It was perfect for our small sandbox project. Gentle enough for our 2 year olds and easy to clean up.

Great sand for sandboxes

It is sand. 50 lbs in a 50 lb bag. Very sandy.

My 21 month old granddaughter is having a great time in the sandbox with the sand I purchase from Home Depot. So I will say I am 100% satisfied.

This sand was an excellent choice for our new sandbox. It was on sale for $2.50/bag which was awesome. The sand itself is very soft and great for playing in. I would highly recommend it!

Pretty good sand for kids. Bought 5 bags and it filled up my daughter sand box pretty well. only problem is when the wind kicked up it would go everywhere. Mix a little water with it and you can build a nice sand castle. The bags that the sand come in could be a little stronger, got a bunch of sand in the back of the car.

It works really well for my son's sandbox and as a leveling tool under our intex pool!

Quikrete play sand is perfect for my kids sandboxes! They absolutely love to play in it every single day! Not sticky and easy cleanup!

This is not the sand that is pictured. The picture looks like it is white sand, but it is yellow sand. I ordered 5 bags of this sand for pick up and was very disappointed. Not only was it not the color pictured, but it was also full of some other material that was not sand. It seemed like some kind of clumpy blue paper fiber material. Please, see picture.

I’m in the process of building a sand and stone fire pit, and bought 26 bags of this play sand for the base you walk on. The first store I went to gave me exactly what I was looking for. That super clean and pretty white sand that reminds you of a beach. That’s what I’m going for with this project. I ordered 13 bags from that store, and the following day, I realized I needed about 13 more bags! The store closest to me had some in stock (which they didn’t the day I ordered the first batch.) so, I figured I’d order from there since it’s the same exact store, but closer to me. I ordered online and did a curbside pickup, so I wasn’t paying much attention as it was being loaded. I got home and started unloading the bags, then immediately noticed a difference! They are both the same exact thing (No. 1113) but the sand colors are different. One sand is the beautiful white, and the other is a very not so pretty brown sugar color! It’s not the white I figured it would be! Needless to say, they say the same thing, but clearly aren’t. It’s too much of a hassle to return, so I’ll be using the brown sugar color on the bottom, and scattering the pretty white on top of it. Hopefully it doesn’t look too silly.

I needed this to fill a hole in the yard, and it did a great job. Very clean and easy to spread.

Great product, as described. The bags could be thicker to prevent leakage.

I priced bags of sand online and by far this was the best value! I used the sand to fill an umbrella weight and it as served its purpose well.

No complaints at all. I bought 750 pounds worth of sand for my little ones sandbox. Glad they help me load it.

We purchased the 50lb bag of play sand in lieu of 100lb bag of silica sand to spread between stepping stones, primarily due to the weight difference. The 100lb bag was just too heavy. The grain of the play sand was fine enough and worked well for our needs. Sand is damp, when first poured from bag, but it's probably due to the plastic bag, however does dry almost immediately. We also used it under some beach pebbles to help back fill the space. For our area (approx 60 sq. ft.) it was brushed between stones, between house & stones and under rocks, we used 2 bags. Overall we are pleased with how this product performed and would purchase again.

Perfect for my sandbox project. The sand was clean and consistent with no large rocks or debris.

Great quality sand with no rocks or clumping. Dries quickly after rain. Ordered 650 lbs of it online and it was waiting for us on a dolly when we arrived at Home Depot to pick it up.

Did not notice any rocks in the first ten bags added to my son's sandbox. Bought ten more bags the next day. On the third bag, noticed many large rocks. Dug through the sand added the day before and noticed many small rocks. Returned the unopened 7 bags and part of the bag that had been added. Eventually got more bags and spent 3 hours sifting out the rocks using a sieve. Pictures are worth a thousand words. The last picture is of all the rocks removed and put on a hand towel. Sand was washed off these in the sifter over our lawn. The sand itself is nice and looks and behaves like beach sand when slightly damp.

I think it's funny, the comments complaining about dusty sand that doesn't build up too well (for sandcastles)...the packaging says to add a bit of water to keep the dust down, and when compared to sand from a beach (which is exactly what it feels like), you have to add water to that sand too, right? Anyway, great value; 3 bags put enough sand in our rectangular sandbox and there weren't any sticks or foreign debris in these 3...

I am not sure why some people say this isn't good sand for a child's sandbox because when I bought 1 bag( 50 pounds) and brought it home, put it in sandbox it was the PERFECT CHILD-FRIENDLY SAND. I HIGHLY recommend this sand to anyone with kids. I do wish however the people working at home depot would be kinder to their customers instead of just talking to teach other and ignoring the customers. what should have been a 10 minute trip lasted 30 minutes

I actually used the play sand for my "buried treasure" theme for Trunk-or-Treating. It was very easy to work with, and clean-up was a breeze. The kids loved it, too!

This is by far the best play sand I've seen in stores. I looked at places like toysrus, homedepot, lowes and other home improvement stores and found this to be the most bang for your buck. I bought 20 bags of sand for a 5x5x12 sand pit which filled up about 1/2. I thought that 20 bags (1/2 ton) of sand should be enough but to my surprise, it only filled up to about half and seems like I could use another 10 bags (at the least). So if you are building a sand pit keep that in mind. I bought it at original price of three dollars and seventy eight cents a bag but then within few days it went on sale @ homedepot for two fifty but home depot gladly refunded the difference (very nice! that's what I call worry free shopping!). Lowes still had it at the original price but I'm sure they would have matched HD's sale price though. Pro: Good quality sand Relatively good price (compared to other stores - toysrus was selling similar bag (diff brand) for $6 a bag) No debris or other foreign materials (its clean!!!) Cons: Some bags were torn. Dusty a little bit Transporting is a real pain in the neck if you don't have a pickup truck.

We are an aircraft maintenance facility and had to perform a specific wing inspection on a particular aircraft. The inspection required us to load each wing with 1000 pounds of sand. We went on-line and found that Home Depot had the product we needed in the packaging that would work best for us. Your product worked perfectly for our application. We were able to perform the inspection and return the aircraft to service.

I bought this to put in a 60 pound sandbag I use for training. It was clean (if you can call sand CLEAN) & had no sticks or stones in the bag I got.

I purchased six 50lb bags of Quikrete "Premium Play Sand" from Home Depot and when I cut the first bag open I was surprised to see small black pieces of leaves and sticks in the sand. The bag reads "Prefect for use in playboxes ... Screened, washed and dried". Well I opened a second bag only to find the same problem, the rest is going back and my granddaughter is upset. I would NOT recommend this product. The attached picture shows the things I screened out of the sand.
