Bought this switch to work with my z wave controls extremely nice being able to control all my homes exterior lights off 2 of these switchs from a central control hub inside my home its broken in to two zones front of home and back of home switchs work great controller hub turns on my lighting at a programmed time then shut off all exterior lighting at 6am

It does work and was easy to pair to z-wave. The rocker feels very loose and not as sturdy as a Jasco or other Leviton switches I have purchased in the past. I have had it about a week and it is doing fine. In summary, it works, it comes with an ivory plate, it isn't a bad switch, at a decent price.

Thank you for your purchase and review. Glad to hear the installation went well. If the paddle feels loose, please make certain the switch was not overtightened when installed. The solution may be as simple as backing the mounting screws out a turn or two.

I bought 2 of these and am returning them both. Installation instructions are terrible. Instructions have no reference to app download or configuration. The "smart" aspect of this wife refers to working with outdated "Z-wave technology" HUBS. When I did find Z-Wave apps reviews for the apps were 2-star averages. The Leviton Decora app was useless. After loading it required a code to be scanned that was either on the product packaging or on the device. Note, there is no such code on these devices or it's the packaging. My assumption is this is an outdated "smart device" and effectively obsolete. I chose this based on user reviews stating that they had it working with Alexa. I assume they bought a different Leviton switch and accidently posted the review on these. Wasted time.

    If you are buying a two pack thinking they can...
    If you are buying a two pack thinking they can both be part of a two way switch, you would be wrong. If you want to do two way, one of these and the Leviton DD0SR-1Z 120VAC Decora Coordinating Switch Remote is what you need. On the bright side, the DD0SR-1Z is half the price. These also have a larger (deeper) body than the GE Z-wave v2 switches so are harder to get into full boxes. The one plus is the paddle responds in real time with these so they feel natural (the GE have a slight lag).

    Junk out of the box...
    Dead on arrival... Connected Hot, Load, Neutral and Ground per instructions. LED illuminates, clicks when top rocker is pressed, no lights come on. Put the old dumb switch back in and voila, lights work again. Wanted to set up Z wave control through a home security system, but looks like Lutron is off the list. Will try GE and see if they are at least functional. As an aside, I did try to put it in pairing mode, since the LED was on, before I pulled it out. I held the button down for about 10 seconds, the LED began flashing, but my hub could not find it.

    Thank you for the purchase and review. From the information provided it sounds as if there is a wiring issue that needs to be addressed. Holding the paddle for 14 seconds will default the switch but will not enter pairing mode.       I was told in the store that this could be...
      I was told in the store that this could be operated from my phone using just the leviton app. After installing it i come to find out that a hub is also needed to use this switch. Returning it today.

        Tried a few different brands of zwave plus switches. The leviton's consistently show disconnected on the hub. The others are all fine. Upon googling I found this is a common problem with these particular switches. I'll eventually replace them with a different brand.

        I've been using this for about 3 months ago and its working great. Installation was as easy as installing a normal switch and getting it online with SmartThings was also a piece of cake. This was my first hardwired z-wave device and its truly amazing how easy it is to setup and install. I also have it integrated to run a schedule with the Alexa app which also is flawless.

          I really have to state this...I am a Z-Wave pro. I've used it since it became a standard. I've never, ever run across a group of switches that are as unreliable as these are. I purchased 4 in June, 2019. Three have gone back for replacements. Install them, include them, fine. They work for a few days. Then the switch led stays green, but when you hit the button to turn it on, it does nothing. No click, nothing. It DOES still speak to the Z-Wave controller, however, even though the controller tells it to turn on (and it says it turned on) the switch does not makes it's trademark audible click - nor does it turn the load on. You have to remove it from the switch box, disconnect the white neutral, wait 10 seconds, reconnect it, then it works from both the switch and the Z-Wave controller....for a while. Two to three days later, it stops again. Unacceptable - and going back.

            Bought 2 switches. One has no problem but the other (which is closer to the hub) keeps losing connectivity and changing from a Z-wave switch to a Z-wave Relay. Tech support is trying to find out why.

            I purchased this along with the "remote" switch to replace a traditional 3-way setup. I paired this with a QOLSYS alarm and home automation system via Z-Wave. As others have said, the directions could be better. I also have GE/Jasco Z-Wave switches installed in my home and thought I would give these a try since they were a little cheaper (hence my excellent value). Biggest drawback is that the switches do not come with a short "neutral wire" in the package which is required for this setup. Of course, I didn't notice this until getting home and pulling out the wiring, opening the boxes, etc. I had to return to the hardware store to purchase wire to complete the installation which added another $12 to the cost. I rated 2/5 for this reason. Otherwise I would mark this a 4/5 star product - loosing one star for the poor instructions. GE/Jasco Z-Wave switches come with the "neutral wire" in the package. After purchasing additional wire and figuring out how to install, the switches were installed in a 3-way setup, paired with my QOLSYS system and working just fine.

The screw terminals are rated for 2 conductors, in the future you can place the line and load neutral wires under the neutral screw.               I did not install this product, it was installed by an electrician, so I can't speak to how easy it was to install. Once it was installed, setup to connect it to my Smart Home z-wave system was fairly easy and completed in minutes. It works great, you can turn your lights on or off the old fashion way using the switch without any issues and when you want to have your smart home devices do it via Amazon Echo, etc or use a smart home app (like WINK or Google Home) on your phone. This works great with the WINK system. I am going to replace all my light switches with this switch.
