Customer Reviews for Pennington 10 lbs. Wild Bird Seed Food

I purchased this wild bird seed and the bag has chips of wood in it. I'll show some images. It's got all kinds of trash in the bag. I really expect more from a birdseed company. On Pennington's website, they have reviews from 2 years ago about this trash. Apparently, they still don't care. Nowhere on the package does it say anything about wood or trash. Oh and I'm paying for 20lbs. of birdseed and trash, not just birdseed. The photo shows pieces of wood that were right on the surface. I didn't have to search for these pieces of wood. We'll have another photo after most of the seed has been eaten to see how much wood is left. We'll determine how much wood we are paying for :(

Our wild birds love it!!

The birds love that we put this out for them. We like feeding the birds and bringing in the wildlife to our yard. Since we had to cut down the “bird tree” due to disease, we have put this back where the tree was on flower hooks. That has kept the birds coming back through the disruption.

Birds love it feeder empty every week

I just recently moved so I can compare this product with my last home to this one and I can see that my experience at this home was not near as good as it was where I used to live. The first thing was after two months storage in my attached garage I noticed moths fluttering around the birdseed. I wasn’t sure why but I found out some bird seeds will carry moth eggs I found an igloo cooler and stored it in that which took care of the moth problem. So for those of you that may experience this my advice would be To store it in the freezer for a couple of days and if the bag is too large get smaller bags. Now the home that I moved from was out in the country and this stuff worked fantastic. Every variety of bird you could imagine was hitting my feeder but when I moved to the city that wasn’t the case. Later I found out that the area is saturated with squirrels and quite a few few Blue Jays governed the area as well and of course that was a bit of a detriment to the effectiveness of the seed. It took a little bit of work but as you can see from the photos I constructed a squirrel guard that basically keeps large birds and squirrels for the majority of the seed. The baby squirrels can get in but the large ones cannot and after a while things started looking up as the birdseed was doing its job for the smaller birds.

Pennington Bird Food is an excellent product that I use in my outdoor bird feeder.

Birds really like it. So do the rabbits. The squirrels too much. Great value. It’s my new go to for my feeders.

Dont hang over mulch, birds toss seeds and it sprouts causing a huge mess and time consuming to clean up. fenced in yard so no squirrels or other animals to clean ground.... will invest in bird food that they want to eat.

Great size bag. We have lots of birds to feed!
