Handle broke off in 2 years
No issues with the blower itself. Has decent power for what I need and lasts long enough to blow the driveway and walkways and pool. However after like 2 years or less the handle just broke off. Never dropped or anything seems just from holding it and it’s own weight. What a piece of junk!

buy the more expensive one trust me
we bought this and found it had no power at all. our 25 year old corded troy built one I got at a garage sale was 3x more powerful even though this is rated higher. I tried a 3rd party speed tip and still no improvement. thank God I used my home Depot card which gave me a 1 year refund available

Horrible design. Getting the battery out is a little difficult. The vent blower on the back constantly will suck in your shorts or pants just all-around not as good as what I purchased in the past.

If you are looking for a blower that will (presumably--I've only had this blower for about 5 uses now) work year after year without having to prep and store it for the winter, then this is your blower. I've had two gas blowers over the last 20 years, both of which required being emptied of gas for the winter and having Sta-Bil run through them. Then every few years rebuilding the carburetors so they would start, idle and rev properly. And even so, one of these blowers was easy to start but couldn't be restarted when warm, and the other couldn't be started when cold, just when warm. Aargh! The Ryobi blower is truly simple--there is just a battery to keep charged with no gas mess, no storage chores, and no carburetor rebuilding. The battery holds a charge for long enough to blow all of the areas on our two acres that I usually clean with the gas blower, and that is using the "turbo" setting for most of it. The blower has enough power to mimic the gas blower's performance (while on turbo mode), and the regular mode is good for our front porch (it won't destroy the potted plants in this mode). It would be nice if the turbo button had a lock on it (you have to keep your thumb on it for the extra power), but other than that there is nothing nicer than pulling the blower off the shelf, slapping on one of the 40V batteries, and going out and cleaning up!

Just purchased the other day tried it out today for the first time battery lasted no more than 10 minutes and died not real happy with it for 159,00 you think the battery would last longer .... I’m just gonna return it and keep my old Electric corded one 20 years never had a problem with it oh well ... I was really hoping I’d like this because I was going to but a battery operated weed Wacker ( not anymore ) lesson learned battery operated lawn tools not my cup of tea I honestly think it was purchased and returned already because the box looked like it was taped over tape

I like the adjustable handle on top. It can be adjusted to various angles. I like that it uses batteries instead of gasoline for power. I weighed it on my scale and the blower with battery weighs in at 10 pounds. The variable speed trigger makes it easy to gently blow off some areas without making a big mess that can be caused by using full power. The blower tube is very snug and stays on, unlike the blower tube on my old blower, which sometimes falls off when I am using it. This is a time saving blower. It is many times faster that sweeping with a broom.

After using the blower a few times I noticed it seems to be a bit heavy. Even though the handle is designed to alleviate some of the weight it still seemed to be quite heavy. As well as, if the tube was more narrow at the end the air flow would be more powerful or have more velocity. Overall, it does do the job you need it to do, if you're not using it for a lot of leaves.

The short of it - IT BLOWS, BLOWS and BLOWS. Rated @110 MPH and 525 CFM MAX Power with a variable-Speed Jet Fan. So as far as Gas-like power, I rate it -Oh Yes- I have two corded blowers, one of them a, Ryobi Jet-Fan and this puts it to shame as well as the other. Now for battery life, I have three roofs, 28x66, 14x56 and four stall garage (deep, extra wide) and with fir trees all around we have year round cleaning, roof and gutters. On max power we did the 28x66 and that was it in 20 mins - Note here is they show using max in shorter busts, so we pushed it to the limits. Second battery lasted longer, but we did a lot of busts on the garage. Finally, we did the 14x56 and the deck below along with the driveway (38x80) - in all used three 4ah batteries in just over an hour, finished twice as fast (big time saver) and clean-up was just put the blower away and charge the batteries. And yes I have lots of Ryobi Tools, and not a one has ever failed me or was disappointment me in performance. Most I seen id they only get better. "The RYOBI 40-Volt Lithium-Ion Jet Fan Blower is backed by a 5-year tool warranty".

