Preliminary unboxing, assembly & saw mounting.
I have 2 miter saws and don't like switching saws on one stand so a few weeks ago I bought the Ridgid Professional Compact Miter Saw Stand (AC9960) and mounted the smaller DeWalt single-bevel, non-sliding miter saw on it. I was really impressed and wrote a 5-star review. I then bought a different brand (MstrFrce) - but very similar - stand for my very large and heavy DeWalt dbl-bevel, sliding saw. The saw was just too big and awkward on that stand. It would not stand up in the vertical position with the saw attached (which the manual says not to anyway). I returned it. Home Depot had this Ridgid Universal Mobile Miter Saw Stand (AC9946) which is almost identical to the Ridgid Mobile Miter Saw Stand (AC9945) except for a different shaped handle and the size of the wheels. I bought the AC9946 with the much bigger 12" wheels and I'm glad that I did because it rolls across the lawn with ease. Here is my initial feelings about the stand : 1.) Please open the box and remove all parts OUTDOORS if you want to have peace with the wife. The tiny, clingy, styro beads float everywhere!! 2.) The stand is packed in form-fitted styrofoam and survived the delivery quite well. 3.) The directions/Manual are good but not great because you have to constantly switch from the printed instructions to the diagrams and there are about 20 pages in-between. It really didn't take me long to assemble, however... 1 hour or probably less and zero goofs. Be especially careful to measure the bolt lengths against the instructions and look at the diagrams to see if you should be using a Phillips head bolt or hex head. What is nice is both of the Ridgid stands that I bought have the bolt, flat washer, lock washer, nut combos preassembled so it makes that a little easier. 4.) Mounting the huge and very heavy DeWalt to the saw-to-stand adaptor arms was quite easy and the saw is rock solid. I like that by releasing some pressure of the adaptors I can easily slide the saw left or right for a little extra material length capacity. 5.) Even after watching 2 videos of guys collapsing the stand and storing it in the vertical position WITH THE SAW ATTACHED I still had my doubts about this heavy DeWalt but I operated it just as easily as the 2 gents in the videos. I was stunned that without any hydraulics I was able to safely collapse the stand, wheel it from the house to the garage and store it in a space-saving vertical position. 6.) I set it up in the ready-to-use position and back to storage position several times and it was great! The stand is extremely sturdy feeling with nearly zero wobble. Every part is built to last for a couple of generations at least. I love the easy with which the extension arms extend and they also feel solid.

I have had a lot of jobs us stands in my career both stationary and mobileI. This is by far the best of them all. Easiest to use, quickest to set up, versatile and most stable. Its pretty heavy but its built like a tank and has a lifetime warranty. Love the large wheels that roll over debris, up stairs and through ruts at muddy job sites. I have spent 3x the money and this blows them away. My Milwaukee 18 volt required me bolting to a piece of 3/4 ply to saw as it has hex head holes on base and stand has bolts from bottom , not a big deal, made a nice shelf for pencil or tape.

Great saw. Alot of options and the truly the industry leader for 70 degree cuts. The stand i got for it is beefed up to handle the abuse. Highly recommend but you better do some arms -pulls to load it.

      Long time needed helping hand.
So I’ve needed a miter saw stand for longer than I would like to admit but I decided to take the plunge. I can’t believe I waited so long, it’s a little bulky but rolls up stairs and I had no problem getting it in my inclosed trailer with the large wheels. It went together quick after I figured out the directions, as they could of been better. I’ve looked at many brands and styles of miter saw stands and this ridgid mobile stand is the best at all price points in my option. Don’t hesitant and buy this stand it’s worth every penny.

Purchased this for the 12" Rigid Sliding saw I bought at same time. Assembly was pretty straight forward. MSUV handles saw just fine. Large wheels make for moving it and saw around easy. Negative I have with it, had some minor plastic parts fall out, pretty sure wasn't assembled all that well at factory or came loose during shipping. One problem that couldn't be remedied easy was one latch kept falling off. Caused by stripped stud on chassis that wouldn't catch threads on plastic nut.

        awesome
Hands down, one of the most durable and ridgid miter saw stand on the market. Its a no brainer when the price drops to $129 but an unbelieveable deal at $99. Assembly is fairly easy and straight foward. I mounted my dewalt dws779 and it fits great. Big plus is being able to leave your saw attaches when you fold the stand up. No more lugging around the saw!

          Solid and worth every penny
This is my first purchased MS stand so I won't (can't) compare it to any other on the market. But I will tell you what I know. This stand is solid. It is manufactured very well and can easily hold, I am certain, most miter saws on the market. The wheels are nice and big for easy maneuverability. The locking mechanism makes folding and unfolding the legs a breeze. It is heavy but that is why I like it. If you take off the saw, a piece of plywood between the main bars can serve as a workbench. I am using a Hercules 12" compound MS which mates perfectly on it. The brackets hold the saw in place in the upright position (and the Hercules saw it very heavy). The upright material bars are well made and easy to adjust. This is well worth the price and I am very happy with the purchase and the quick free shipping. The only negative is the instruction manual. Who do they hire to write these things? I had to refer to a helpful Youtube video produced by Ridgid to assemble it. Buy it. You won't regret it.

directions stink??? but the video was straight forward
After reading the reviews I decided to take the plunge! I noticed on this page there was a video with the pictures... low and behold it was an assembly video...I put it together in about 15 minutes! as far as bolts being to long or short...this was a simple fix with my angle grinder...I recommend the stand seems sturdy and comes with a lifetime warranty SO LONG AS YOU REGISTER IT WITH RIGID!!!! Also as far as it being balanced....no issues here just make sure you get your saw on the locks and sitting balanced... Good luck all and don't go chopping off them fingers!

