    Hits heavy and low vibration
This Milwaukee framing hammer is a solid option for your construction work. The rubber grip on the handle offers a reliable sure grip. The milled face offers a good 'grip' on the nail head when the swing is just a bit off. The hammer also has a magnetic nail starter on the top of the face for starting nails with one hand. I took this out and drove some 3" galvanized nails and it was smooth fast work.

    Well made works perfectly
This is a well made Hammer and works perfectly. I use alot of differnt hammers and this one works great. I like the handle at 14" long makes for alot of force when hitting the nails to drive them in. Then you have the nail set on the head of the hammer that worked flawlessly on nails 2" long or longer. Yes I was able to use it on the roofing nail with the plastic still on the nail. I just slid the plastic down to insert the nail in the magnetic head. I drove 16D down to the 2" roofing nail with out a problem. the handle is very comfortable when useing it, easy to control and does not slip with the poly coating. It also made it very easy to pull out nails with out having to get a prybar/nail puller. The mailled head keep the head on the nail head did not have any problem with it sliding off the nail heads. I just wish I had this 3 weeks ago when I build my daughters patio. Again a great Hammer worth every penny.

    Great Hammer
The Milwaukee hammer is a 21 ounce milled face poly handle hammer. It is well balanced and has a lot of great features. The handle fits my hand well and has a great grip. I like the head with the magnet that can hold a nail to get it started. This comes in handy when you have to hold a board with one hand while nailing with the other. The claw works really well removing nails also.

A Very High Quality Milwaukee Hammer
The Milwaukee 21 oz. Milled Face Poly Handle Hammer is very well made. Definitely a high-quality hammer. Feels really good in the hand at just 21 oz. Is nicely balanced and was exactly the type of hammer I was looking for. I have other Milwaukee hand and power tools so am very familiar with the quality of their tools. A great addition to my collection of tools. .

    Very Pretty Hammer
Nice heft & balance & "nice looking" hammer but what's the point? As at least one other reviewer stated (w/ photos), this hammer chips easily - big chips. Retail card said something about not hitting "hardened nails" or something to that extent. Not sure how to tell what material every last thing is so I assume this is just for use on new nails you know what they are? Very surprising how soft this is, not supposed to use if chipped. Planned to replace an old hammer that stands up to anything.

Too expensive for the poor quality head/face.
Love the overall design. Nice balance and performance in hand. Issue is the quality of the metal used for the face and head. So soft it has completely deteriorated, chipped, gouged, and looks a wreck after just one afternoon of simple construction. I will use this until the head becomes a worn-out mess (I'm guessing in a month or less) and will not purchase another Milwaukee hammer for fear this is typical. I have Husky and no-name hammers that have faired far better at half the cost. Shame.

        It can take a beating
This puppy will pound steel, drive nails, and screws for that matter if that is what you want to do with it. This is a behemoth it will wear your arm down and make sure that you know that. I have used this hammer all summer and it has been absolutely amazing. If you are going to drive nails all day though I do recommend the 17 oz version. This hammer exceeded my expectations especially at the price.

          Comfortable and versitile hammer
This is a heavy framing hammer, let there be no doubt about that. My preference is for a lighter one, but heavier ones have their place. For this hammer, that place is when driving nails into dense pressure treated wood for me. The heavier hammer seems to do a better job with that extra mass. The hammer is comfortable in the hand and well balanced. It seems to be well made, fit and finish are very nice. I really like the nail holder to start nails, this is the first hammer I've had with one. It makes things go a little bit faster keeping the nails in one hand, loading the hammer, then driving the nail while getting the next nail ready for the hammer. It has a milled face and I don't know if that's a benefit or not. I've been driving nails for years and very rarely miss the head. Overall, it's a nice hammer to add to my collection. I still prefer my lighter wooden handled hammers if I have a lot of nailing to do. But this one definately deserves a specialized place.

          Hard hitting hammer
I used this hammer to reinforce some rotted 2x4's in my shed and it hits hard. While I do feel vibration compared to my wood handle hammer, it's really not too bad at all. Depending on the job I still prefer metal over wood just due to longevity. However I don't know where they get the claim up to 10x vibration reduction (compared to...?), But it's not fatiguing by any means. Also it is a 28oz hammer head, so when you hit the nail it drives deep. The rubber part of the handle is big enough to fit two hands if needed for some reason. Also the head has your typically magnetic nail holder that you see on most every hammer nowadays. Overall I'm very happy with this milled face framing hammer, and with the metal handle even if you miss on occasion the handle won't break or bend. I expect this hammer will last me a lifetime. One last thing, the grip is a little slick with my barehand, but when I wear gloves it is much better and seems to stick in the hand.

