Good except for rubber pump valve
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works good for the price, unfortunately one small bad choice in the design material keeps causing failure after some use with certain chemicals and acidic fluids (i.e. vinegar) . The small piece of rubber is not chemical resistant it's within the pump assembly acting as two valves swells to the point it prevents fluid from pumping out. It's a simple 15 min fix to open it up and trim the rubber a bit and it works fine till it swells up again. I eventually just replaced it with one I printed up with what should be a more chemically resistant material TPE 83A. I uploaded to thingaverse incase anybody is in need.

    Cheap quality
This is the second sprayer I’ve purchased and just like the first one the clips that hold the sprayer onto the reservoir broke. The plastic clip which is part of the sprayer get brittle and break when you’re attaching the reservoir to the sprayer. Having it happen the first time I was Uber careful not to put too much tension on the plastic clips but to no avail. Great concept, cheaply built.

      The pump mechanism will corrode
If you transition from a hand pump sprayer to this sprayer, you will probably be delighted at first. If you are handy with tools and don't mind replacing parts periodically, you may be happy longer than I was. After 2 seasons of use at my single family residence... after cleaning the unit thoroughly after each use... after storing in a dry shed during the off season... you can see in the photo the condition of the pump mechanism in my sprayer. Very corroded and no longer working.

4 of these are in the graveyard.
I purchased 4 of these 2 for home and 2 for my beach house. All 4 broke within a year in varying ways. Two of them had the pump stop working, the other 2 are useless because the plastic "ears" that hold the clips broke off and they leak. I had to put bungy cords around one of them as you can see in the picture. I am extremely disappointed with these pieces of junk and a wasted $424.00.

Dead after one year/one time use
I have used it once, and put it in my outdoor shed shelf for one year. It won't turn on again. It turns out the switch and the motor are all rusted and broken. I guess it won't be worth it to get it repaired.

Works! But watch out for getting air in the lines
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Did NOT work out of the box. Had a small problem where air was in the line and the instructions did NOT show how to clear it. Otherwise, they would have gotten 5 stars.

              Disappointing
Just bought this last summer and found a hole in the metal sprayer piece after one use. I was spraying and my leg was drenched from the spray coming from the middle of the “arm”. Taped it up with duct tape but most of the pressure. Because of this issue, I will be purchasing another brand for next season.

Weak spray, leaks, not worth the price.
First one leaked badly, easy return to HD. Second one worked OK for one season, although pressure was minimal. Stored empty in a dry shop when I tried to use it the second year it would not spray. Removed the bottom plate to find the motor housing was evidently not water tight and moisture and spray residue had entered and rusted the motor. Poor design. I have a about three dozen Ryobi 18v tools which I really like. This one was a big disappointment.

Weak point on tank will lead to early breakage
This product has a major design flaw on the tank that holds the liquid. There are plastic tabs on the tank where the metal latch connects the top part of the sprayer to the tank. All of the stress from the weight of the tank and the force applied when latching and unlatching the tank is on these plastic tabs. The plastic is about 1-2mm thick and has no reinforcement. Obviously, this is where the the failure is going to occur. This is a poorly designed product.

Air in Sprayer expanded and Broke!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I filled the container up with wet it and forget it and used it for spraying my roof to get rid of the moss and algae. It's not a pressure washer, so it's not a powerful spray. The spray is comparable to a hand sprayer and saves having to pump it up. Finished with the roof spraying, I climbed down the ladder and set the sprayer on the ground. If I were to stop here, I would give it a 5. The problem: When cleaning up, I went to pick up the sprayer, and the tank fell off. I then notice that the cap was broken into a number of pieces, and one of the plastic clips on the motor part of the sprayer that holds it to the tank broke. It was hot that day, and the sprayer was in the sun. So I think what happened is that the air in the tank expanded, broke the lid, and shattered the cap. They are made of hard plastic, not rubbery plastic. Again, it was hot but certainly not as hot as if I had set it down on the roof or asphalt driveway. I would think there should be a relief valve built into the tank to limit the pressure and release any excess amount of pressure that could build up due to the air in the tank expanding. I could get a new cap and bungee cord the tank to the motor part, but I think I will return it to Home Depot. If I do get another one, I will be sure to unscrew the top to release the pressure before setting it down, and when I store it, I will be sure to leave the cap loose.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a couple of weeks ago and have used it twice. When I went to put 2 litres of liquid in it, I noticed that the scale on the container does not read correctly. If you put in 1 liter, it shows 0.8 on the scale. Two litres of fluid is shown as 1.8 on the scale. Three litres of fluid comes to around 2.7, and 4 litres is just over the 3.5 mark.

The pressure is fine for my gardening needs. If you are looking for something with continuous max pressure this is not the tool. You will need to press the trigger for about 10 seconds and then wait 1-2 seconds and press the trigger again. But is you are using if as a sprayer with a diffused/misting spray, this works great. I use it to mist my mulch with Vinegar to kill random grasses and raise the acidity level to kill mushrooms and other fungus.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used it to spray a sealant over my pavers, but beware do not let it sit without using all of the sealant. You will have to clean it out if you let sealant sit. So be sure to use it all at once.

                              Clogs every other use
The clip that secured the tank broke after a few times. It’s always clogged when we need it to work. Horrible design and not enough power to be worth owning it. With the side clip broken it is now unusable.

                                Plastic literally fell apart
I can’t possible recommend this product. Second time using it, almost a full gallon of weed killer in the tank, and the plastic brackets that hold the tank to the body snapped off and the tank fell to the ground. Lucky nothing from the tank (which is poisonous) shot out on me. Oh, and I have a gallon of weed killer I dont know what to do with. This thing is dangerous depending on what you have in the tank. I generally like Ryobi’s more innovative products but this one is a failure. Will be returning.

