after a year which makes it too long to return the part holding the bird feeder on the Shepard hooks broke and made it in usable

We love these All Metal Perky-Pet bird feeders & highly recommend them as they're almost indestructible even in our harsh Northern Maine weather!

If you take it apart to fill, look at picture of feeder to be sure cones inside are properly oriented.

Easy to assemble. Messy to fill so do it outside. Attracted goldfinches right away!

I know this looks weird. We are in Chicago. Pigeons and house sparrows will devour everything we put out in an hour or less. The photo shows the rather extreme response necessary to keep pigeons off the feeder.

Had it for 2 years in all elements. Only taken down to clean and fill. Top and bottom come off. Perfect for sunflower seeds. It has holes in the bottom for drainage. I will buy another IF this one ever wears out.

Great feeder for smaller birds! Our American Gold Finches and Song Sparrows love this feeder. We have counted 12 birds feeding on it at one time, with more waiting in the neighboring tree for their turn to feast. I did a lot of research prior to purchasing this feeder and knew I wanted to try the open air mesh feeder in effort to minimize mold growth at the bottom of the feeder. I like how easy it is to clean and refill. There is some Niger thistle spillage out the mesh when filling the feeder, but no more than would be expected with any other brand of this tube feeder. I highly recommend this feeder. Great price at Home Depot too!

I love how easy it is to undo the top or bottom for filling. I get a lot of pretty gold and purple finches now that there's two on either side of the house. It also has a neat screw bottom for standing it up on a pole. One of the easiest bird feeders to deal with, and the yellow color makes it pop in the yard.

Great feeder for sunflower seed that does not end up with a bunch of seed on the ground. I have had it for two seasons and liked it enough to purchase a second one. Great for attracting cardinals, finches, woodpeckers and even an oriole. Have never had an issue with seed being wet/moldy. Removing/replacing the top to fill with seed is a bit awkward as you have to see where the locking tabs are to get it just right. If not for that I would have given five stars.

I have the yellow finch feeder from this line and love it, so I wanted this one for sunflower. It took forever to finally track one down in stock, because bird feeders are all the rage for Covid summer. I have barely had it a month and like a previous reviewer the top ring completely pulled off of the feeder, which sent it crashing to the ground, bending the mesh tube, as well. I tried to glue it back together, but even Gorilla glue couldn't hold it. I'm super disappointed, because I haven't had any issues with the finch feeder and was expecting similar quality for this one.

The birds won’t go near it I have another one hanging next to it that’s smaller and they’ll eat all the seeds out of that one but they have not yet gone to this one it’s been full since I bought it

This bird feeder is very sturdy & well made. The bright yellow adds color to our feeding area. I would highly recommend this product.

Had this feeder now for 3 years and still looks and performs great. Birds love it, especially winter goldfinches we have in the Far North Dallas area. Easy to clean and fill.

Had the feeder for a month, the top hanging circle broke on second filling. Like others have experienced it was rusted and not sturdy enough for bearing the weight of the feeder.

Swarms of finches

The Goldfinches love it. I've seen up to 7 goldfinches on it (before they start to chase each other off). Other finches and smaller birds use it when the Goldfinches aren't around. It fits thistle seed wonderfully. No problems keeping the top or bottom on (it's metal - if the fit becomes loose over time, it's easy to bend the flanges down a bit to get the friction fit back again). Filling it is easy - twist off the top and pour in the seed. There are two cone baffles inside to keep the seed distributed top to bottom - when filling, the seed drops down through the baffles to the lower levels easily. This has been much better than the 4-perch models I've tried as it fits almost twice the number of birds for the same feeder size.

Was great the first 2 weeks and attracted finches. I filled the feeder and went to hang it on my shepherds hook and the part to hang it came right off the top of the feeder. You can see where it was assembled and came right apart it was discolored and rusted. I am unable to hang/use it now.

We put the finch feeder up and within 24 hours we had 12 yellow finches! Then we noticed 2 days later we have a husband and wife Western Tanagers coming. How fun is that!!!!

Holds a week's worth of feed, and the internal baffles ensure that all the seed is eaten. Easy to tune up the release slots with pliers so that it can't be unscrewed by varmints. On my way to get two more!

The bird feeder is great overall. Its easy for the birds to use and it looks nice. The dish at the bottom has holes that are designed to drain water away but they are too small to overcome the surface tension of the water so the water evaporates instead of drains. And that's not really that big of a deal.

The combination of large openings and diverting spacers cause half the seed to scatter all over the ground when filled and more so when the finches feed. Makes a mess!

The design of the tube itself is very clever keeping seed at all levels as long as possible. I would give this product a 5 star rating except for what I consider to be a design flaw where the top attaches to the tube. The attachment is made by rotating the top slightly into tabs in the tube. The problem is that the rotation is very slight and I have had the feeder fall to the ground from it’s top to the delight of the squirrels and other ground feeders. The bottom attaches the same way but is far more secure.
