Both tools have a lot of power as one would expect from Milwaukee. The tracking ability is neat, but still needs some work. I left the impact on one job site and was able to track its last pinged location… BUT… I was unable to lock it down remotely to prevent someone from being able to use it or sell it. It could have been from the coin cell battery being low (user error), but either way I was disappointed in that. That being said they’re awesome tools. I knocked the hammer drill off a lift about 25’ up in the air, and when I retrieved it the bottom of the handle had a big crack in it. I was able to make the final holes in the can that I was working on, before retiring it as the handle was the only issue with it. No problems with the chuck or any electrical components. I’m keeping an eye out for a clamshell that I can swap out, and im sure it would be good as new.

I'm not going to tell you what to buy or anything, maybe my case is circumstance but about a month after owning the 2853 impact it shuddered to death. Never got wet or anything outside of normal wear or tear, was using a threaded bolt remover and was naturally inclined to push back of the head for greater initial grip, tried running slow start then power 1 power 2 and power 3, none could get a grip after a few seconds and my gun got hot too, I set it down for 5 min and tried using for something else and it was unresponsive. The design flaw is where the fan assembly is nearly touching the pcb board on the electronics assembly. The hall effect sensors that operate that field winding ended up fused to the plastic base of the fan that cools off the tool.

M18 Fuel Hammer Drill and Impact Driver w/one key is a kit that I chose to start my Milwaukee tools journey. Having been a Master Mechanic for over 35 years I have been thru all the over priced tool truck brands that always left me feeling disappointed. The Milwaukee products have been outstanding so far and hold up well to daily use in the repair shop, easily out performing tools off the tool trucks and including a better warranty. Seems like a no brainer at this point. I'll buy more soon!

Excellent battery life extremely lightweight and durable

Strong amd light weight drills with exceptional batteries (would prefer 12.0 HD obviously) but performs great and love the onekey. I got lucky getting this set on sale for 220$ the milwaukee rep at HD said it was the last one

Love the one key technology, being able to track it is huge. Haven't used the drill yet, but I've used the impact a fair bit, and have been leaving it at my friend's auto repair garage and they're blown away. I removed most of my bell housing bolts with it, and even use it to remove lugs. Don't know if it'll get em on tight enough yet, need to find out. My complaint is that it didn't come in a packout case. The most expensive of that type of set should've come with a packout case. Plus that'd help y'all sell em, "hey honey, this already works with it, I might as well get the rest of the setup to use it". Caution, breaks normal socket adapter bits, broke 2 within a week. We just picked up a Milwaukee bit hoping it'll hold up. Picture attached is the second bit. Note how twisted it is.

I thought the Milwaukee Gen3 impact/drill was already perfect, but now that they added the One-Key option to them, they are hands down the best buy you can make today. Firstly, the power that these tools have are absolutely insane. I have used every new drill/impact on the market today, and nothing comes close to the power and build quality that these have. Driving lags, screws and lugs is impressive, but blasting through concrete with the hammer drill is just insane. The speed that these tools have are nuts, and the torque while sinking 1-1/2 paddle bits is just mind blowing As for build, these guns will last forever. I have beaten these down just to see how far I could push them, and they just won't stop. Not only are these the most powerful beasts on the market, they are also much smaller than most of the others. Extremely light weight and comfortable in the hands, they allow you to get into tighter areas than the larger guns will. The over mold is also slip resistant, and just feels great. Some of my favorite features (other than pure power) is the safety overdrive on the drill. It will prevent you from ripping your arm off if the bit gets stuck, and One-Key functions are amazing. The one-key has all the same features as it did before sushi as location, information indicators, last seen etc. But a cool new feature now allows you to fence in your tools right from the app. If the tools go outside the designated area, the app will alert you. Not only are these tools brutally powerful, but they are smart. Brains and bronze is not something you always see in a tool, but this is pure professional grade right here, and you even get two 5Ah batteries and a hard case... they just can't be beat

This is one of Milwaukee's newest combination hammer drill and impact driver set. The kit is supplied with two XC5.0 RedLithium batteries, charger and hard shell carrying case. There are some wonderful features that I found worked really well. This is part of the Fuel series which delivers more power in a more compact at faster speeds. Both the drill and the impact driver have a very nice balanced feel while being held. The 5Ah batteries do add a bit of heft to the them but the run time is incredible. As a DYI person working on projects I have yet to run out of battery juice while working on an all day project. The batteries have LED fuel meters that allow you to monitor the amount of battery charge available. Located just near the base and just above the battery is the mode selector that allows you to select the speed and pair with the One Key system. This system uses Bluetooth to sync to your smartphone with the Milwaukee app which allows you to set various profiles on your tools that are appropriate for the material you're working with. In addition One Key it allows you to track your tools and even disable them if they are lost or stolen. Some pretty cool stuff that merges powerful compact cordless tools with the latest technology available. This Milwaukee combo kit is backed by a Five Year Warranty on these tools and a Three Year Warranty on the batteries.

In my opinion this is the best hammer drill/impact set on the market. At first I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to understand one key but the kit has instructions that helped me out setting it up. And that feature is true innovation. I can literally set the drill or impact perfectly to any application through my phone. I can also lock it, track it and just so much info. The drill and impact are so compact but can pack a serious punch for any tough job are definitely heavy duty. Battery life is awesome. It comes with two 5ah and they last all day. Using it in a remodel for all types of jobs from drilling holes in wood, concrete , driving down lags for a patio, electrical, and a lot more and had zero issues and no down time waiting for batteries to charge since battery life is so good . Exceeded my expectations. The case is nice and made of tough plastic. I wish it would’ve came with the rapid charger since it is the top of the chain for drill sets. But the one it has is good. I’ve used and owned quite a few other brands but this is definitely the most compact and most powerful with the best features. Would recommend to anyone.

Another great product from Milwaukee, the impact driver and the hammer drill really can get the job done. Not only can they get the job done but with the one key feature they can get multiple jobs done right each time. When you look at One Key you really can tell Milwaukee is trying to be on the front edge of technology that can really help the user out. Obviously some features in one key are better than others but the fact that you can preset drill setting with One Key is kind of a game changer. Also the security features they have added are really good and they make it easier for you to identify your tool if your drill gets mixed in with a few other Milwaukee drills. The impact driver has plenty of power with it. I used it on some inch to 2 inch think wood with different size spade bits and it had no problem powering right through each piece of wood. It also easily set a 2 inch screw into place. The hammer drill is no slouch either. I had no problem drilling with it through wood using Milwaukee's Titanium bits. I would definitely recommend this set but would also recommend you actually read the manual before using the drill/driver so you can take full advantage of all the features one key has to offer.

Good quality just wish it came with bits. The fact that a drill this price doesn’t come with common set of bits is crazy.

This is the third set I have bought. The last set is still running but I passed it down to my son for his remodel. The original 1/2 hammer drill is still running but the top handle can no longer be attached. The lugs broke off running a 6" hole saw through steal the second week after 322 holes. I would and do recommend this set to every one.

Very impressed with the performance and quality of these drills. If they didn't the hammer drill didn't have a safety switch I could see it doing some damage to your wrist. Great price, quality performance, stout machines.

You can control everything from how much hammer the hammer mode does to locking the drill if you have to walk away from it