                                    I LOVE THIS LITTLE SPRAYER!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This will be my second 1 gallon Ryobi chemical sprayers. After years of fighting with pump up sprayers, I invested in this unit. Even with a gallon of liquid inside, I could handle it easily...and it never clogged or gave me a moment of trouble. That is, until the day I left some chemical inside planning to use it a week later. That was the end of it. But, I decided to replace it...this time investing a couple of bucks in a warranty and promising myself to clean it after every use. Without having to buy another battery and charger, it wasn't very expensive at all, and they have improved the design since my 1st one. We have a whole collection of 18 volt Ryobi tools, fans, blowers, vacuums, saws, caulk gun, drills, you name it. And we just share batteries. This one helps me control weeds beautifully. Love Ryobi!!! P.S. Our friends have a cabinet shop with a Ryobi tool collection they take on every professional installation job. They have never had to replace a single tool.

                                      Stopped spraying after 10 months
I purchased my 1 gallon on 8-7-2019. It stopped spraying this week even through the motor runs, battery fully charged, & switch seems to work fine. So I pulled the tank off & at the end of the siphon tube I pulled off the end & it contains a tiny screen. I try my best to use clean water & chemicals but that little screen had about 25 little back particles in it. The screen is very small see ink pen for comparison. See image. I started diagnostics by checking the end of the spray nozzle, then disconnected the hose from the spray trigger, then removed the hose from the sprayer body. Everything was clear so I then removed the tank ,then the filter screen. Ryobi if you read this I would suggest a removable screen at the pour location. This is the first sprayer I have ever owned that didn't have a pour screen.

Good build quality but poor performance
I bought this because I was tired of buying the essentially disposable hand pump sprayers. Because they are so cheap I rarely treat them right. And I end up replacing at least one a year. I love Ryobi so I thought this was a shoe in. But in just testing it with water it failed. I turned it on and let it build a little pressure and pulled the trigger. At first there was a nice even spray. But after a few seconds it just piddled out like a hand pump sprayer without enough pressure. I made some adjustments but nothing helped. So I boxed it up to get a replacement. Second one did the same thing. So it’s going back too. One fails, I got unlucky and got a bum one. Two fail and I’m either the unluckiest person alive when it comes to sprayers or there’s something wrong with this batch of sprayers. Gonna save up a bit more and buy a real backpack sprayer. Till then, I’ll keep hand pumping. Photos are the same pump taken just seconds apart. To be clear, it I let pressure build up again the spray was again good. But only for a few seconds.

Liked how it worked. BUT only used it for 2 tank fulls, less than 1 hour. The measuring cap literally fell apart in my hand when I took it off to refill the 3rd time. It wasn't dropped or mishandled. Obvious cheap plastic cap. I'll see if they replace it. :(

OK for a first effort. Lots of room for improvement.
I have had this for about a year now. I was excited to have dedicated battery powered sprayer for insecticides only. I do a lot of spraying: house, cabin and farm. I have two back pack sprayers and a pump sprayer on the back of my ATV. The good: umm -- It's got a battery? The spray wand clips nicely in the handle (see #2). The rest: 1. The pump can't be run dry. so you are left with about 5 oz of spray in the tank after every session. Go ahead just dump it on the ground. right! What am I supposed to do with this stuff? 2. The handle is junk. The threads are short and after a while become worn and leak. If you like having pesticides leak on your hand, clothes and shoes -- this is for you. After a month I replaced the hose and handle with a spare I had for my back pack sprayer. Now it actually sprays with some power. The orifice in the valve in the stock handle must be too small. From the start it was a weak spray and limited flow. With the new handle and valve it sprays as it should. So add another ~$10 for this upgrade. 3. The suction hose that goes in the tank has a very small filter that plugs easily due to its size. It also comes off easily so you can spend lots of time looking around in the tank and on the ground for it. The inlet hose doesn't reach all the way to the bottom. see #1 4. The pump lacks a pressure switch. You have to constantly switch it on and off. It could probably be run full time under pressure except the cheap connections leak all over the place. see #2 5. The cap for the tank doesn't self drain back into the tank. I can buy a bottle of laundry detergent with this feature for $8. Many of the pesticides I buy have a lid with this (weedbgon). Surely the engineers at Ryobi have noticed this when doing their own laundry. So while the oz and ml markings on the lid are cute, don't use it as it will just drip the residue down the side of the tank -- more leaking. 6. The hose is made of the cheapest plastic they could source. It kinks, and makes the sprayer fight your other hand.

What a piece of...No, let's be adult about this; this is the most poorly made sprayer I have ever purchased. The brass nozzle does not screw into the plastic housing - stripped immediately, which means you have to hold the nozzle/housing attachment together while spraying. Hopefully, you're not spraying poison, since it drips in your hand. In addition, the cheap plastic measuring cup/screw top cracked within 4 applications, which means an immediate loss of suction. All those positive reviews must be first time users. Steer clear of this terrible money waster. You want a great garden sprayer? Look into the Worx Power Shot. That's an incredible work horse!

I like this sprayer. It's better than hand pumping, and provides a smooth stream of pressure. It would be nice if the power button was a toggle so you could make sure it's off before you put the battery in. I also should have gotten the two gallon tank for my yard.

I bought a sprayer for herbicide, works pretty good so I bought another for insecticide, I planned to buy a third, a backpack sprayer. The second sprayer includes a charger that uses a wall transformer. I absolutely hate wall transformers. There is no way I can plug it in to the powerstrip I use for battery charging so it is going back. I have owned dozens of tool battery chargers over the years and this is the first I have ever seen with a wall transformer. Maybe the first sprayer I bought is going back too since I am not going to have two kinds of sprayers. I also bought a work lite because I have two Ryobi batteries and two chargers. That is going back too.