Milwaukee 28oz milled face framing hammer.
One would not expect to see hammer and technology in the same sentence, but this is a case where today’s technology really has been used to improve the simple hammer. Compared to an old school steel shaft leather grip framing hammer the “ShockShield” grip really does reduce the shock transmission to your hand. The length allows for greater driving force with each swing. The magnetic nail holder is a handy feature that allows you to start a nail without having your fingers in the way. The milled face prevents an angled blow from glancing off of the nail head. Overall it seems to be well balanced and is a good weight for framing.

Milwaukee 16 oz. Smooth Face Finish Hammer
This is a high quality Milwaukee 16 oz. smooth face finish hammer. It is exceptionally balanced for controlled finish nailing. It has an “I-beam” handle that protects it from bending. It has a unique grip that reduces vibration and has an integrated magnetic nail set designed to let you set nails one-handed. The claw design is also great for nail pulling and prying applications.

          Love this hammer
I had been wanting a hammer with a more modern hammer. This is a very nice hammer, it is heavier than any other hammer I have ever had. The magnetic nail set is a really nice feature, keeps you from hitting your fingers. It really sinks into the stud I was using as a test item. The handle is very comfortable which will make it easier to use the hammer.

This hammer will last a liftime.
The Milwaukee Milled Face Framing Hammer is a well-designed hammer with great striking power. I love the built-in nail holder that allows you to load a nail and set it in the place you want. The design of the hammer and the way the grip is made, reduces the vibration you get from driving in large nails. This feature reduces fatigue and saves your joints. The hammer is long and makes pulling nails much easier than a standard hammer. It has a nice thick protective clearcoat on the hammer and will keep it looking nice for years to come. I am very pleased to have this hammer on my tool belt.

          Set 'em good
Milwaukee’s 28 oz. Milled Face Framing Hammer should have been around when I first started working construction as a college freshman. First day on the job I was driving 16d nails. The next day the boss didn’t even ask; he had me do other things on the site; he knew my arm would have fallen off if I picked up a hammer on day two!! This gem is a world apart from back then , and Milwaukee says it should “last a lifetime. My only question would be about the durability of the milled face my other framing hammers would be “smooth” in a month or two. The nail set system actually works! On all my other hammers I had installed magnets on the handle end, but the nail set magnet on this is strong enough that it picks up dropped nails!!

          Good balanced feel
My current hammer has been around for 20+ yrs. This was a welcome upgrade. This was the first time I used a hammer with a nail set. The magnet does a great job of holding the nail firmly in place for one handed initial setting of the nail. No more bashed fingers. I was able to set it 3/4'+ deep on the first swing. The handle provides a nice grip and the red color makes it easy to spot if you set it down

This is a quality tool and well suited to all day use. I doubt better can be had.
Back when I was swinging a hammer every day all day mostly on framing and joists I used to think nothing could ever touch my beloved Estwing framing hammer which is a classic. It was like an extension of my right hand. Back in the day those were the main 2 things you needed when you walked on a job, a good hammer and a quality leather nailbag. I’m not sure I can find a nailbag as good as what I used back then but amazingly hammers are still as good if not better. If I’d had this to choose from back then I think I would have had to rethink my hammer choice. The thing that made the other such a good tool (and still does) was it was built really solid, had a good size milled face that took a beating well, the right heft and an excellent handle. It also had a well designed claw and that is just about as important as the head. In a world where a lot of work is done with nailguns the claw is used about as much as the driving side. So the claw is very important. That said I really love the claw on this hammer. This hammer is right there with my 45 year old classic (and even at the exact same price) on all points but the claw might just be a step forward on what I thought was perfection. The shape and design is just very well done. Only time will tell if it has the lasting power of my classic but it sure looks to be made really well and I even give it a slight lead on a tool they’ve made a very long time. It has a lacquer coating I figure will wear off with time but it’s just a nice tool and that seems irrelevant. This is a workers hammer not some weekenders toy. If your tools are part of your livelihood you need something that will serve you day in and day out without a thought. I believe that is what Milwaukee has here. Obviously it is not a one size fits all since you need different hammers for different jobs. But as an old framer I can say this tool is dead on what a framer needs. I gave my old 28 oz Estwing to someone that was still swinging one when I left the carpenter biz and I kind of regretted that even though they I’m sure they put it to more use than I would. But with this I have something every bit as good and I think a little better on the claw side. I still find plenty to do with one in fact more than I had imagined. (as long as you have a home so it goes) Heck, they may have to pry a hammer from my cold dead fingers when I go.