We already have a gas-powered blower but got this one for my wife, who loves it. It is so easy to pull out for a quick job like blowing off the porch or deck before company arrives. It can of course do more and bigger jobs and even has the turbo mode to get debris that doesn’t want to move. Charging the battery is only a matter of putting the battery on the charger and plugging it in. It has an easy to read light display to see the charge status. The battery is a bit heavy, but not too heavy for an adult to use the blower. The handle position is adjustable and just needs to be pushed up to easily insert the battery.

It was quite difficult to get the blower tube on because it is so tight. I had to have someone hold the blower as I forced the tube on. As I probably won’t take it off again it is not a big deal. I tested the power of this blower against a corded blower by blowing the blower box across the floor. I was surprised to see that it is just as powerful as the corded blower. I think the blower is nicely designed and I like the color. It is well balanced and doesn’t tend to point down as much as my other one. You can adjust the handle to having it pointing down more. Having the battery in the middle makes the total length of the blower shorter. Because the intake is right at the back you have to be careful that your clothing doesn’t block the flow. It has a turbo boost button that initially I wished I could just lock it on, but it is probably better having it as an occasional option, so the battery lasts longer. Also you can control the speed of the blower by varying the pull on the switch trigger. It is definitely quieter than my older one, especially if it isn’t in turbo boost mode. That is another reason that it is better not to use turbo boost mode all the time. Overall I think it is a very nice blower.

The Ryobi line of 40 volt tools offers good, powerful tools at an affordable price. This Jet fan blower fits the bill, as it has plenty of power, a long run time, and the cost with included battery and charger is very reasonable. The 40-volt lithium battery provides “gas like” performance, generating a large 525 CFM air volume and 110 MPH high velocity air speed. Blower speed is controlled by a variable speed trigger in the handle, and a “turbo” button on the front edge of the handle provides a high air boost. Using the turbo button will allow you to move just about anything, wet leaves, stones, small branches, dirt. It has plenty of power. The 4 Amp hr. battery provides a long run time, and it is interchangeable with other Ryobi 40 volt tools. The charger is compact, about a quarter of the size of previous 40 volt chargers I have, and recharges the battery in about an hour. The handle is adjustable to provide different blower angles, and the blower tube is relatively compact for easier storage. The sound level is moderate for such a powerful blower, and much quieter than a gas powered unit. All Ryobi 40 volt tools are backed by a five-year warranty. I had a 4 ¾ year old hedge trimmer burn a motor out, and Ryobi replaced the motor free with proof of purchase, quickly and hassle free – standing by their product. Go gas less – you won’t be sorry!

The Ryobi cordless 40V Lithium-Ion powered leaf blower is a great addition to anyone's outdoor power equipment collection. Everything is neatly packaged in the box. Once everything is removed from the box, the wingnut must be loosened to raise the grip into operating position. Next, attach the tube by lining up the guides and channel. Press onto blower housing, then twist tube until it clicks and locks. Charge battery, and it's ready to blow. With a 525 CFM blower that produces 110 MPH wind velocity, it will make any clean-up easier to get done.

Excellent power. I had a little trouble at first with it shutting itself off because I incorrectly positioned the adjustable handle to lean all the way down onto the battery. It would run for a few seconds and then shut off, so do not position the handle completely downward. With the handle off the battery, it runs fine with a steady blast of air for as long as your finger is on the trigger. There is no double button start like my last blower. The turbo function gives it an even harder blast that will be great for damp leaves. I have a rather long tree line in my back yard that I like to push the leaves into in the fall. This has more power than my last blower, which couldn't handle the job, so it is going to save me a TON of raking. And bonus: although I doubt I'll have enough leaves to wear out this battery in one use, my Ryobi mower and snowblower use the same battery so I am set with plenty of time. Ryobi continues to make great products.

The Ryobi 110 mph 525 CFM cordless leaf blower works great. The 40-volt battery and charger are included. My husband takes blowing leaves and debris very seriously. During the summer, he uses a blower almost daily. This one performs a long time on a charge and it has plenty of power. He is able to get all of the debris handled in the front, back and on the driveway without stopping to charge the battery. The design of the blower is compact and that makes it convenient for storage between uses. His old blower is virtually worn out and is held together with duct tape. With the arrival of this better, more effective blower, he was able to retire the old one. This blower also has variable speeds so he can easily achieve more blowing strength to remove larger chunks of debris. This blower seems just as powerful as a gas-powered product with the benefit of being cordless and convenient. Just grab it and go.

