Very dissapointed
I’ve been using Milwaukee tools for years and havent had any complaint at all until now, as my rotary hammer drill was stolen a few months ago along with all the bits and other tools I was waiting to have a demolition work to spend the money getting a new one, is not a cheap tool so a few days ago I spent almost 1000 dollars getting the hammer drill and this thing that with taxes was exactly 200 dollars, this was supposed to make my work easy that day so it was worth to spend 200 dollars in this scrapper. Literaly after 15 minutes working and happy because it was actually removing vinyl like butter I saw a bolt flying and at that moment I didnt have with me an allen key and a wrench, why should I have those on me? I was simply removing a vinyl, I put it back as I could because is a safety nut so without tools and hot wasnt easy, I couldnt tighten it it though, five minutes later the rest of the screws were loose so I had to stop using the tool because didnt want to damage. If this is gonna happen there should be a big warning saying “dont forget to buy your wrench Milwaukee kit for the scrapper” or maybe sell this tool with the wrenches on the side, this is not supposed to happen after minutes of work, I understand checking torques once in a while but this? Is so frustrating, I had to finish without a power tool because didnt have any other appropiate bit so did it with a big flat bar, those who know flooring know what it means removal of a 50 years old vinyl by hand. Is so frustrating to spend this money and plan to work an hour and realizing that you just threw money to the garbage and had to work several hours. What happened with the QC this time? It says made in Germany I think. I dont wanna think that Milwaukee is lowering the quality of their tools

    Poor quality
Don't waste your money. I bought it and started using it, in 30 minutes of work it loosened two screws, after an hour of work one screw broke. Never again.

      Excellent.
I'm using this to remove thin-set from an OSB subfloor. It's been perfect for the job. I do wish that Home Depot stocked the replacement blades, but I'm going to try to finish the job with the single blade. I've done about 200 sq/ft and it definitely worked better at the start. That being said, what a time saver it's been. The blade on the end of saw all couldn't hold a candle to this blade on my Dewalt SDS hammer.

Definitely not even close to being worth $100. Only did 200 sf and it broke. Looks like the blade is replaceable but Home Depot doesn’t sell those

            Works well
Works well when new or sharpened, but dulls after about 30 minutes busting up ceramic tiles and standard white thin set.

            Gets the job done.
Perfect scrapping tool. I used it to remove the old wood from the underside of my boats deck. Angle and sharpness were perfect.

I have rented this style floor scraper many times from Home Depot and have used the same blade for up to four days straight and never has a blade cracked. I just broke the second blade after a days use and the first one that came with it lasted 2 days

Almost didn't buy after reading the reviews about the screws falling out.
So I read all the reviews about the screws falling out and wasn't going to purchase it. That was until I checked it out in the store and the new updated version comes with through bolts and locking nuts. I've used it multiple hours and none of the nuts have loosened at all. Just wanted to come and make this review because it looks like Milwaukee is listening to their customers and continuing to improve their products.

German made steel! If I am going to put a bit on my demo hammer I want to be sure it will do it's job, not fail and possibly hut me.This bit meets that standard. I loaded it in my demo hammer and tried it on some spilled concrete the previous owners left on my driveway. It took all of it off and I had enough control that I didn't damage the surface beneath. I then tried it on some bricks that had come loose on the chimney to get the old mortar off so I could reset them. I got a bit excited with the first one and chipped some of the brick but once I got it down the rest were cleaned off and ready to go back on. Next is the old tile counter top but my wife thinks I should have a plan in place and the replacement materials before I destroy the old counter top. After everything you cant even tell the bit was used, I expect this thing to last a long time.

First, this is an SDS Max chisel, not a SDS Plus chisel, so make sure you get the correct shaft size for your hammer drill. The chisel makes quick work of removing mortar from brick and block for reuse. It also works great cutting a hole in asphalt paving. The tip of the 2-inch wide chisel is double-beveled to a sharp, 60-degree angle. Holding the shaft at a 30-degree angle to the work surface puts the beveled face parallel to the work surface without gouging. There is plenty of “meat” on the wide part of the chisel to allow it to be sharpened with a grinder many times. The actual width of the chisel is just under 2-inches, the overall length is 14-7/8-inches and the working length from the nose of the hammer drill chuck to the chisel tip is approximately 12-inches. The construction is typical Milwaukee: heavy duty. The product is made in…Germany!

