My 2005 Nite Ize 3-LED Combo Upgrade had a smooth, wide beam fixed pattern with adequate brightness, but had become intermittent. The replacement Combo Upgrade II is a bit brighter and adjusts from spot to flood, but its pattern is not as smooth. I'm using a modified Mini Maglite reflector, which I prefer to the Nite Ize reflector. Using two NiMH cells @ 2.6V, my Nite Ize II draws just .07A (0.18W), vs .18A for the 2005 Nite Ize and .28A for the halogen bulb. It should last 30 hrs/charge.

Perfect retrofit for a maglite mini, even though it was made in late 1980s. Basically brings your older incandescent maglites to the age of LEDs! Super bright and easy to install. Definitely recommend this for all maglites with incandescent bulbs.

Cool way to resurrect old Mini Maglites!

Replacement of the xenon lamp is straight forward. Original lamp puts out marginal lighting, even in dark conditions. This replacement LED head is not as bright as Mag-Lite's factory head but it is less expensive. This LED head puts out significantly more light which is useful. You can purchase an older Mini Mag-lite brand new and this head and have a better light for cheaper. I keep one in my truck, one on my keychain, and two in my first aid kit. You can use the pushbutton switch or rotate the head as usual for Mag-lite products. I've had the one on my keychain for two years without fail. Certainly meets the expectations.

Don't waste your money, just buy an LED flashlight. It keeps the infamous dark spot in the center of the beam. Makes the normal smooth Maglite(r) focus very finicky. The focus will turn the light off (like a normal maglite) but so will the switch. Then you have to fiddle around to figure out why it's not coming on. I don't like spending $$$ on the regular bulbs, but this kit doesn't improve the performance enough and actually makes it worse.

It works perfect! But, I decided to reinstall the original endcap, which leaves me in the dark. Seems like the LED conversion kit only works with the push-button endcap?

Was glad to find this as a LED replacement for the old zenon bulb, and the new off and on switch is great.

Bought two of them. Tried on two different mag lights, couldn't get them to work.

Easy install, upgrades mini-maglite's brightness, and bulb durability.

LED is not as bright as competitors' offerings. Not sure why NiteIze doesn't upgrade their offering to match current technology. Instructions are pretty bad and are printed on the inside of the packaging which ripped when I opened it. Due to poor instructions, I ended up taking apart the switch without needing to and one of the metal contacts fell out. When I tried to reassemble the switch, this contact broke. Called CS and Brian was extremely helpful and nice, but I still had to call Maglite for the replacement part. Of course Maglite didn't make that easy at all. Thought I'd like the push-button switch, but I don't. It feels very aftermarket and it leaves the flashlight without a ring to attach anything to it. Because the bulb base sticks out further than the original, the focusing functionality is very limited. If you twist the head just a little, it basically feels like it's about to fall off.

I already wrote a review about this outstanding kit, but noticed that some folks were having a little bit of a problem. My advice is to take your time, there are very small parts especially if your eyes are worst for wear. Everything will come together with care. I had a little trouble with the tail cap switch just be patient, it works very well.

This upgrade package is great, not only did they include the LED but also a new reflector and a really neat tail cap pushbutton switch. Get it

Took less than two minutes to install. Very easy. Love the button on the back to turn it on. Not as bright maybe as I expected, but for cost and new features it was better than buying just new bulbs separately. Happy with purchase.

This put life back into a dim mag lite. Much brighter and very easy to convert.

Once I watched the video in the Instructions + Warning on the top of this page as to the proper sequence for assembly it was quite easy and works great

This LED upgrade is pretty good, certainly an improvement over incandescent bulbs. Only thing I don't like is that with this conversion installed, the front assembly of the light only screws on for a couple of threads before bottoming out, so it's not on there all that securely.

The upgrade kit brought my mini Maglight to life.broWorks well .

I like the push button switch it is more reliable than the twist on way. I wish the head of the light would not have to be screwed so far out to get the beam to focus though.
