Nice Features, Good for Access to Tight Spaces
I am a big DIY, and a portable drill is one of my mainstay tools. I’ve been using a Ryobi battery powered drill for years and it has performed faithfully for hundreds of hours of use. I was anxious to try this model, mostly because it has a smaller profile than my standard model (about 2” shorter), making it easier to use in confined spaces. What I like: 1. It has a heavy duty feel and hefty drive force, but it is well balanced with a battery pack. 2. There is a noticeable speed enhancement using torque drive #2. 3. Variable speed trigger. 4. Easy to locate directional switch (forward/reverse) at the trigger location. 5. Easy to read, contrasting color indications of torque setting on collar. 6. Penlight on housing provides illumination during drilling/driving. 7. Accepts Ryobi universal battery pack. 8. Accepts lanyard attachment (not provided) at base of housing. 9. 3-year warranty is a good sign of the manufacturers’ confidence in its product. What needs help: 1. The user guide cautions that sparks will be visible through the vent slots on the housing, and indeed they are quite noticeable, especially in torque drive (#2). The guide states this condition is normal, and in most cases this will be acceptable. But I suggest you beware if you’re working in an environment near gaseous or flammable materials. 2. Unlike my older Ryobi drill, there is no built-in level bubble at the top of the housing. This drill/driver performs well. The chuck holds the bit tight using both torque drives. Having a short length allows me to maneuver in tight spaces. I would recommend this product to others.

Cordless 1/2 inch Drill / Driver
This Ryobi 18V Battery drill has a keyless chuck, and securely holds drill bits up to 1/2 inch. It does not come with a battery (sold seperately) but is compatible with my other Ryobi One+ 18 Volt tool batteries, so I did not need extra batteries for this drill. It has plenty of power to drive even the half inch drill bit through hard wood. It has two speeds, the slower speed is good when used as a driver. The high speed is great for drilling. The adjustable 24 position clutch allows you to get just the right amount of torque for driving screws. There is a white light that comes on when the trigger is pulled that gives you a little bit of light where you are drilling. The light turns off immediately when you release the trigger. The electric motor appears to have brushes, not a brushless motor. The drill is a good length (chuck to back end), not too long, but the drill is fat enough that you cannot drill a parallel hole closer than about 1 inch from a wall or floor. Overall, this is a pretty nice cordless drill. Has the power I need, and works very well.

    Powerful, versatile and cordless!
This is the one drill you need to satisfy all your drilling requirements. It has two different speeds for different drilling needs in addition to multiple torque settings depending on the power required, and easily reverses direction. No chuck key to keep track of- a simple turning of the chuck secures the drill bit easily and tightly. I love that it is cordless- the battery attaches and removes easily.

    Good drill.
I’ve used many different Ryobi tools. And I did notice this one is a brushed tool. I definitely didnt feel the same power as the brushless. It’s a good quality drill I will say that. And I went through 1/8 inch steel no problem. When I was drilling deep into some hardwood though I could definitely feel not much lag but I could definitely feel it was pushing to get through. I like the actual mechanical features of the drill because it has its settings of one and two speed. With the variable speed trigger which I noticed is very good. One thing I thought it was lacking was hammer mode. This model does not have it. It feels like it has the power so I don’t know why that feature was skipped. I also wish it would’ve came with the belt clip and the handle. It is made good and feels good. I didn’t have any crazy issues even with a holesaw. But when I was using the whole size when I wish I had the handle that they usually come with. I will say this is a good quality drill but more on the homeowner side. And it does feel like it should last a long time. It’s not bulky. Decently compact. I ran it with a 3 ah battery and a 4 ah. And got good run time with both. But being a brushed tool I’m not sure what type of constant work It could take throughout the years as a remodeler. It’s a good quality tool but I would definitely say more for a homeowner or weekend warrior.