Got it on sale for 229 and threw a 10% off coupon on top of that, can't beat that deal with a stick. Assembly was straight forward once you ditch the instructions and use common sense. This stands is built like a tank sturdy, with that comes a hefty weight, if you're going to be taking it in and out of your truck and lugging it around jobsites you'll get a workout. I'm using it in the shop, keeping it mobile and folded up out of the way when not in use. Throw a piece of wood between the top rails and it double as a work station when the saw is off of it.

Love this setup, interesting stk showed none when I was looking online so I ordered a regular stand. Went into the store and saw 6 on the shelf! Sturdy, well made, and mobile. Does not budge when sawing. At $129 it is a steal!

I bought 2. 1 for a miter saw stand and the 2nd for my planer. Both work wonderful and have had no problems with the product or lifetime register. Ridgid posted like 3 weeks after I filled out that it was approved and I was good to go. Roll easy and were easy to assemble. Bought when they were on the Christmas sale for $129 each and am very happy with them so far!

              BEHEMOTH
I have been looking for a stand for my miter saw stand but all the low cost stands had poor weldments, no wheels and were poorly constructed. I bought this one on sale at Home Depot. When I opened the box all I could say about the RIDGID STAND was it was what a BEHEMOTH. It had big wheels. thick tubular steel and heavy. It took me a while to figure out how to put it together. After putting all the pieces together and mounting my miter saw I wondered how am I going to move this big piece of equipment, set it up for use and take it down for storage. Two hands on the cross bar a touch of a foot on the release lever allows for easy to set up and storage. The big wheels make it easy to move around and it is so well balance set up and take down is very very easy. I'm impressed. Well designed piece of equipment. Wish I had purchase it years ago.

Overall, the stand works great. The instructions for assembly, however, were not the best. The parts and hardware are not labeled, so it was a little bit of a guessing game. On one side, the axel threads also arrived stripped. I had to rethread it to get the nut on. But, once it was all assembled, I was happy to have it. It is very easy to open, close, and move around. I would recommend this to others.

Definitely glad I bought this stand. It makes using my Compound Miter Saw so much easier. It’s easy to put up and down, and being able to store my Saw on it vertically is such a space saver.

                Rock Solid!!
Love this stand, I put my heavy yellow 12" slide saw on it and it folded open and close with no effort. Yes, it is heavy, I expected that as it is built well, no flimsy thin gauged tubing here! Large diameter wheels make it easy to roll on and off the trailer and up and downstairs. The quality, easy operation, and price makes this a win-win! I am extremely happy with it and can honestly recommend it.

This stand exceeded my expectations! I am a residential handiman and have used compound saws mounted on other stands. This stand is far superior. I was also surprised how easily and securely my 15 year old commercial grade Delta compound miter saw mounted to this universal mount stand. The stand is very stable. The large wheels and width between wheels make transporting the saw and stand a breeze. The collapsing feature is effortless and quick. If you need a stand this is the one to get. I would have appreciated assembly instructions, even though assembly was pretty intuitive.

                    Great Stand!
Set up was not bad and stand works great! Was able to mount my 12" Ryobi Sliding Miter Saw and I like how easy it is to unfold/fold from/to storage with Miter Saw on. I had been eyeing this product for a while and once I saw it go on sale for $99 I could not pass it up.

Good product - but need to inspect thoroughly
The RIDGID MSUV is a well-designed, sturdy and practical miter saw stand, which offers a fantastic value at the current price ($129). It was relatively easy to put together despite somewhat curt directions, which required flipping back and forth with the pictures in the back of the manual. It operates easily – move, open and close – and had no issues fitting a Dewalt 12 inch miter saw. However, it was clear this was a returned item, as the components were not in the right location and the packaging material was broken. Upon inspection of the pieces, noticed the frame was deformed/damaged (see picture). Swapped at local HD with no issues for a new unit (sealed) and am now quite happy.

                          this stand is luxury
I had previously bought a HF Hercules stand, but this stand is far superior in every way. my former boss had the delta and this one is way better built and stronger. heavier than the compact versions, but worth it by far. The locking mechanism on the mounts are very sturdy and do not come loose like some other brands. The folding is tricky at first but way easier than the 4 leg design. I can fold and roll away in an 1/8 of the time vs the 4 leg. Solid and oversized wheels make it easy to maneuver, even over stairs and stacks of lumber in a garage. the only improvement I would make is to put a 3 way plug for charging batteries or other things like that. the arms do not have as much flex as other stands that I've used and the board stops are solid as well. Although it doesn't have any leveling adjustment, I dont have any issues with it. LSA is a plus. the tubes are very sturdy compared to the delta and others. It's a homerun at its normal price, but for 129, it was a deal and then some. Makes working by yourself so much better than trying to work without a proper stand. Saves time, and time is money.

                              Upgraded from DeWalt
When my DeWalt stand wouldn't collapse I had some debate with a friend about the "primary function" of the stand. My position is that it was portability, theirs was that it hold the saw. Your answer will determine your relative value of my review but in either case this stand is head and shoulders superior to the DeWalt, just look at my pictures. I considered going to the cheap place but found out their stand was made of aluminum that didn't stand up. This stand has 1) large wheels with wide base = stability and mobility 2) a simple gravity assisted mechanism that works every time 3) large, convenient, ergonomic handles 4) quick release stands...all attributes that make it far superior to the DeWalt which proudly features 1) tiny wheels on a narrow wheel base which coupled with 2) a complex, unreliable folding mechanism leave navigating an uncollapsed stand across whatever terrain you deal with on a wobbly base. 3) the knobs are not convenient, not ergonomic 4) your saw is attached, not welded but suffice it to say, you aren't taking it on and off on a whim. I put my DeWalt stand on the curb for free with a note saying "buyer beware, you get what you pay for"
