Had to cut a stainless steel sink hole
Well, I had to cut a hole and a stainless steel sink, it got the job done. Clean smooth hole, the teeth are gone off the bit. Only one use and it’s in the trash can..

      Doesn’t cut metal efficiently
I needed to make a hole on the underside of a car to insert hardware to fasten a hitch attachment. This tool seemed like it could do the job going off the Milwaukee brand equity. It’s a crap product and wasn’t able to get through thin stew sheet metal. I ended up using small drill bits to perforate the metal along the grove this hole saw made before the teeth became totally flat. Don’t buy this to cut into thin sheet metal of a car because it won’t.

Impact shank broke after 4 uses
Electrical/HVAC contractor when seen this thought it’s was great idea for us in the field. Worked awesome first 3 jobs and on the 4 SNAP! Impact shank broke off 20 mines later fishing it out my impact stuck back and finished the job. Doesn’t lock anymore left right or up good. DOWN position forget. Awesome idea if it was better quality. Thanks

Most hole saws are acceptably sloppy things, given the nature of their job. But this saw's small kerf and teeth/inch left holes so smooth they look like they were cut by a forstner bit. Even in 5mm plywood, there wasn't any shredding or breaking of the top laminate. Wobbling was imperceptible. The shank is 1/4" but the pilot bit is not. Mine was 5/32" The ejection spring was helpful, but the plug still needs to be pried out. The disc it cuts out is 1.2" in diameter. Well-made, but on the expensive side for what it is.

            Lasted long
Used on drill press on nema boxes. Made over 300 holes . Lasted longer than Klein 7/8 carbide tip and half the price .

              Poor Quality
I attempted to use a right angle drill to cut through a metal stud. The stud is only about 1/16 or so thick. The pilot bit broke before I completed a single hole. It broke within 5 seconds of pulling it out of the package. Extremely disappointing!

wish it was a good tool
Pilot bit broke on first use. Easy enough to drill a hole with a regular bit and just shove the broken end through the hole. Saw portion works. I like the rim which keeps you from plunging your saw too deep in the new hole. I like the spring which ejects the freshly cut plug. Ill replace the pilot bit, but only once. If i break it again ill just buy something more reliable.

                  Poor Quality Control
These work great when they work but I have bought several that have had a variety of issues. Some come dull out of the box some have had the pilot bits fall apart. The one I am using now came brand new with a dull pilot bit. I spend a lot of tools in a year and have spent too much on shockwave hole saws that don't work. Luckily home depot has exchanged them for me several times.

I have my weber grilled hooked to a hose connected to my house propane. I decided to put the spare tank under the grill and away from the garage. But the tank hole was where my hose exited. I decided to drill a 1 inch hole in the side of the grill to run the hose and to not disrupt the tank placement. Wow. For such thin metal, it was next to impossible to get solid drill bits through the side. I started with small bits and increased. I went to HD to get a 1 inch solid bit but there were $30 ish. Then I found this and remembered how well they work on door handle holes. This bit is for metal. It drifted at first since I already had a 1/2 inch hole (my bad). But to drill through the grill took maybe 10 seconds. The blade is super sharp and well made. Great product. I touched up the side hole with two inch PVC to keep the edges of the metal away from the gas hose, then painted all with flat black paint. Works great.

Cuts like hot knife through butter. I needed to drill through an aluminum shifter box on a car to reach linkage parts, and this hole saw went through about 3mm of cast aluminum within seconds. In fact, I inadvertently went right through some stamped steel too. This is worth the money.

The attached picture is 1.5 holes in through 1/8" steel using a Ridgid Gen5x brushless impact driver. Guess I should have laid off the spinach, since I managed to drill a 7/8" straight through the teeth. I imagine this tool would work great if I put the driver in medium mode and switched to decaf, since the first hole was perfect. I'm also going to try lubricant, since everything got pretty hot. Will buy another and try again.

                      Great, verfsatile hole saw!
I use bi-metal hole saws to cut holes in military ammo cans. The Shockwave Thin Wall Hole Saw works really well for this. It says that you can use an impact driver, but I found the best results using a regular drill/driver. Of course, if you are drilling a wiring panel that will be covered with dry wall, it does not matter much. Just use whatever drill or driver you have handy. But, in my case looks makes a difference, as I will sell these. You can see from the pictures below that using the impact driver left a slightly irregular hole when the impact kicked in. This is not present using the drill/driver. Remember, I used it on a military ammo can, so if you are drilling a circuit panel, I am sure the metal will cut really easy! This is a quality hole saw! It is much better than some other one you may use! The money you pay for this will save you money in the long run.

This hole saw did the trick of moderately heavy sheet metal. Needed a larger hole off set from 3/4” hole. Attached sheet metal to sacrificial wood and got the correct location.

Great Hole Saw, but I do not recommend using in an impact as advertised, strips the pilot set screw very consistently. Use in a drill and it has plenty of life

The circular cutting part of the drill was too short and did not go all the way through the board being cut.

This might work good for lightweight steel but it did not for me. I give it 1 star for the cost. I got this to drill through 43mil (18ga.) steel. the drill bit broke on the first try. I used another bit I had and once the hole saw contacted the steel it only made a groove before it was toast.

Disappointing results. Bought it to drill a hole on a 18 gauge, stainless steel, kitchen sink to install a soap dispenser. Pilot Drill bit broke off while penetrating the sink. The saw never made contact with the sink. Had to return it. Replaced with below , which worked perfectly. Milwaukee 1-1/4 in. Hole Dozer Bi-Metal Hole Saw with 3/8 in. Arbor & Pilot Bit

Pilot bit broke/hole saw itself works very well
The pilot bit (3/16) snapped immediately when I tried to cut a hole in a stainless steel sink. I'd already made a 1/8 pilot hole with a Ti-N bit, but the pilot bit in this hole saw is black oxide coated HSS. That disappointment out of the way, the shank and pilot bit are generic, and I had a replacement at hand, which I chucked in the hole saw. Then I was off to the races. The good news is the fine teeth on the hole saw itself did a really great job cutting stainless, as advertised!
