Giving this 5 stars because of the ease in making a warranty claim. Schlage has a lifetime warranty and making a claim is as easy as calling their 888 number and following a link that they text you. You upload a couple of pics from your smartphone and a customer service rep calls you back in less than 10 minutes to get your shipping address, etc. Very polite and professional. Bummed the strike lock got stuck, but they made up for it in standing behind their product.

Deadbolt diameter too small on top hole. Little holes either side. Does it matter? May need to switch deadbolt and knob on this 2016 security screen door. Hd to when installed door. Prefer not to with replacement. Fits fine on the other model screens I have. Otherwise nice deadbolt and knob.

I rent a house. I do a lot of the minor home repairs myself. I bought this set because I have a metal screen door out front and an exterior door inside of that. I didn’t want my front door to have “two knobs” or “two latches” in a row. Installation of this kit was very simple. I watched some YouTube videos and I was set to replace this myself. I highly recommend that you bolster this lock set with higher security Strike Plates that incorporate 3” construction screws. For years my family had been relying on the cheapest locks out there for our home protection needs. I’m glad that I finally looked into lock replacement and did it myself. Schlage is good, it is not the best but it is WAY BETTER than then “renter special” gear I had before. Easy to install, looks good, works good. I stayed away from SMART KEY as Smart Key just appears to me to be less robust.

Is a safe lock set and easy to install also you use only one key for both locks

Fear not, on a skill level of one to 10, 10 being the highest, I am somewhere between a one & two! Total Install about 20 minutes. The most difficult part of the job was removing the old door handle w lock, and the separate dead bolt. That aspect of the "project" aside, I had the new Schlage door handle installed in under five minutes. Open package, seperate dead bolt parts from door knob parts. You will figure out the screws, and have some left over parts- no biggie. Put aside complicated instructions- obviously written by some guy from MIT. Find the two bolts that go through the inside door handle, to the outside. Screw together for a rehearsal. Then place in the lower round opening. Install. Simple. Will need a phillips screwdriver for entire job. Snug each bolt back a bit at a time. Snug- not weld! Bolt lock is adjustable for proper fit in two sizes. Twist bolt lock and see which one fits nicely. You should not have to adjust your hole cut out in door- will ruin door! I used a rubber mallet to gently tap in the outside lock, but one side of it should not dig into your door. Line up your bolts and then screw in locks to door and plates along frame. Done. My wife finally thinks I am a stud! "Wow! Nice job!" I figure I will be able to milk this for a couple of weeks, but she has more task lined up.

Sound, solid and secure. Easy to install and soo much more secure than previous lock. Looks great too!

Really nice door hardware. I think the picture doesn't do it justice, and in real life it actually looks better. And it works well, Schlage always has just a little tighter tolerances so it just feels a little more accurate and sturdy than the other brands. And not that much more expensive. Wife is happy so I'm happy! :)

Everything was great about the product very easy to install the only question was why do we have the same keys for two different sets

Exactly what I wanted. Looks great. I installed the reinforced striker plate with the long screws (under the regular plate). Door is very secure now.

After 7 years, these exterior knobs and deadbolts look HORRIBLE! Clear coat has yellowed and is starting to flake off. They look more like tarnished brass than satin nickel! Interior knobs and deadbolts look good as new, but I would never recommend these because they simply can't handle the weather, despite being behind a storm door which should help protect them. I will be purchasing a different brand to replace all three of my door knobs, $150 wasted. Purchased and installed July 2007, picture taken June 2018. (Please excuse the little finger prints, kids use this door to go outside to play.)

The door was professionally installed, I did not hear him cursing or see him throwing a screwdriver so I guess it was easy to install.

Excellent product and easy to install. I didn't have a key for the old lock and preferred what I bought for the Schlage keyway and overall performance and security.

The outside of the deadbolt looks horrible and needs to be replaced

Fair price, installation fairly easy.

I used to buy a different brand and they kept breaking which I no longer use. This is a great product. We've had them in our current house for 18 years and are put them in our new house now.

Quality and price of products

The assembly was difficult, when installed it would not lock the dead bolt from outside, only unlock it. Could have been user error but it difficult anyway.

The threads weren’t clean and the phillips srew head’s had slag in them.

This was easy to install and I love the look and the smooth operation of the door knob and dead bolt lock. This was installed about 3 weeks ago and we loved it so much we bought 2 more to replace the other locks on all the outside doors!