I have been a builder and remodeler for 50 years, and as such I have had many occasions where I had to use a SDS for a variety of jobs. But for the really tough jobs my cordless Milwaukee SDS MAX beaker really comes into its own. And this MILWAUKEE 2 IN. X 15 IN. SDS-MAX STEEL SCALING CHISEL does a beautiful job breaking up concrete, especially older and harder concrete. I like Milwaukee tools for their rugged, heavy duty tools, and this bit is no exception. This no cheap made in china tool, (see the photo). I am won over!

I used this 2”x15” SDS-MAX scaling chisel with my Milwaukee 1¾” SDS-Max rotary hammer to break up a concrete fence footer in order to put in a new post. For this project I also used Milwaukee’s bull point and 3”x12” scaling chisels. I preferred the 2” over the 3” scaling chisel since it's a little longer and easier on my back. It also seemed to transfer more impact energy due to the smaller surface area of the chisel. Of course it was also sharper because it was new. In general, I prefer using Milwaukee bits because I feel like they last longer than others. Do they last 20% longer? I can’t attest to the advertising, but I can say they get the job done and done well.

I did not check the shank size versus my hammer drills before ordering this and I should have. I was not surprised it did not fit my little Skil battery powered drill but I was surprised it did not fit my big HF hammer drill. I guess there are bigger drills out there. It seems well made and machined but I would know more if it had fit one of my drills. I downgraded it a bit because it arrived with a few shallow rust spots on the shank. Seems like a good option IF it fitts your equipment.

                Something Wrong With Bolts
Using item to scrape thin set off of concrete slab. It does the job just fine but with one huge major problem. Returned item to the HD twice. Finally gave up trying. Something very wrong the the bolts on this item. They fall out after about 60 seconds of use. No amount of tightening will keep them from falling out.

                  Didn’t last more than 200sf!
Bought this locally to help remove 1200sf of tile in my house and HD was the only place in town that had a floor scraper. Worked well at first, but a piece of the blade chipped off shortly after I began and it all went downhill from there... Very unimpressed with this blade. I had used one a few years ago for 1000sf of thinset removal and it worked like a charm! Wish I could remember what brand that one was...

                    Good tool - Bad bolts . . .
Like Many of the reviews you read here, the tool works great, but the blade retaining bolts back-out (come loose) after very short time :/ The bolts should have Loctite on threads from factory, or be through-bolted with lock nuts. Fortunately, I was able to use the tool (with blades removed) to finish the job. (removed 25 square feet of vinyl flooring from concrete - bathroom) I do recommend this floor scraper, but don't use until (you) Loctite the blade retaining bolts. Again, good tool - Bad bolts !

SAved me a ton of time
This is a great tool, only problem the bolts come loose every 2 minutes! Easy solution however, when you buy this attachment go over to nuts and bolts and buy 3 5/8 x 1" bolts and 3 5/8 NYLOCK nuts. Before you even start take those crap bolts it comes with out and put in the new ones. The bolts will come slightly loose but with the nylock nuts they will never come out! With this tool I could take out 10sqft of tile and thinset in about 15 minutes. I striped out 750sqft of tile from my house in a weekend and saved $2500 over having someone do it for me. Friendly hint before removing thinset, pour plenty of water on it and let it soak for about 5 minutes and you have dust free removal! I paired this with the Milwaukee 5262-21 Rotary Hammer and it made the job easy!

We are using this for breaking geodes. Our son is becoming a rock hound and has found some of the more solid rocks to difficult to break with just a hammer (or smashing with a sock). So, short of a tile saw, we thought we would give this heavy chisel a try. The very first rock was proof that this was a great choice - it was nearly solid. Even with the chisel it took some work but it worked! The second one broke beautifully with this!! Very pleased this is working so well for us!

Good bit, it fits a little looser in the hammer than I would like but it does the job (who knows, maybe that's on purpose... just wasn't something I was used to). Good strong steel, with very little damage to the bit beyond dulling the point (expected). It made quick work of snapping these old sidewalk slabs in half. I just need to snap them in half once or twice more and then I can man handle them into truck to get rid of them. Remember to rock the bit back and forwards a little so this doesn't just drive itself deep in and get stuck!

