Purchased 02/27/2024 After two uses the inside coating on the drum is peeling off in chunks, this the reason for the low rating since the drum will start to rust pretty quickly, I am going to have strip the inside and paint it correctly. The mixer is powerful to handle 3 60lbs bags, it could be built a little bit sturdier, but is okay for what I am using for.

Great Product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So easy and quick to assemble. Very heavy duty. Motor is quiet. Just a couple things re: the directions. Instead of a 17 and 19mm wrench you need 16 & 18. Also have a long large flathead screwdriver handy to get the tines inside securely. Overall great product and excited to use it for our concrete project!

Nice!
This is an excellent mixer for a homeowner and pro. It is well-built, but I made an upgrade through. I went to HF and bought air tires for it. But you'll have to order some Plastic or Cast Bronze Bushing, 1-1/4" ID x 1-3/8" OD x 2-1/4" if you change out the plastic tires to air. It makes a world of difference. I wanted it to roll over the dirt, not drag through it. I learned from my other one and made the exact change last year to my YardMax.

Excellent mixer. Strong enough to mix all day.
Extremely happy with this purchase. Had some fencing to install, and needed to pour some footings to separate some animals that like to dig out.
Works well, and will outlast you during the work day. Love the fact I don't have to wait for a rental.
Highly recommed installing the drum on the motor with some marine grade grease and you shoild never have to touch it again. Also recommend buying a pack of 1"o-rings to install under the paddle mixers to be watertight.
Overall impressed!

Strong enough for 250# at a time
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wanted to put in some fencing, and do it the right way with properly mixed concrete. Also not doing everything at the same time, so just made sense to buy one and be done. Now I can set my posts, pour a border under fences between animals to keep them from digging out, etc. No need to rush or wait for a good weather day and see if a rental will be available.

Works like a champ! Quite, smooth and plenty of power. Swiveling of the drum in either direction makes for more precise dumping of material where you want it to go!

Great Mixer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this last month to pour some footings. Worked great. Easy to move, mixed great and easy to pour out into a wheelbarrow or 5 gallon bucket.

Great Portable Mixer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this last week for a cement pad that I’m pouring. Used it for the first time this last weekend. It was easy to assemble out of the box. Needs two people for assembly. It mixes two 80lb bags of cement without any problems. The functionality of the mixer is good - it swivels, it tips to pour, and is is easily moved around. The only issue I had was the lock/unlock pin on the base when you need to tip to pour kept sticking and it was not easy to lock/unlock. So far I’ve poured a 16’x4’ pad and it did a great job. Hoping to get many more weekend out of it.

# of bags per batch
Works great. It's 3x 30kg bags per batch. You have to be careful not to add water too quickly after the 3rd bag or you might get mild spillage. Just watch the rim and edge up to it. Also make sure to put your mix behind the paddle vs in front or the paddle will carry it up and splash when you turn it on.

Can’t hold 3 bags of 60 lb concrete.
I had been using this for a few jobs and I thought it was great. I read online reviews that said it can hold 3 bags of 80 lb concrete. I was trying to be safe by only using 60 lb concrete. Apparently it can’t handle that. The lower support bent in half and ruined the tool.
On top of that, RYOBI’s customer support has been non existent. All I get is a machine telling me all the people are busy with returns.

Cheaply made and customer survive is a joke
After only using it once and not even meeting the allowable amount of total concrete at one time, the leg buckled, fell over, bent up the tub, and made it completely useless. After contacting customer service they informed me I needed to take it to a service center. They also informed me that I may be required to pay a deposit for said service. This product and company is a joke and shows poor judgement on Home Depot’s part for even carrying their products.

Weak support
The support stand collapsed where it meets the mixer bracket. The stand metal tubing is half the thickness of the receiver tube. I had to install interior tubing and exterior tubing to make it work. Very bad design. It could hurt someone.

Structurally unsound and flawed design
After about 10 bags being run through it, and on the second day of use, the back stand failed and the entire mixer crumbled with a load of wet concrete in it (about 180lbs). Once this was on the ground I had no way to stand this back up as there was no longer a pivot point, and this was a project I was doing by myself. As such, I was only able to get a little of the concrete out since I couldn't get it up to dump it. Now the concrete is dry in the mixer and I'm stuck with a $400 door stop.

