Don’t waste your money. I ran out of the other brand and bought Olympic Waterguard. I had a little left of the other Brand and then started using Olympic for some pergola parts. I left it to dry for about an hour then it started raining and when I came out, Olympic didn’t repel squat!

I sprayed 11 sections of dog eared fence panels with my graco sprayer with a 411 tip and it layed down nice. A nice rich but not overpowering cedar tone.

Applied easily, looks beautiful. Hopefully holds up to the Wisconsin weather changes!

I sanded and re stained my kid’s playground and the Olympic Waterguard semi transparent maple brown stain and sealer looks AMAZING!!

Very pleased. Easy to apply, looks great and it lasts even in the abusive sun my deck gets.

It repels water like advertised. I used a spray gun to apply it onto a raised garden. I was worried because it went on milky white, then dried clear.

I purchased the Thompson Red Sequoia from HD for my fence, then later had to replace a few slats, but HD no longer carried the Thompson, so had to get the Olympic. Same color, but it didn't match, may have to apply several coats to try to match it.

Bought the cedar stain sealer. The color was nearly as orange as home depot aprons. Was a sticky feeling when dried. Had to sand it all off and went with thompsons sealer. It coated much better and wasn't sticky at all. Even went over the sides we didn't sand off the Olympic sealer and it absorbed right in. (It shold have beaded up) even left those sides non sticky. Would not use again.

While I love the convenience of the spray can for small projects, the color did not look like the color on the can. I made 6 birdhouses, and stained the outside of all of them with this. Rather than being any sort of brown, it was a loud, unnatural, screaming pumpkin or rust orange. I wish I'd had the option of maple brown color in the spray can

I used the transparent woodland cedar stain on a 3mo old pine stockade fence. Like a lot of reviews here, I will also state that the dry stain doesn't match the color advertised on the label. However, I knew they ahead of time from these reviews and I do like the final color. I applied by paint brush and stuck to the 1gal containers. A couple things that I learned along they way: (1) it's tough to mix an unopened container as there's very little air inside. I had better luck pouring out a cup of stain into a paint tray, then shaking container, and then pouring the cup back into the container, and shaking again. Otherwise your first tray will come out thin and you'll end up needing to apply a second coat. (2) you need to shake the container every time you refill your tray because the stain will settle fast and your last tray will be super thick and dark. I've included a before pic, a couple after pics, and one warning pic of what happens if you don't mix the stain continuously during use. I like the color's contrast with the grass, trees, and flowers in my yard and I'm hoping this color lasts for a few years.

I put three coats on my deck of this at the end of fall. I scrubbed it down with a deck cleaner beforehand and gave it plenty of time to dry. Now the next spring it's already chipping everywhere. I'm going to have to paint it again which is ridiculous because I spent so much time doing it last year. Horrible product.

I wanted a semi transparent color stain to put on my powerwashed cedar fence. I picked the Woodland Cedar because the color on the can was a very natural color. I needed what i measured to be 6 gallons so we bought the 5 gallon bucket and a one gallon can. We started out with the one gallon can and we liked the color. When applying the five gallon bucket it was a more orange color. Not anything like the small can. We bought a second 5 gallon bucket and it was a lighter orange. How do they expect you to get one look when the colors arent equal. Very disappointed but it was too much work to even think of starting over so will live with it.

This product is terrible. I think HD should stop carrying it. unfortunately I was in a hurry and didn't test it first. Ruined my project. Other reviews are accurate. Basically bright orange stain like a clown would love.

Not the color I was expecting at all. Looks nothing like what's on the can. It's terracotta orange I would say. You've really got to shake this stuff start to finish as indicated in the directions. Or it'll get darker as you go and you'll find globs of paint when pouring out the can. I had blending issues I had to fix. Stuck with this horrible color for 3 years. At least the wood is protected... I hope

I just applied this finish to a patio chair I made out of Redwood. I wanted something that showed off the grain and be close to a clear coat. I ended up with this Olympic Water Guard Sequoia Red Transparent Stain/Sealer and I am overall happy with the look. The pigment is not intrusive and highlights the grain well. I can't comment on the longevity of this particular product as I just applied it, but this chair will be under a patio roof in a climate without snow so it should last a long time. It went on well and dries pretty fast, so if I ever need to recoat the piece, it won't take much effort.

