I trust the products made by Ridgid and the company backs its products with a great warranty. I have a Ridgid Wet/Dry Shop Vac; it is durable and higher end quality machine. The Ridgid sump pump is heavy, about 18 lbs built with stainless steel and cast iron, and this construction will give longevity to the product: the cast iron and steel casing help in cooling the unit when it runs with big rainstorms. The heat from the motor gets dissipated through the metal casing, and this reduces the chance of burning out the pump. The weight prevents the pump from moving or tilting. By far, the best switch mechanism is the vertical float, and the Ridgid pump makes it more reliable with the float guard protection. If the pump ever moves and it comes in contact with the pit/basin, the protected switch will still function. Other types of units that have the free-floating ball switch might get stuck or tangled with other things in the basin. The installation of the Rigid pump was effortless. I had it installed in a few minutes since the fitting was a perfect match. I tested it by filling the pit with a water hose, and it worked without any issue. This machine is a lot quieter than the other pump. I am satisfied with this product; easy installation, heavy-duty built, quieter, and works flawlessly.

I am very happy and satisfied with the NEW RIDGID 300RS 1/3 HP Professional Grade Cast Iron Sump Pump. Relatively easy to install, (just make sure you have all the necessary fittings before you start). The pump has a energy efficient motor, and engineered design that provides a ultra-quiet action that I was in awe of. It offers a flow rate is 48 Gallons Per minute at 10 ft. of discharge lift. A very rugged design that will stand any bumps and is water tight all over. Did I mention how quiet this thing was?

Ridgid Dual Suction Sump Pump model 330RSDS, 1/3 HP, with cast iron and stainless steel construction for durability and extended life. Designed to remove ground water from sump pits. For use with clear water only. Not designed to be used with portable generators. The bottom suction, below the impeller, will pass up to 1/2” solids. The cast iron base is designed with multiple small standoffs to impede the passage of larger items and reduces the potential for clogging. The dual suction design, with suction also above the impeller, eliminates the risk of airlock. The dependable vertical float allows for installation into a minimum 11” diameter basin with minimum 22” height. Standard 1.5” National Pipe Thread discharge outlet. There is a heavy steel guard that protects the float from making contact that would inhibit its movement and switch operation. Measuring from the base of the pump/basin, the pump will turn on when the water reaches a depth of 15”, and turn off at 7”. Maximum discharge flows at given heights are: 0’ = 72GPM, 5’ = 61GPM, 10’ = 48GPM, 15’ = 40GPM, 20’ = 18GPM. I obtained this pump as a backup/replacement for the existing pump that is approximately 6 years old. To confirm the new pump’s healthy operation I placed it into a 5 gallon bucket, filled the bucket with water, stepped back so as not to get wet, and plugged it in. After testing, I removed the pump from the bucket, let it drain, wiped it dry, and put it back in the box to store until needed. It is nice to have an extra pump on standby rather then having to rush out for a replacement, or worse, having a failure in the middle of the night or on a Holiday when the local Home Depot is not open. There is also the chance that during heavy weather, with lots of folks having sump pump failures and heading to Home Depot for a replacement, that stock can be limited. It is a good idea to have a back-up pump available to avoid these situations. Don’t forget to also buy a 1 1/2” check valve that is required for installation. The pumps heavier cast iron construction combined with stainless steel and some non-essential plastic components provides a well made pump that resists torque movement at start up. It also means the pump is very quiet. For my application it will have a relatively easy task as the lift is only about 1.5 feet with gravity feed to the drain. Maximum typical cycling time after a heavy rain is about every 15 minutes for about 5 seconds, as the pit is small and drainage away from the home is good. Five year limited warranty from date of purchase; you must keep the receipt. This means that the warranty is counting down while the pump sits in the box waiting to be installed. Not the best situation but unavoidable if one wants to keep a spare pump on hand, readily available. Assembled in the USA with foreign and domestic components.

Before I leave a positive review, this pump does need some planning before it will generate the performance stated. What is nice about this pump, is that the instructions are good, for the everyday type of guy. The quality of production and assembly is good, stellar quality control. I review the pump, for cosmetic, lose fitting bolts, and I could not find any. The motor is surprisingly quite, and strong, blows good air when dry. Packed exceedingly well also.

bad float switch, second one that I have purchased in 3yesrs

The sump pump arrived on time and is working like a champ.

I bought this and returned it the same day. When I unboxed pump, I notice the cord is only like 7 feet, way to short. Really didn't want to run extension cord to make this work so I returned it and got pump with 20 foot cord.

The 1/3 hp pump I had burned out during an excessive rain event. Ended up with 4” of water in basement. Decided to get this heavy duty 1 hp. pump so I would have peace of mind. It pumped out the 4” of water in a few hours. Very quiet too!!

Never got the order but bet it works great…. If i had it….

It gets clogged with leaves easily, there should not be leaves in your sump but there was some in mine. After 3 years the tag is still readable but the handles rust. I recommend periodic cleaning of the screen area

Very high quality pump

We used this for an elevator pit. It works perfect!

Installed this in a new sump pump basin in my crawlspace, that unfortunately was being placed under my main bedroom. This is a workhorse. Pumps around 15-20 minutes with all the water that enters my crawlspace. Fortunately I don’t hear a thing! Its so quiet that the only way I know its running is when I physically see it. I highly recommend this pump!

Powerful and silent. Time will tell with reliability but the 5 year warranty is reassuring.
