It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. Ring Spotlights are part of the Smart Lights line of products that strengthens your Ring of Security while illuminating your home and property. The Smart Lights Spotlight is an ultra-bright motion-sensing smart spotlight with a single-beam. It's battery-powered for easy no-wiring installation in hard to reach places such as trees and dark corners and illuminates key areas with ease. We recommend installing the RIng Smart Lighting Spotlight 8-10 feet from the ground for optimal performance.
Ring devices detect motion events in your surroundings, triggering motion alerts and video recordings. You can use Motion Zones to define specific areas that you want your Ring device to monitor while ignoring everything outside that area.
We have included the steps here for how to use Motion Wizard to optimize your Motion Alerts:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap Devices.
Tap the relevant device.
Tap Motion Settings.
Tap the magic wand icon in the top right corner to launch Motion Wizard.
Here you can get help to reduce, increase or improve your Motion Alerts.