I bought a clearance 5 gallon can in June 2020 for $39. Had a 59 degree day in November and decided to get the job done. This stain went on so easy and had great one coat coverage. I used a flat short bristle pad with a extension handle. My deck is approx 850 square feet. When I was done I had about 2 gallons left. Very happy with this product!

I used this on a wooden fence. See pictures attached. Good product, but make sure they shake it in the store and follow instructions to stir frequently. I tried it in a garden pump sprayer, but it did not spray well, so I applied with a 4" brush. I liked the final color.

This stain is far from transparent and NOT at all near the color on the can. i shook the can vigorously before i started , as i went the color got more and more orange to the point where there is a noticeable difference in the area of the deck where i finished. I AM FURIOUS i do not know how to correct this issue but it looks horrible and is the ORANGE of a pumpkin. DO NOT BUY DO NOT BUY unless you want your cedar to be ORANGE

This product is a lie. It says transparent but applies and drys ORANGE. This product is a scam and I would not recommend it to anyone, find another brand.

Im not sure who wants their wood to be orange, but if so this color is for you. We tested the stain out on one picket and will be taking it back for a different color. Application and clean up with a paint brush was easy

Looking for a clear sealer for our deck, you can see that is a pink/orange color, not transparente at all as you can see in my photo (I only can upload one). Now I have a 5Gallons can that we dont like and wasted $90. If you want a clear and TRANSPARENT sealer, dont buy this one.

I had gone to extreme lengths prepping the 16’ boards and spent a lot of time setting them up in a secondary location to stain them before installing as not being able to walk on them for 24hrs was not an option (only entrance). I let them dry for 28 hrs where it was 75 degrees and low humidity, let them dry for an additional 5 hours in the sun and placed them down on the deck. I sprayed a light mist over them with a hose to ensure they were dry and water would pool on top, which it did. I was super happy and glad it was finally done. Then we took a few steps on them and the foot prints were permanently there. We had a little bit of dirt on our shoes which somehow penetrated right in and became part of the stain. After how much time I spent cleaning, sanding, prepping, applying, etc. I was furious.

Easy to apply and did an excellent job of sealing the new pergola.

I bought this to use on my recently completed fence, which stretches hundreds of feet around my property. I read all of the instructions here online for this product very carefully and then followed them and the results were excellent. I made sure the temperature outside was right, I had sprayed down my fence boards first, I stirred the waterguard thoroughly, I used an electric paint sprayer to evenly distribute it up and down all the fence boards on both sides of my new fence, and it absorbed well and has been keeping the water off my boards. If I keep a sprinkler right on the boards they do start to absorb some water after half an hour of watering, but if it just occasionally hits the fence then it repels the water well. A couple of notes: I used nearly half the amount of product that was recommended. I had bought two of the large tubs and only dipped into the second one. Oh well. I'll keep it and use it next summer, as the product recommends reapplication every year. It took about three hours to do my fence with the one tub, mostly on the "low" speed of the sprayer, with someone to help me keep refilling the small paint sprayer container. Very happy with the product, ease of use, and the price point and would recommend.

I bought this yesterday and was looking for a true brown color. Very red hue. Even redder than Thompson’s autumn brown. So glad I did not get 1 or 5 gal. I guess I will have to experiment with some Cabot products.

This is a horrible product! I purchased five cans in the acorn brown stain. The first four cans had a red tint to them. The last can had a brown tint to it and was a completely different color. Now my deck is two toned!

First time user, seemed to do the job. I used it to coat some common wood on my deck for my kids 10 foot round pool. I hate painting so I used a sprayer and followed with a brush. It was a bit of mess but that is how I roll anyway

I applied this stain/sealer to PT lumbers used as kick board and cap rail for a newly built cedar privacy fence. It makes those pieces blend in with adjacent cedar pickets. Hopefully it will last a while in terms of color.