      Lightweight combo kit
This is a good introductory cordless combo kit. It comes with a lightweight nylon tool carrying bag for the 4 tools battery and charger as well as any accessories. The kit includes a one bulb led flashlight/work light, 5 1/2" circular saw with 18 teeth blade and installation wrench, 1/2 drill driver and a impact driver. Easy to carry and store and I will using to make some repairs to my cedar deck.

Loving all the upgrades on the new Ryobi drill/driver
I already have a Ryobi drill/driver that has to be going on close to 20 to 25 years old that is still going strong. When I saw all the upgrades Ryobi has added to their new drill/driver I had to have one. This new drill/driver has a 1/2” chuck vs my old one being 3/8”. It has a built in light on the base that is extremely bright for how small it is. They added a rubber grippy material on the handle area where my old one is smooth plastic. They added a small gray retangle of plastic to both sides of the drill so when you lay it down it protects the plastic housing on both sides. This same material is kind of grippy so that if you lay it down on a sloped or smooth surface it will stay there. They also added a ratcheting chuck which has to be my favorite part (especially if you are using it to install drywall screws). This drill/drive is also much more powerful then my old drill/driver with 515 in-lbs of torque and the fast drilling of up to 1,750 rpms. These two things are making it much easier to drive screws and drill holes with much more precision. Ryobi has done a fantastic job of upgrading and modernizing the standard drill/driver into a more universal tool that can be used in more applications due to all the adjustments you can make. If you are looking for a new drill/driver and already have the Ryobi batteries this is another fantastic tool you can add to your collection. Ryobi has done a fantastic job with all the engineering that has gone into this drill/driver.

Good combo kit for the DIYer
This Ryobi combo kit is a great set for any homeowner and do it yourselfer. This comes with a 1/2" drill/driver, a 1/4" impact driver, a 5-1/2" circular saw and an LED light that are all powered by the lithium-ion batteries and a 1.5Ah and a 4Ah battery are included in this kit along with the 18V charger to keep your tools powered. Also included is a storage/carry bag to keep all the tools and accessories in for storage or so they are ready to go wherever they are needing to be used. The tools work great just like you would expect from Ryobi and the LED light is quite bright and has an adjustable head to get the light in the right spot. These are covered by the Ryobi 3 year manufacturer's warranty and include operating manuals as well.

Ryobi Cordless 1/2" Drill/Driver (battery & charger sold separately)
This Ryobi drill/driver is lightweight but it is powerful and does the job effortlessly. The box includes the bare tool and instructions, and you provide your own 18V battery and charger. I like that the ONE+ tools all work on the same type battery. If you have other Ryobi tools, there is no need to purchase a complete kit. It has 24 keyless ratcheting clutch positions and 2 speeds. The switch has forward, reverse, and lock positions which are conveniently located so they can be changed quickly. The LED work light comes in handy by providing extra lighting on your project. This drill has a 3-year warranty.

      Well Made
Ryobi tools quality has improved remarkably over the years and this drill/driver is no exception. It is well made, fits and feels good in the hand and is well balanced that reduces fatigue with extended use. It has a two speed motor that provides more torque for driving screws and anchoring bolts/screws on setting #1, and a higher #2 setting for drilling in wood. I would use the #1 setting for drilling in hardwood and metal to avoid burning the drill bit. This tool uses the 18 volt batteries.

      out standing tool
First: everyone should have a Ryobi drill because this drill stands the test of time. It is easy to use, it is powerful but yet with variable speed it makes this a toll for all times. This drill is a must for all home repairs fixer uppers because it is not hard to use and the battery does not drain as fast as in other drills. I received this drill via Fedex on 3/12/2022. Just to inform you all that I have additional Ryobi drills that I use all the time for works or repair around my home and my wife's day care. If you want to purchase a drill go to Home Depot and purchase a Ryobi drill. You will be happy you did.