When it comes to moil point chisels you can’t do any better than this one. This one is made for the long haul and you will quickly notice that when you handle it. These are used in the MX Fuel breaker hammers. They are made for truly serious work. Breaking concrete, rocks, etc. My observations: • Well-made/forged from high grade steel. I couldn’t find any manufacturing or quality issues anywhere on it. • There is a family of tip types to cover your needs. This one is really for chipping, breaking and starting holes. • Coated to prevent rust. • This sound weird, however I like that the sticker came off cleanly without leaving residue to me to clean off. Just a pet peeve of mine. It’s another well-made Milwaukee product. I can’t see anyone being dissatisfied with the quality or life span of this of this chisel. If you are breaking concrete/rocks this is a great choice to use with a breaker hammer. I recommend.

Often in my business, deconstructing concrete is a complete necessity. Recently in a parking lot deconstruction it was necessary to demolish some light pole pads as well as break up other concrete debris to allow for more compacted hauling. The Milwaukee 1-1/8 x 16 steel hex chisel was the tool of choice on this job. Blasting through the mentioned debris with the jack hammer, this chisel worked like a champ, blasting through tons of concrete and holding it's edge better than most of brands. With some tools, price is the last consideration. When I can get the job done quickly and have my tools come through without needing maintenance, that's the tool I want.

Behold! Excalibur! I took this MILWAUKEE 1 IN. CARBIDE SDS-MAX FLAT CHISEL BIT out to the yard to challenge some of the boulders on my property I'd like to arrange a lot more to my advantage. I began to push it into a stone attached to the hammer drill and it sunk in like butter. I said to myself,"This is working very well". Then when I was satisfied I'd had my way with this boulder and this big rock would soon be more littler rocks, I went to withdraw it. There was a problem, it was stuck in there. Said to myself,"This reminds me of an old story".(The Sword in the Stone) It was buried in the rock and not coming out. So I got a sledge hammer and pounded it up and down and then side to side. I was finally able to withdraw it. After beating on it with the sledge hammer it was not bent in the least. So starting again, I used it to nibble away at the rock, knocking smaller pieces off. Make no mistake, if you put this in the hammer drill and start working, you WILL work hard. But when you are working this is a great bit to help you get the job done. Milwaukee tools, synonymous with quality. This one is made in Germany. Another indication of quality. It is a great addition to the SDS Max toolkit. Not a bad price either. After drilling at the rock for about an hour it was still sharp, still had a nice edge.

The Milwaukee 1 in. x 16 in. SDS MAX Chisel is one of three I used in removing old (30+ yrs. old) floor tile in a small bathroom. Of the three, and being only one inch wide, this is what I dubbed my "fine tune" chisel. It was for those small spots where the old thin set seemed to be permanently bonded to the slab. With the right angle and the plus 21 pounds of my hammer drill you have a lot more control in removing the old stuff without damaging the slab. It is said this is a "self-sharpening" bit. It is made in Germany from high grade forged steel not like "other" no name, after market and no specs. on what type steel or how it is forged. Hint, always put a little high grade grease on the end before installing in the the chuck. Good hammer drills are not cheap, so don't use cheap bits and chisels. Milwaukee drill Milwaukee bits.

This 2 in. x 15 in. Milwaukee SDS MAX Chisel Bit is a brute. When removing some old floor tile in a bathroom you always have that section that doesn't want to come up. With the weight of the hammer drill and a little pressure I had to be careful as this bit, before you knew it, would eat right down thru the tile and thin set into the existing concrete floor if you didn't have the proper angle. High grade forged steel is what gives these bits there longevity and ability to hold an edge and makes them worth the money. It's not worth the risk to use no name aftermarket inferior bits, you pay more in the long run. Don't forget your safety glasses, mask, knee pads and gloves.

I chose this bit because I needed to remove about 15 sq. feet of floor tile in a bathroom. I have a SDS MAX Rotary hammer drill which means I needed an adapter to go from SDS max to SDS+ , see pictures below. The description says it's a "6 in." but the actual package says 6.5 in. With the vanity and commode removed and with the added length of the adapter and weight of the drill, 21+ pounds, I was amazed how quickly it busted up the old tile. I did use a couple of other bits, SDS Max style, on some rough spots. I will only use Milwaukee bits as they are made from a higher grade forged steel, compared to inferior bits that can get hot and can seize up and get stuck in the drill chuck. Fifteen square feet is not a big area but when done the edge looked the same as when I stated. Gloves, knee pads, safety glasses and a good mask are the only other thing you need.
