This is an excellent saw. It has more metal than other saws and very little plastic.it's lightweight and easy to carry. It has plenty of power and will cut any size wood most people would use a chop saw for. The sawdust collector is extra large and works well.I have been thinking about a makita chop saw for a couple of years and now I bought it I'm delighted.

This is the miter they should carry in the store in stock. The ryobi works but I recommend it for children under 16. The rest of us should use real tools. Thanks Makita for making a quality product - unlike your first generation lxt lithium ion impact driver which is a joke.

Having 3 other chop/ compound saws I wanted something small and easy. Working on columns two other saws kept chipping out our fine material even with new 80 tooth blades. New makita with 40 tooth did perfect no blow outs. Must have better bearings in the motor, 5 stars!!

this tool is very strong.

I'm no expert just an amateur but I looked at a bunch of different models and feel this one is made the best from a great name in tools. I have had nothing but great experiences with Makita tools. I knocked off one star because it doesn't come standard with some extension wings and it should IMO.

Meh. Returned. Read a lot of favorable reviews on this saw, touting its build quality. Out of the box, none of the miter stops were accurate, and the blade scraped against the shield as I lowered the saw toward the work area with the motor off. That did not inspire confidence. Best thing about this saw was the blade. The few test cuts I made, while inaccurate, were very clean. Too bad the blade was wasted on this machine.

This saw is very useful for cabinetry and precision cutting. I am able to make the precise cuts with it that I was not able to do by hand with a cabinet saw and miter box. I am using it to build the cabinet for my home wine tasting room.

This saw is everything I had hoped it would be, plus a great value.

I have owned this saw for over 10 years, and has yet to let me down. It will power through most stock with ease, of course that is dependent on a quality blade that is sharp (no kidding, right?). But seriously, I have built over 100 decks using pressure treated lumber, ipe, and composites and this saw cuts it all. The throat plate is replaceable and the adjustment stops remain true to the angle. The only drawback is that it is a 10" saw that doesn't slide, so the size of stock is limited. It will do 4 1/4" crown with ease, but you will have to flip the board around for left and right cuts.

Saw is easy to use and light weight to move around. Easy to set up in any room. Dust bag catches most of the saw dust. Eazt to do compound miters.

Very good out of the box. I suggest getting a stand with it. Doesn't cut larger boards. 3 1/2 inch about max at 45 degree angle. Easy to transport. Nice and small.

the setting are solid and the overall working of the saw is good...but, not good for cutting molding.

We purchased this miter saw for company use, we already had one and liked it so we purchased another one. We are very hard on equipment and these are extremley durable and easy to use.