      Ryobi Drill/Driver (Tool Only)
Ryobi is the signature brand associated with Home Depot. This particular model is the tool only and does not include a battery or charger. This is the perfect second tool if you already own an 18V ONE+. I decided on this tool to have a second drill when working with the tasks of driving and drilling. That is drilling with one and driving screws with the other eliminating having to change drilling bits and torque bits. This is Model # PCL206B with a powerful 515 in-lbs and a drill speed of 0 to 1,750 RPMs. Has an easy-to-use chuck for changing drill bits or torque bits. Has a 24-position chuck for setting the clutch drive for less damage to the screw or the surface you're working on.

      Versatile set of cordless tools
This useful tool set includes a drill/driver, an impact driver, a 5 1/2" circular saw with a blade and a flashlight with a pistol grip. Also included are a carrying case, two batteries and a charger. The tools, while compact have excellent power and the batteries last a reasonable length of time before needing to be recharged. One battery can be charged while the other is in use.

Lots of 18 Volt RYOBI Tools
The first thing that I noticed about this big box of RYOBI 18V battery powered tools is how heavy it was. I weighed it on my scale and it weighed in at 17 pounds. I appreciate that the work light is mounted on the base of the PCL206 Drill Driver and PCL235 Impact Driver. On other tools that I have owned the chuck is in the way of the light reaching the tip of the bit. I appreciate the two different sized batteries. These are the PBP002 1.5Ah and PBP005 4Ah batteries. I use the smaller batteries for light duty work and the bigger batteries for heavy duty work on the Drill Driver and Impact Driver. This combination set comes with a RYOBI branded carry bag. The Allen key for removing and installing the saw blade is stored on the PCL500 saw. The push button switch on the LED light is single action, just on and off, which makes it faster to turn on and off the PCL 660 light. This combination kit has lots of tools, 2 batteries, a battery charger, instructions, and carry case.

The New Ryobi 4 tool kit, will go a long ways to get you started in the battery-operated tool world.
The New Ryobi 4 tool kit, will go a long ways to get you started in the battery-operated tool world. The kit includes a ½ inch drill/driver, ¼ inch impact driver, 5 ½ inch circular saw with blade and a LED light. Also included are 2 batteries 1.5 Ah and 4 Ah, 18V charger, and tool bag. I have acquired many Ryobi tools over years, and they all are still working great. The tools in this 4-tool kit are also of excellent quality and will last many years. The drill/driver produces 515 in-lbs of torque and has large ½ inch keyless chuck. The ¼ inch impact driver delivers 3400 IPM (impacts per minute) and 1800 in-lbs of torque. The 2700 rpm’s of the driver is controlled with a variable speed trigger. The ¼ inch impact/driver is perfect for driving long deck screws or large lag screws. The 5 ¼ inch circular saw can cut 2 x 4 lumber with ease. The description states up to 215 cuts are possible with the 4 Ah battery. The LED light produces 280 lumens of light and has 130-degree pivoting head. The battery of the light serves as a base and can easily sit on a flat surface. The provided bag is functional but is not of high quality. I think the tools could be damaged if roughly handled while zipped up in the bag. For example, don’t toss the tools into a large toolbox just because they’re in a tool bag. I plan on using these tools to replace several sections of my cedar fence that was installed 40 years ago. I think the LED light will be very useful under sink areas or under the car/truck hood. I like the tools and I’m anxious to start my fence project later in the spring.

Just about everything you need to get started!
This is the perfect set for anyone getting into the home DIY game. You will find each of these tools indispensable whether you just bought a home or are setting up a home workshop. Start with the cordless drill, it has 2 speeds and a 24 position clutch which makes it perfect for drilling holes and driving screws into soft wood, plastic, or sheetrock. For heavier jobs like driving long screws into treated deck lumber or driving many screws when making and installing cabinets you need the cordless impact driver. The increased force exerted by the driver means you have less wear and tear on your hands, wrists, and elbows. The 5½ inch cordless circular saw will cut through almost any board with little effort at 4700 RPMs and can make over 200 cuts on a single charge. The last piece in this set is the cordless LED light. It gives off a bright 280 lumens and lasts up to 22 hours on a charge. The flashlight head pivots 130 degrees so you can illuminate any spot you’re working on. These tools use the 18v Ryobi ONE+ battery system and they come with a 4 mAh, a 1.5 mAh battery and a charger. In addition, this set comes in a convenient heavyweight storage bag. I guess about all you need to get to complete your workshop is a hammer!