Broke
The mixer leg broke and could have caused serious injury to my knee or ankle if I were unlucky. Another reviewer with a snapped leg got a response from Ryobi that his was defective. That's not the case, too many snapped legs reviews. The Ryobi rep did not respond truthfully. It is a product engineering problem. they didn't plan properly to where all that torque energy goes. I never put in more than 2 60 lb bags and was careful because of the reviews

Made a daunting project doable.
The Ryobi concrete mixer made a seemingly impossible diy job doable. The mixer worked perfectly. The assembly the night before my project was easy, just a few bolts tightened etc. The machine itself is a bit heavy for one person to move around without the wheels but the wheels were fine fore this project that was flat and linear. I made a 12 x 8 footing to hold a screen patio frame. The mixer mixed faster than i could finish the previous poor - it went as fast as I could. I used two 60 lb. bags at a time and had to use 3 bags twice when I lost track of water amounts. The mixing drum has prongs/mixers which I used to slice the bags open and pull the paper out. The drum unlocks to allow pouring and saves all that back stress. I made a ramp to pour into my footing until I got the hang of it. I mixed and poured 58 bags in just under 5 hours. The footing looks tremendous and I couldn't have done it without this mixer. It is a must have tool for me. Two points I learned after the fact - 1. Use long cuff gloves, even to your elbows if possible. I have pretty deep "rug" burns up my forearms. 2. Spend extra time on your footing forms, this mixer goes really fast and I could have gone faster if I was better prepared. I thought the mixer would take 5 minutes for loads but it mixed much quicker.

Works great, but don't put more than 200 pounds in it.
It worked great until the rear support leg buckled. I had a full load but it was not overloaded. I would buy this again if they made a stronger support leg.

Works good!
I buy this little mixer at few years ago, I been using for small jobs, I can say is good and you can make 2 bags 80 pounds at the same time and this mixer will handle like a champ, that’s the good side, bad side is at little heavy ( because is all metal) really good to make mailboxes and small jobs, you can make quick Crete our mortar, this mixer will do both, excellent for mailboxes, our small block jobs!

Still debating even after….
I bought this Thursday for a job on Saturday. Was excite try out this new mixer. Small job. Little 90ft rock wall. Matter of fact I had my old mixer the Kushlan with me as well. Wanted to run two barrels for this particular job. I had high expectations for the Ryobi. First mix, 1 minute into the mix and crash! Leg folds under It. Luckily I had my kushlan!
However I can’t say much about the ryobi cause I didn’t get a chance to use it. When I return it, I’ll get another and see how that one God.

Durable Implement
I bought the Ryobi concrete mixer to do my backyard project. I have no regrets with my purchase. The mixer is a workhorse. In total, I’ve mixed 534 60lb bags of concrete in it with no issues. It will mix three 60lb bags at a time. I highly recommend.

Very disappointed
On the first use with only one 80lb of cement used, the metal frame started bending & broke. The metal itself is made of weak material. Very disappointed. Frame looks like bicycle frame but even bicycle frame seems stronger. I returned!

Received my Ryobi Concrete Mixer. I guess buying in store when possible would be a better option but ordered online to have it delivered my local store since home shipping was not available for some reason. I would recommend you open the box to check the condition of the item before leaving the store. Review keeps being rejected for telling the truth about selling junk items, have to keep rewriting the review to their standards to make themselves look good.

Opened the box to see a lot of rusted components
I was pretty disappointed to open up the box and see nearly every unpainted part had significant rust on them. All the screws and bucket pivot pin were rusted, The mixing bucket, and some other painted parts, had a rust residue, which wiped off easily. The mixing bucket had a noticeable dent in it, which must have happened from the factory, as the box/packaging seemed intact.
Only started the mixer to test operation. It runs. Won't know the true quality until I load it up with ready mix and water. I'll only update if things aren't satisfactory.
The rust is concerning, though. Poor quality with that alone.

RYOBI portable cement mixer
Direct drive from a gear box attached to a well built motor. Drum is one piece made of thick powder coated steel. So far have run over 50 - 30 kg bags of redimix in 2 bag batches with no issues. I highly recommend this mixer! The box and the on the mixer it clearly states 0.5 hp 5.3amp motor. It is not 10 amp. It does slow down if more than 2 bags are mixed. The swivel and tilt mechanism is awesome! Two small issues; the base is unstable so I attached a long 2x6 which improved stability, one of the large washers was too small inside diameter so I had t drill out to use. Other than that it would have been a 5 star. I hope it lasts, awesome mixer!

Great DIY Mixer
First off I probably would not have purchased this if it was not on sale. But wow what a well made mixer. I watched so many reviews before finally using it today to pour a 4x4 pad that was too small for any contractor to do (they won't do small jobs because they are in such demand. Overall, it makes the job mixing and pouring concrete manageable for one person.
Pro: Excellent Price/value RYOBI reputation
ease of assembly
Ease of Use
Ease of clean up
Cons:
Wish it had better wheels but that is just me being nitpicky.

The instructions to put the mixer together are easy to follow and it took less than one hour from unboxing to fully assemble.
I used the concrete mixer to pour a small slab for a storage shed and the mixer worked flawlessly. The mixer mixed 102 bags of 60 lbs concrete for the job. It can handle 3 bags at a time but I only mixed 2 bags for easier handling. It runs very quiet and the motor has plenty of power. I recommend this mixer.