          Good all around size.
I have a 16 and a 22 ounce hammer. Sometimes the 16 ounce is too light and sometimes the 22 ounce long handle is too big. This Milwaukee 20 ounce has plenty of driving power with a compact handle. The grip is shock proof and feels really good in my hand. I like the magnetic nail holder built into the head. I have always been very satisfied with any tool with that famous Milwaukee brand. I am convinced if you want the best tool Milwaukee is a great choice and this hammer is no exception.

          Durable finish hammer
This Milwaukee 16 ounce smooth face finish hammer looks beautiful. The I-beam handle will ensure it never bends. Since this is all metal, one-piece construction, you never have to worry about the head coming loose from the handle. I found the hammer felt very comfortable in my hands. The integrated magnetic nail set is a useful feature and worked as expected every time. I tested with 6d and 8d nails and the hammer set them well and drove them home easily. The only minor concern is with the coating they put on the metal. It looks nice but as soon as I put the hammer to use, especially prying nails out with the claw, the coating was damaged. Overall, I am very pleased with this product and it will allow me to finally retire my wood handle hammer.

          16 once hammer
Millwakee 16 once all around hammer, good for all aspects of hammering and ripping out. The red handle makes it easy to find when you lay it down. The head has a built in magnet to hold and start nails. Another great addition to my tool box. This hammer is great for all types of building and repairing, light and very easy to handle. I especilly like the magnet feature, saves hitting my swollen thumb.

          Wow! Great hammer!
Wow! This hammer is very well made, solid with a lot of nice features. I really like the magnetic nail set as it holds nails securely and surely will save me from some sore fingers. This I-beam designed hammer is balanced right with a bright red shock reducing grip handle. The hammer being 20oz in weight does a nice job of driving nails with ease even in hard woods.

          Great framing hammer
Super smooth face hammer with a rip claw. Suitable from framing and most general purpose jobs. Weighs 20 oz, which suits me fine. The balance is good and the grip extends over half way up the hammer for when you want to choke up on it. The head features a magnetic nail set which I do find handy for smaller nails or brads. The claim of 10X vibration reduction doesn't state as compared to what, but I will say it is noticeable compared to a wood handle, definitely reduces fatigue. Now my go to hammer for jobs big and small, highly recommended. Made in Taiwan.

All exposed metal is encased with a sturdy see-thru finish!
Nicely balanced 16-ounce claw hammer with a very comfortable cushioned grip. Fits on a toolbelt effortlessly. Kind of impossible to damage a hammer however it confidently comes with a Milwaukee lifetime warranty. The built-in rare earth magnet is a added plus so you can pre-stage nails when in awkward situations. Solidly manufactured and will last from father to son to future generations

          Love the nail glide feature!
The Milwaukee smooth-faced hammer lives up to the Milwaukee reputation for fine tools. The magnetic nail guide is a boon for novices like me. You just place the nail on the magnet and groove and hammer the nail in instead of your thumb - lol. The grip is firm and will not slip from your hands. The hammer has an attractive smooth face. The hammer is very well made and sturdy to last a long time. Yet at 20 oz. it is not too heavy for beginners and the elderly. I could wield it without too much effort. I look forward to doing my own light handyman jobs with help from this hammer.

          Good Size, Weight and Comfortable
This is a great size and weight all-around hammer. Its smooth face helps to protect your work. It has a magnetic nail set that makes it easier to set your nail without holding the nail with your other hand. I like its I-beam, it not only looks good, it makes it stronger. The Hybrid claw means that you can use it in more places. It narrows down so it will pull smaller nails too. This grip is unbelievably comfortable. It reduces shock and makes long time use easier. They call the grip ShockShield and reduces vibration up to 10 times. It does make for a comfortable hammer. This is a perfect hammer for around the house and definitely on the job site. If you use a hammer much, you need different sizes and this is one that you should add to your toolbox. It is balanced and feels good in your hand. It has a limited lifetime warranty, so no worries. It is a great looking hammer too.

          Milwaukee 20oz. Hammer
I ordered this particular item because every household needs a quality hammer. I like this hammer for several reasons. One is the weight it is well balanced and will drive nails with minimal effort, two the length of the shaft allows more leverage when pulling nails back out or when prying apart boards, three is the grip is shock absorbing to take the impact off the wrist, four it has a magnet in the head that will hold nail so you can start nail easily. The design of the shaft also makes this a strong tool to have in your tool box

          Bad
Worst hammer ever! I don't think they tested it at all. The handle is not a good shape for your hand and forget pulling a nail prying a board, no leverage at all with the angle of the forks.
