Structurally strong, but the lumber is "construction grade," meaning that it has many imperfections, and several of the pieces were warped. I needed a belt sander and lots of wood filler to make the table safe (no splinters), and I used an exterior stain/preservative to make it presentable. The table turned out okay in the end, but next time I'll splurge on a higher-quality product to avoid all that work.

You get what you pay for! There is nothing Premium about this so the name is misleading. That said, I spent a couple of hours with a portable belt sander and a palm sander and made it usable. Some nice stain and it turned out pretty good.

this does not work
The truth is, for the price I paid, I expected something much better, the wood is useless, it is chipping and comes broken, the screws are not complete either.

Chunky Pallet Wood
The kit is wrapped in cardboard so you can't see the splintered pallet wood scraps used to build this table. The parts that are pre-assembled are attached with dozens of cheap box nails that will never last a year outside. Get yourself a flap sanding wheel with an angle grinder and plan on sanding this rustic mess for a couple hours. Probably a good idea to put in some deck screws to replace the box nails. Because this was on sale, it was cheaper than new wood so I kept it.

A little elbow grease with some boiled Linseed oil to protect it and I rank it up there among the 500 dollar sets.

As expected
I could see how some would receive various quality of wood. I feel like I may have gotten lucky! I didn’t have any issue during install. Assembly went together smoothly with no assistance from a helper. Wife picked out a deck stealer color and off we were. Only a one day project, stained and assembled. If you can live with some imperfections (it’s only a picnic table) I think it’s a great purchase.

Sturdy and looks great!
This picnic table is great and very sturdy. It was easy to assemble, but it you have an elevated work surface that would make it much easier. It did not come with instructions as the box stated, but I was able to find a YouTube video from the company that walked us through all of the steps.

Can’t beat it for 200 bucks!
Yes the wood has imperfections but they can be fixed. Also our table measured 71x 27 but close enough. It was delivered assembled too so God bless Home Depot!
We’re gonna’ do a little sanding and staining. If you’ve priced wooden picnic tables lately you will appreciate how sturdy and affordable this one is.
We love it!

I believe they make these picnic tables out of the bad lumber that customers toss aside in the stores. I thought this would save me time and money, but I spent hours filling the cracks and holes with wood putty and sanding it before I could paint it. Nails that held the table top and benches together were splitting the wood and some were nailed over the edge of the boards so they protruded out. With the help of my 13 year old daughter, we completely, disassembled the table, rounded the ends of the boards, sanded, spray painted, and varnished to make it look like it was built off giant popsicle sticks. The end result looks great, but next time, I'll hand select the lumber and build one from scratch.

Disappointing wood quality
You can't beat the price of this picnic table, if you can find it. I saw it at my local Home Depot out in front of the store and thought it was a great idea but when I went back the next weekend, they were sold out. I wound up driving an hour to another store just to find one.
I was really excited until I opened the package and started putting it together. The wood was of very poor quality with huge cracks. They didn't mention this in the instructions but you will DEFINITELY want to do a really good sanding of the wood prior to putting it together. And you NEED a power sander to do so.

It’s perfeft because it’s not perfect.
Some pieces had holes that weren’t fully drilled, some planks were a bit crooked, I had to sand some mold, and I stained the wood with Ready Seal Natural Cedar. I used about $15 worth of stain with two coats. Overall it was a fun project that my friend and I completed in a few hours (including the stain curing time). In the end, the picnic table looks and feels great. My whole family loves it. Embrace the imperfections and you will really like this picnic table.

For the price it’s passable, but it is very low quality scrap wood, including old id stencil. Raw edges made it hard to assemble solidly. There is nothing “premium” about it.

45 minutes to assemble. 2 days to sand and stain. Total splinter factory. Wood looked like it had been thrown off a building before it was bundled into a kit.

Completely warped within first season
I’m on my way to get new table top boards and seat bench boards to replace. The wood in this kit is utter garbage (hence the price). The base of it is still in great condition which is its only saving grace. All the top boards are terrible- avoid if you can.

Dear Tina, Outdoor Essentials is sorry to hear this product did not meet your expectations. We do value you as a customer and can assure you that our picnic tables are normally of excellent quality. However, as wood dries, it may split, cup and warp, which are natural occurrences of wood. If you are still in need of a picnic table, please see a Pro Associate at your local store for product availability or the possibility of completing a special order for what you need. If there is anything that we, as the manufacturer, can do regarding the picnic table, please contact us at CustomerService@OutdoorEssentialProducts.com, and one of our customer service representatives will be happy to assist you.

Picnic table made from scrap wood
Do not be deceived by the product photos. Bought this table kit today. Brought it home and unwrapped it. Most of the wood has splinters and knots. It's like they purposely culled through the lumber yard to find the scrap material to cut and assemble the basic parts. I wasn't expecting fine furniture, but this is ridiculous. Not worth the gas to return it or worth the sealer to weather proof it. I will need to spend time cleaning it up the best I can so we don't get splinters and if it lasts a season or two I will be surprised. Then it goes on the burn pile. And not worth the effort to include photos. Trust me, it's pretty much junk. Should be sold for half the price if that.

Pre-drilled holes were not predrilled - and the construction was such it wasn't possible to even drill them (many nails in the way). It therefore was not possible to construct the table.