Nice starter kit for DIY'ers - the PCL 1400K2 Ryobi.
Ryobi sells a number of “kits” and sometimes the reviews get lumped together. This review is for the Model PCL1400K2 four tool kit. Included in the kit is a PCL500 circular saw, a PCL235 impact bit driver, a PCL206 drill/driver, a PCL660 lamp, a 1.5Ah lithium-ion battery, a 4Ah lithium-ion battery, a battery charger, and a storage/carry bag. The tools and batteries are covered by a three-year warranty from Ryobi. The batteries are of the Ryobi +1 battery family and are interchangeable with other tools and batteries in that line. Both batteries come with a “fuel gauge” to show remaining power – a nice feature to have. The storage/carry bag is just that – a simple bag with a zipper, no pockets or separate storage areas. It’s O.K., but the tools do tend to bump into each other when the bag is transported. You’ll want to read the owner’s manuals and use hearing and eye protection. These are not the quietest power tools I’ve ever used. The 5 ½” circular saw does not have an “instant stop” brake – the blade spins to a stop when the trigger is released. At zero degrees bevel it will cut a standard 2x4. The saw comes with one blade (18T carbide). There’s onboard storage for the included hex key needed to remove/replace the blade. There is no laser light or LED light on the saw. There’s an ambidextrous safety slide switch that must be engaged before the trigger switch will power up the saw. In use the saw is very light weight, although with good balance when the 4Ah battery is installed. The impact bit driver is (to me) loud. There is no torque adjustment, but the trigger is variable speed. The driver has an onboard LED light and has good fit and finish. The balance of the tool is fine, and I’ve noticed no “wobble” when driving Philips screws into wood. The ½” drill/bit driver also offers an LED lamp and good handling. The trigger switch is variable speed and there are two speed ranges from which to choose along with a dial for setting desired torque. The speed range switch can be hard to push – if that happens just turn the keyless chuck a little in either direction and the switch will be easier to move. I’ve noticed no wobble when using the driver with drill bits and the bits stayed secure in the chuck until I manually released them. The included LED lamp offers no adjustment to the beam, nor are there power settings. However, the lamp head does pivot, and the light output is quite bright (YMMV). The fit and finish is fine, and the LED lamp is very lightweight, even with the 1.5Ah battery installed. It is not rain or water proof. This is, in my opinion, not a pro-level tool kit; it’s for the DIY/Homeowner who does household repairs and light assembly/building work. The lamp is documented in the user’s manual as “for household use”. However, if you’re not headed to the vacation cottage to put in the new deck and dock this weekend while simultaneously helping to re-roof the neighbor’s cottage, this collection of Ryobi tools may serve you very well. It’s a nice addition to my basement shop for those times when I don’t need to dig out the “heavy artillery” to get a project done. 5 stars because, for me, it’s working as advertised.

An excellent drill/driver and impact driver combo set building a tool collection.
The Ryobi brand of tools offers value and dependability along with a wide selection. This is a popular choice for building a solid tool platform with an 18-volt drill/driver and impact driver. The kit comes with a carrying case, two 18-volt OnePlus 1.5 Amp hour Lithium ion batteries, and a charger. The 18 volt One Plus batteries can power a large selection of over 250 different tools in the Ryobi line. 18-volt power offers light weight yet plenty of operating torque for most tools. Having two batteries provides you constant availability with this set. Both tools feature a LED light built into base to illuminate work area. The impact drivers make fast and easier work for driving longer screws into any material, highly reducing strip out. The half inch drill/driver has a variable speed trigger, hi/low speed selector, forward/reverse control, adjustable torque, and a keyless chuck. These tools feel good in your hand, are compact and relatively light weight, and have plenty of power. They are also dependable, I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve dropped a drill I’ve had for five years, and its still in one piece and working fine. Both tools are backed by a three year warranty.

