hated the heat up time. I splurged and bought the 36" gas Kitchen Aid cook top and love love it !! it heats quickly and is super easy to clean . It is the star of my kitchen remodel !!!

Overall very pleased with the purchase. I was about to buy the 550 version rather than the 950 version, but decided to treat myself with the even heat burner and light up dials. The installation was easy (lucky for me the old counter top hole was an exact match - measured in advance - do the same to be sure). And the folks in the plumbing department at HD did a great job getting me the correct fittings and compound to replace the old stuff which needed to go with the old cook top. In addition to what is pictured, in the box there was also a spare burner cover to help with heating small delicate items like chocolate (goes in left rear, shown in use in picture) and a griddle as well - both were pleasant surprises I did not expect. There were also spare bits in case there were fuel delivery issues at the burners (sorry, don't know the technical name for the do-dads) - those are in my file cabinet with all the instructions as everything worked without any adjustment needed once the gas was connected. The HD delivery crew were professional and brought the new unit and and opened the box for a full detailed inspection. I've only had the unit a couple of weeks, so can't speak to long term reliability, but the initial quality assessment is top notch. Only complaint is a few other items in my kitchen don't match up and now the disparity is glaringly obvious - so now I have to spend more money...

HEAVY DUTY! I REPLACED MY KENMORE THAT'S 5 YEARS OLD. THE KNOBS WERE PLASTIC AND KEPT CRACKING. NEW ONES WERE 245.00. THIS MODEL HAS METAL KNOBS. GREAT BURNER LAYOUT, WELL MADE!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you intend to cook with multiple pots at the same time you will be disappointed that KitchenAid didn't take this into consideration with the spacing between burners. When using a large pan on front burners you run the risk of the knobs getting hot under the pan. Knobs are opposite on each side for high/low settings which is confusing. Really poor design!
