    Rusted First Season of Use
I only had this for one season, and only filled it once with clear, commercially sold liquid feeder. The birds were using it so I wanted to add more. The liquid that poured out of the base was brownish. Upon investigating the metal was rusted.

      Beautiful
So Pretty and I love the glass being heavier than the plastic feeders that get blown around and emptied by the winds. Second day hanging and the hummers started coming to feed.

      Gorgeous Hummingbird Feeder
This hummingbird feeder is so beautiful. The bottle is made of glass, in a gorgeous ruby shade. It has decorative embossing that makes it look antique. The feeder part is made of plastic that looks like copper. It's a great way to do it, as the copper might be too hot for the hummingbirds to drink from, and the plastic will keep the bottle from leaking. I've had it up for about three weeks. No leaks and the birds are getting used to it.

      We thought it was great…
We used it for a few weeks and, knowing hummings are sensitive to bacteria and such, we took it down for a good cleaning. We found the upper metal section corroded by rust on the inside, where it is in contact with the sugar water. Very bad for the birds!

        Great feeder
The hummingbirds love it and the wasps can’t get at the sugar water so they stay away, it is also very sturdy and doesn’t leak.

        A+ Quality
I compared a lot of bottles online before choosing this one and finding it cheaper at Home Depot. It arrived VERY well packaged (I picked it up at the local Canadian store). It's a gorgeous deep red and a thick glass. In fact when it just snowed unexpectedly in September the hummingbird food froze inside and I thought the bottle would break when I brought it inside to thaw. Nope. It just thawed out and is good to go. It unscrews easily at the bottom and hangs easily from the metal bar on top. The capacity is great as it doesn't need to be refilled so frequently. I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase.

        Great product for the price
I have had the plastic bottle feeders in the past that simply deteriorate in the sun. I was impressed that the bottle is a heavy glass that actually feels like an antique piece. The Bottle has some nice design work to it and reminds me of an old root beer or sarsaparilla bottle. The hook is surprisingly strong but will not come off for refill so you are not able to set the bottle upright. The base is a mixture of plastic and metal so do not over tighten it. I have had no leaks. The bottle's natural color is very attractive, and when its full of red liquid it remains vibrant red. Overall very happy with the feeder, and I would definitely recommend it.

        Great purchase!
This hummingbird feeder holds 10 ounces of nectar, the base top is brushed nickel and the base is plastic. The bases has four flower feeding spots that are a dull red. The green antique bottle is very stylish and looks greqt hanging on our back deck. The handle hook is on the small side but was able to hand it from a metal hook. The glass is a light green, and the red nectar still looks red through the green glass. And the best thing is the feeder does not drip any nectar!! The feeder did not come with any instructions, it came in pieces and it took me about fifteen minutes to put it together.

        Happy Hummingbirds
Classic bottle design. Red flowers with plastic base. Screw bottle to seal feeding flowers to plastic bottom. Hummingbird friendly nectar. Four cups of distilled water. Must be distilled as the birds do not well with minerals know to be in all water. They also cannot tolerate softened water. Okay four cups of distilled water and one cup sugar. No food color bad for the hummingbirds. Keep nectar refrigerated and change daily. Happy hummingbird watching. Clean feeder frequently.

        Decorative eye candy.
This is one expensive humming bird feeder, and my hummers avoid it but to be honest; I like it too much to move it or get rid of it.

        VERY nice design!
Thick glass, pleasant appearance, and a great thing to watch after you fill it up. I fumbled with obtaining the correct mixture of water/sugar and then added 1/2 can of lemon-lime "Sprite" soda and got excellent results!

        Beautiful, high-quality hummingbird feeder
The Perky Pet Red Antique Glass hummingbird feeder is a beautiful addition to my front porch and should last a lifetime due to the quality of construction and copper vs plated steel feed ports and manifold. The bottom cup of the feeder is plastic and will be the first to suffer ultraviolet and infrared light damage but is of heavy enough material to last several years. Hanging the feeder requires a "S" hook and mounting eye which was not supplied with the assembly. The feeder is hung just outside my kitchen window and the rays from the rising sun through the antique glass bottle provided a red, dazzling glow to my work area in the morning hours. The hummingbirds got used to it the first day and are battling each other for a queue at the feeder. This is a fine product and should withstand the test of time as well as the many hummingbird battles.

Attractive option if you make your own sugar-based nectar
We decided to give this hummingbird feeder a try since my wife makes her own hummingbird nectar by dissolving regular granulated sugar with warm water. We have the clear plastic feeders however if the sugar water is too warm, we found that it can distort the clear plastic container causing the plastic hummingbird feeder to fall apart (the pressure fit top that suspends the feeder comes away from the plastic container and the feeder is then useless). The plastic feeders are clear it also leaves us with clear liquid instead of the red colored nectar like the type sold in the special packets but the hummingbirds don't seem to mind this too much. Since the bottle for this feeder is glass, there weren't any problems with the home made nectar being too warm and since its pre-colored red, we can mix the sugar water and the color will still be red like the more expensive specially colored nectar you can buy in the packets. The only criticsms are that the bottle neck is narrower than a typical feeder so you need a jug or a funnel to fill it and it will need a bottle brush to clean it out every once in a while. The bottom of the feeder is an attractive brushed copper and has a protective coating. This is helpful since my wife normally sprays the area around the feeder holes with pan release spray to keep the bees away. One further note about this feeder is that the wire hook that suspends the feeder needs to be hung from a vertical hook. We used a 3/4" cup hook to ensure that the feeder wouldn't fall and break. You could use a shoulder hook mounted horzontally however we weren't sure if that would hold the weight of the full feeder over the long run. The vintage look to the feeder is very attractive and a nice addition to my wife's bird feeding station as can be seen from the picture.

The red coating came off after washing in dishwasher after owning for less than a week. The rubber backed flower feeding holes fell out of 2 of the 4 holes. Very disappointing. Bought at Home Depot at end of season and not cheap in price.

The feeder already is attracting hummingbirds, and the red glass in the bottle precludes any use of dye when preparing the sugar water. All in all, this is a sturdy, handy, convenient hummingbird feeder.

Product was discounted. First the birds weren't coming to it. Then I moved it to a different location and now they are fighting over it.

        Leaks
This feeder leaks where the copper meets the plastic. I even applied some clear caulk around it and it still leaks like crazy, which then attracts yellowjackets. Cute design, poor execution.

          Leaks
I was able to get a small leak stopped where the 2 piece base joins by creating a Rubber gasket using electrical tape. However, soon discovered when hung from our shepherd hook that when a breeze causes the feeder to sway, the liquid humming bird food leaks from the rosettes. Very attractive feeder but leaks. Bummer

We are sorry to hear this! Be sure to check that the base is tight, and that the bottle neck threads line up correctly to help prevent leaking. For best results, we recommend hanging the feeder in the shade as well as out of high traffic or windy areas. If you continue to be unhappy with your purchase, please feel free to contact the original retailer for assistance with a refund.