        Solid diver and drill set
This is a nice, compact drill and driver set. It comes with a charger and 2 batteries. I have not owned a ryobi tool before, and I like the features on the batteries. There is an indicator on the battery that tells you how fully charged it is and there is also an indicator on the charger to let you know the charging progress. One star off for being made in China and Vietnam.

Great kit for two very useful tools
Until getting this kit of a drill and an impact driver, I had never used an impact driver to install screws. I had some 6" long screws to be screwed into wall stud framing. The 1/2 drill I had would do the job but some screws balked at going all the way in easily. The impact driver was the answer to that. The only downside to the use of an impact driver is they are noisier than a drill. The impact mechanism is loud enough that one should probably hearing protection. The upside is the impact driver is also a little lighter than the drill. Both the impact driver and the drill in this kit had an led light that is directed at the approximate point of the drill bit or screwdriver bit. The light can be handy in some places, but I still find my head light is the best overall light for seeing what you are doing in darker places. I did find the light more useful than the magnet that occupies the same spot on my older Ryobi drill. The drill is a little more compact than my older Ryobi drill, and a little lighter. Having two battery packs with this kit is great as that makes it easier to switch between the drill for drilling a hole and then the impact driver for installing the screws. One criticism of mine re the impact driver is that it would be handier to switch bits it the bit holder allowed a bit to be pushed in without having to pull the locking coller with one hand while inserting the bit with the other. Maybe on the next revision? That is not a big deal. I mainly use a magnetic bit holder locked in the tool and use short std 1/4" hex bits in that. Easy to change those bits. The batteries have state of charge indicator led's which is nice. They come on and blink when in the charger. That gives you a idea of how much longer it will take to get to full once you get used to the system.

        Great
I have an old blue Ryobi drill that I'm afraid will give out at any minute. Both the drill and the impact driver that I have are well used. On top of that I got 2 new batteries that show amount of battery life left and a charger. And it all comes in a carry case that I will probably use for the 2 of them. (I usually use both together on a project ie. installing a brand new dead bolt. It's like having Christmas in November.

Truly a great bargain for quality tools
The RYOBI ONE+ 18 Volt Cordless Combo Kit (2-Tool) with (2) 1.5 Ah Batteries and Charger is truly a great bargain for quality tools. I was in the need for a cordless drill and battery when I came across the RYOBI combo kit, and for the price, I couldn’t pass it up. The combo kit comes with a 1/2-inch drill/driver, a 1/4-inch impact driver, two lithium 18-volt batteries, a charger, and a carrying bag. As with all RYOBI tools, the quality is top notch and they come with a three-year limited warranty. If you’re in the market for a combo drill set, this one is tough to pass up.

        Whoopie!!!!!!!!
I’ve had and used a major name brand, cordless drill/driver for years. But alas, the last rechargeable battery I have for it is giving up the ghost; the manufacturer no longer sells the proprietary batteries for it; and the knock off unbranded batteries I’ve found online tend to be hit and miss. Some are just useless junk. It was time to let it go after more than twenty years. Getting this RYOBI ONE+ 18V Cordless Combo Kit was an easy choice. I already have a collection of Ryobi One+ yard tools and, sav for one, they’ve been reliable and useful. Having another One+ 18V tools in the arsenal was a no brainer. The Ryobi line is extensive and affordable. At today’s price, it’s a steal! I wasn’t sure what I was going to do exactly with the ¼” impact driver. Until I tried using it to drive some deck screws in some hard, well-aged deck boards & joists. Whereas the screw heads tended to strip with a straight drill, with the driver added just the right amount of hammer action to convince them to seat in. It’s so nice to have the right tool to make a job easier. Both the drill and the driver are heavier than my old drill. I’m attributing that to sturdier construction. I mean, they certainly aren't putting lead in the handle for weight. :-) But, only time will tell. As noted above, that old one is still functional after 20 years. But alas, no battery available. The Ryobi drill and driver are both more compact than any of my old drills. Corded and portable. That’s a plus. It’s much easier to fit the Ryobi’s into tight spaces. Which somehow almost always seem to be what I’m working with. :-) The kit includes a nice, soft sided carry case that fits both the drill and driver, the charger and two batteries with ease. I have a few other, life-long power tools that are getting long in the tooth. Both corded and battery powered. With the wide offering, consistent battery structure and great price, I suspect I’ll be replacing a few of those with Ryobi One+ tools soon.

