Perfect solution for my customer with a bypass humidifier. The original damper self-destructed and HVAC tech wanted to sell them a whole new unit. I was able to fix it with this damper and save my customer money. Very happy customer now.

the seal is about 1/4 " of the side but its ok

I was a little surprised by the size of the gaps between the valve and the larger body and in the larger body itself where it wraps onto itself. If these were tighter, it would be a more energy-efficient solution. Still, I had a vent which was far over powered, and the damper worked to make it a gentle flow.

All good as expected . Fitted well

Easy to install (after ordering the right size ...6” versus 8”) and does a great job of limiting the air flow into a ceiling supply line in a new bathroom ceiling. Prior to installing this damper, it sounded like a jet engine. Now, damper adjustment at about 1/3 flow provides more than adequate heat/air and fairly quiet.

Easy enough to cut the 6” supply line and insert and properly orient this damper. Less than 30 minutes. Looks like a professional HVAC person did the work.

Inline dampers did exactly what they were designed to do. Don’t get why I had to go to the store to pick these up when the 6in dampers shipped to my house. Both boxes were the same size.

Worked as intended.

Unit worked great in a bedroom vent duct that made too much noise even with the vent wide open! This was installed at the where the bedroom air duct splits from the main duct (about 8 feet from the bedroom air vent). Closed the damper half way and tighten the wingnut to keep the damper vane from moving. Now the bedroom vent is very quiet with less airflow (no more whistling). The whole process took about an hour.

The inline damper was easy to assemble in place of duct work.

The damper inside does not fit snugly to the sides. Therefore, air just passes by it. Very cheaply built.

This fitting functions well and stops the majority of airflow. It is fairly sturdy and if installed properly should last a long time. I think it is an excellent value for the price.

this is very cheap . will have to replace it soon. used it since we ordered it but flimsy and dissapointing

This damper is very flimsy. The damper its self will not open and close easily as the pipe is so short it hits the crimp on the next pipe. Not happy at all with it.

Damper effective for air flow control.

Decent quality and fit well.

Worked as advertised. Had a 6 in duct going to a half bath. Room was either overheated or overcooled. Was able to limit flow rate making the half bath comfortable

The quality of this product is ok but there are two deficiencies: (1) The ducting that this damper is connected to is usually surrounded by an inch to two inches of insulation. The lever on the side that controls the damper does not allow for this thickness of insulation. It should have a one- to two-inch extension of the damper shaft so that insulation can be inserted between the control lever and the ducting. (2) When the damper is closed, there is an excessive clearance between the damper paddle and the duct wall. This could be reduced to increase the effectiveness of the damper.