Awesome. This 40 volt lithium ion battery blower is fantastic! My kids can all run it, and it’s fantastic to have a bunch of people who are enthusiastic about blowing things clean. The trigger is variable speed, and then the turbo button on top gives a big boost for tough stuff. Nice. The battery was still ¾ full after 10 minutes running, part of the time on turbo. It’s hard to imagine a battery-powered blower will actually last 40 minutes per charge, but that is our experience. I’m blown away! (see what I did there? Eh?) We’re delighted with this blower. It definitely has the same or more power than the corded unit it replaces, and is quieter. It’s not quiet, it’s still a blower, but I don’t hear the blades thrashing air inside, but instead I hear a smooth-running turbine and the resulting air blowing through. It isn’t light because of the battery. I may make a 2.0 ah battery handy so my kids will be more apt to run it without being asked, but that’s the cool thing about Ryobi’s 40 volt line—the batteries all interchange. The video review starts at about 5:45. Before that you can see what this will do with Legos in the house…which may become our normal clean up procedure at this point. Check it out:

This nice Ryobi 40-volt lithium battery powered jet fan blower puts out 525 CFM at 110 MPH with the turbo button depressed. That is about equal to a gas-powered blower and a lot of action for so much convenience. The machine is well balanced and easy to use. The battery last over 35 minutes with occasional use of the turbo boost and about 20 minutes with near continuous turbo boost and has a good usage indicator. The battery recharges in about 2 hours from empty in a very compact charger. For many homeowners this is all the blower they will need. I have a large yard bordered by woods and will still need the gas-powered backpack blower in the fall. However, this machine will really simplify blowing the spring leaf development debris as well as fall leaves from the patio, pool area and driveway where the backpack is overkill and awkward to use.

Considering that this is a cordless blower, it is extremely powerful. It is as good as my corded blower but without all the limitations of being tethered by a cord and only being able to clear areas near outlets. The variable speed control is operated by the trigger, the further it is pressed the higher is the speed. Holding the blower while advancing the speed you can feel the blower push backwards against your hand. Living in the desert, we have a lot more sand than leaves, but this blower also does a good job of clearing the sand that collects around the house.

This LITHIUM-ION CORDLESS LEAF BLOWER is compact and easy to put together. It ha a button for JET FAN USE. It would be better if it had an extension on the end of the blower to compact the air for better movement of debris. The battery charges quickly for use but it also goes down in charge relatively fast too. I used it for 10 minutes and it dropped one mark in that short time. It has an adjustable handle for easy adjustment of angle.

Ryobi does it again with this updated cordless jet fan blower with a 40V Lithium ion battery kit. The turbo button takes the speed up to 110 mph. Included in this pack is the 4Ah battery and charger. No tools are required to attach the blower tube and the new handle design is super comfortable to hold and grip. The handle is adjustable with a printed manual included to help. The battery pack easily slides into place for use as well into the charger base. Out of the box, the battery was charged to 1 out of 4 on the fuel gauge. The LED fuel gauge allows for power testing, charging, notes when the battery is full with easy to read green lighting. The Ryobi leaf blower comes with a 5 year standard warranty. This is a great product and with our large grass yard, this blower will be used three seasons to clear grass clippings, debris and of course Fall leaves. Strong and powerful while easy to carry and use, this Ryobi is a great find.

I bought a Ryobi backpack style blower (RY38BP with 760 CFM at 175 MPH) about two years ago and it is fantastic. My one-acre yard has over 50 trees, which means lots of leaves and pine needles. The backpack blower is a big loud monster – but it does a great job cleaning up this never-ending chore. This unit is just plain overkill for some other jobs like the sidewalk, steps, deck, and garage. I was interested in this battery powered unit as a quieter, more convenient tool for handling the jobs that really do not require the big backpack unit. This unit moves 525 CFM of air at 110 MPH which delivers very good clearing power. It has a variable speed trigger to control the output of air, and a turbo button for a maximum burst of power. It is also much quieter than my backpack machine. Even with the big 40 volt – 4-amp hour battery, the unit weighs less than 10 pounds. It has a large adjustable ergonomic pistol style handle with a comfortable, grippy, rubberized coating. The speed control trigger and turbo button are in the right places and are easy to use with one hand. The initial charging of the battery took about an hour. I used it for 20 minutes and the built-in battery gauge is still showing a 75% charge remaining. I am very satisfied with the performance and quality of this product.

