Fantastic job of softening my water

Due to the fact that I’ve only had the product for less than a week, I don’t think it would be fair to review this product at this time!

Installed outside in the weather, facing east so half day of Florida sun every day, and in the rain daily every summer. Softener performed great, even though I have extremely rusty water and also sulfur smells from a shallow well, this water softener worked great for over 6 years, but finally failed when a chip on the circuit board blew out due to a lightning strike power surge. Heading to Home Depot today to buy another one. And yes I installed the last one and will self install this one too. I see lots of rants about poor quality, but that hasn’t been my experience.

As advertised and not damaged or a returned item.

Bought the RS32 conditioner about a year and a half ago. Came home yesterday and water coming out of the garage. Upon investigation the water was gushing out of the top of the conditioner around where the valve is seated. I have read other reviews on this conditioner and multiple complaints on this model. These Rheem water conditioners should be recalled and replaced by home depo as are totally defectiver.

They did not deliver the softener with the toilets because they forgot to load it and if i didnt stay on top of it no one would have followed up. Thank goodness i had the delivery driver take a picture to show it wasnt delivered and noted it on the receipt i probaby would still be looking for it

This morning I found that the drain valve was just running water and the salt tank full of water. Went through the toubleshooting in thw owners manual with no luck. Called the Rheem troubleshooting number and got to love. I was told it is a "DIY Unit" and I have to troubleshoot it myself. He said he would be happy to email me a troubleshooting guide and after I diagnosed to problem they would send me the replacement parts. Home Depot was no help and wouldn't take a return or exchange

No printed instructions No way to tell if it is working. No service after the sale.

Unit seems to work as well as previous one. They all break over time. The price was right. What I found less than satisfactory was the THIN plastic cover hinge pieces. One broke just put the cover on. The design is just poor. It doesn't affect the operation but it is something that will remind me of how cheap items are becoming.

No problems installing and does it's job really well.

Installed today. Very easy. My plumber friend who helped had a great suggestion. The video has you turn your water heater and the water to your heater BEFORE sanitizing the unit with bleach. We left the heater off for the first regeneration. Then after the regeneration, ran a cold water faucet for 20 minutes to clear out the bleach. Then turned the hw tank, and water to it, back on. A lot of “yellow gunk” comes out initially…you want to keep the gunk, and the bleach, out of your hw tank.

Worked great until it didn’t. The part I need is no longer available, it lasted 2 years.

This is junk. After 6 months it started acting up. Not recycling at all , then forcing a manual recycling and the brine tank ends up with about 10 inches of water left in it. Three months of communications with Rheem support did nothing but for them to recite the trouble shooting in owners manual to me and refer me to their website tips. I’ve cleaned and checked every inch of this multiple times and even bought replacement parts based on past experience with fixing my mothers softener.

The product broke and gushed water into my garage. This is my second purchase. First one exploded from the tank collar within 5 months. This current one lasted a year. Same issue, same break. Will not be purchasing from the again.

Just plain ugly! Did not even come with an owners manual! Very cheap SMALL LED display that isn't even back lit. You need a flashlight to set it up. EXTREEMLY DISAPPOINTING! I bought it because of the Rheem name, Obviously she aint what she used to be!

My old whole house water softener died and after reviewing all options the Rheem 42,000 was my best option. The insulation was easy and to date I have no issues with the unit.

Two years in and the unit stopped draining properly during an overnight cleaning cycle. Water overflowed for a few hours before i noticed and unplugged it.

I had to replace the venturi valve as excess water in tank. Rheem replaced it but it took 2 weeks for them to ship it. Now tank ruptured at neck. Flooded my garage what a mess This product needs to be recalled

Twice this water softener has failed. THE SAME PART. Flooded garage. Damaged Sheetrock. Doesn’t matter if it falls under warranty. We’d be fools to ask for another replacement part. Fool me once . . .

I was hoping for an upgrade from previous GE softener from HD but it is part for part exact same as GE.

No complaints seems to be working fine, much better than my old one especially with a lot less salt being used.

So far so good. We installed the Rheem unit 4 weeks ago and so far, all of the iron from our water. We went from 6 ppm to “0”. Only time will tell how now.

Electronic board didn’t work

Failed at 15 months. Flooded back porch. Thought the system was running a cleaning cycle but no, it was just spewing water everywhere. Failed resin tank collar like many others here. Don't buy this. Should have gone with something else.