        Great starter drill set.
What an affordable starter drill set. Two 1.5 Ah lithium batteries. The drill has nice power and with 24 position clutch. No more burying that screw head way two deep. The drill has plenty of power for a long day of drilling and fastening. The drill impact driver also has the power to get and project done in short time. With power to spare. Both drill have a useful LED light at the base. Plus with RYOBI 18V battery system. You can add over 225 cordless tools. To your home workshop. The batteries were partially charged out of the box. Less the 30 minutes they were fully charged. The green RYOBI bag is great for storage. Keeps everything in one spot. Plus RYOBI warranties this product for three years. My daughter's getting her first house next year. So she'll find many uses for this affordable combo kit.

Excellent lightweight battery for so many tools! I recently realized that not every job I do needs the bigger 4 Ah battery - and working with a smaller battery like this has great power for most jobs, while making the overall tool, especially a drill, much lighter and easier to fit in tight spaces. This 1.5 Ah battery has the LED charge remaining indicator light that I like so much on bigger batteries, and weighs just 14.6 ounces. I charged it from depleted to full in 30 minutes on a standard Ryobi single charger (see video time lapse). The 2.0 Ah battery needed a fast charger in order to charge in the same time period. This battery displays its charge progress as you’ll see in the video. For run time, I ran a comparison between this 1.5 Ah (PBP002), a 2.0 Ah HP Ryobi battery (PBP003), and an older 2.0 Ah battery (3 years older, P190). For my test, I installed the battery in a Ryobi brushless 7.25” circular saw (P508), and simply timed how long the saw could run, with no load (no wood to cut) - just run flat out. This battery ran for 13 min and 41 sec, whereas the 2.0 Ah HP ran for 19 min, 26 sec, and my 3 year old 2.0Ah ran for 18 32. Batteries are entirely about Amp-hours, Ah, so the 1.5 Ah is 25% less capacity than a 2.0 Ah HP, but ran about 30% less long that the 2.0 Ah HP battery. This 1.5 Ah battery weighs about an ounce less than the 2.0 Ah, so there’s just a small weight advantage. I like this battery- it’s the one I keep in my brushless drill, ready to go for small projects and easy portability.

I recently ordered and received the RYOBI ONE 18-Volt Lithium-Ion 1.5 Ah battery. The RYOBI battery pack is such a great time saver as you can use it for almost all their cordless tools. I have a couple of RYOBI chargers that I always keep “loaded” with a RYOBI battery. The new generation of battery pack has a LED indicator to let you know where you stand regarding the batteries current charge. For the sake of convenience and portability, you simply cannot beat RYOBI. The RYOBI brand is moderately priced and the three-year warranty on their battery packs is an excellent incentive to purchase the brand. In the many years I have owned various cordless RYOBI tools, I have only had one 18-Volt battery pack fail (not bad). I have included a few pictures below to show the size and style of the new generation RYOBI battery pack. I would and I do recommend their product as a frequent user.

I really appreciate the battery level LED meters on these newer Ryobi batteries. I still have one of the old Ryobi P102 batteries which doesn't have the LED battery level meter and I have to use an external Ryobi P150 plug in on top battery meter to measure the battery level. The older Ryobi P102 battery is about the same size as this new battery. The Ryobi P150 battery level meter is no longer available. I like that the LED battery level meter comes on quick!!! On some other brands the LED's come on one at time in sequence. The improvements in these newer Ryobi batteries are certainly appreciated.