If the battery was charged or like myself you have another Ryobi 40v or two battery, you can be assembled and working in under 5 minutes from the time you cut the tape to open the box. You simply slide the blower tube on the motor housing, twist to hold in place, adjust the handle to a comfortable position slide the battery in place and you are ready to go. This is a very powerful blower that you can vary the speed/strength with trigger control. The further you squeeze the trigger the more powerful it gets until it bottoms out. And then if that is not enough just hit the TURBO button to max out the blower to its absolute maximum power in what for me would be a rare incident as for most of my summer chores its strong enough without using the TURBO feature. (525cfm, 110 MPH) As fall rolls around and we have wet leaves to deal with I have every confidence the TURBO mode will handle the bulk of that as well. It really does rival the power of some 2cycle blowers I have previously owned. It may be a bit on the heavy side for some users. My wife uses it but has to take a break here and there. This one comes with a sleek compact charger and a 4ah battery. How long that battery lasts is completely dependent on how long on what speed the blower is used with TURBO taking the biggest bite out of the battery. I have a few other tools from Ryobi in the 40v line of tools and that gives me multiple batteries and they all work in all of the Ryobi 40v tools, that is another advantage of having all of your battery tools in the same brand and voltage category. I have several tools in the 18v category by Ryobi as well also with the same multiple battery situation. Now the only gasoline lawn tools I have is my riding mower and a small two cycle cultivator. We are very happy with all of our battery powered tools from Ryobi.

I love the cordless yard tools. After years of cutting cords, I'm done. The RYOBI 40-Volt Lithium-Ion Jet Fan Blower takes cordless tools to the next level. The battery last longer then the task at hand. This blower has a jet fan design for increased air flow, delivering an impressive 500 CFM and 110 MPH of clearing power. As much power as my gas unit. It also features a variable speed trigger for customized control and a soft-grip handle for user comfort. The turbo button gives you an extra boost, to clear through heavier leaves and debris. This blower and the included 4 Ah battery are compatible with all RYOBI 40-Volt tools, batteries and chargers. The RYOBI 40-Volt Lithium-Ion Jet Fan Blower is backed by a 5-year limited warranty. Very satisfied.

I am a big Ryobi fan and their battery powered products all perform great. I have had electric leaf blowers before ( not great for moving large volumes of leaves), and gas powered wearable ones ( heavy to use plus you need to store gasoline and pull a starter). Not a problem with this product. Very simple to use right out of the box. Comes with 40v battery and charger. Assembled in a few minutes, no tools necessary. Manufactured in Vietnam. Handle is adjustable, and blower can easily be carried and operated with one hand. Follow safety instructions and always wear safety goggles. I was able to blow leaves out of my gutter very easily standing on a step ladder.

I’m not saying this blower does not have some small draw backs, but over all for me it is a winner. I currently have a Ryobi 18 volt One + leaf blower and just got this one to update my yard equipment some. I have a 40 Volt lawn mower and having all the lawn equipment using the same platform just makes sense to me. My 18 Volt will remain in my wood shop to keep it cleaned out. Some easy comparisons are the 18 volt is lighter using a 4 AH battery. The 40 volt weighs in at 9 pounds with it’s 4 ah battery (included with this blower) and while I think it is fine and even ok with a 6 AH battery (I bought separately). My wife says it would be too heavy for her to do the whole lawn with. Noise, the 40 volt at it’s normal setting is quieter than the 18 volt, but when you turn on the turbo the high pitch noise can hurt your ears, highly suggest ear protection when using it. Blowing capability, even without the turbo the 40 volt wins hands down, in fact you can even feel it pushing your arm back as you are using it. On turbo it moves a lot of air. It is compact, under a yard long and if you need it to be even smaller for storage the nozzle is pretty easy to remove. When I tested it out, I was able to effectively move damp leaves over 10 foot away from me in my flower garden. Worked very well at removing freshly trimmed debris from my hedges. Cleared my sidewalk with easy and very quickly. It has an adjustable handle, but the battery is a little hard to remove. I tried it in my shop and it really just put too much of the dust into the air instead of out the door, so I will stick with the 18 volt there. Over all a very impressive machine.
