No need for special tools, torches, messy primers or glue. Very easy to read and understand instructions on the back of the package. Simply measure and press the coupling in place. You can even turn the coupling after it is pressed on to connect the threaded side. It is that easy. Another great feature is the ability to easily disconnect them using a small plastic tool that looks like a "c". I recommend buying one of the tools just in case you need one. They are sold seperately. I have rental property and have been using them for more than 3 years without a single problem. SharkBite couplings are extremely easy to use!

This is another fine SharkBite product that I have found helpful for installation in tight places. Please note that this fitting is used for Schedule 40, 80, and 120 PVC and Schedule 40, and 80 CPVC pipe ONLY for the slip on connection. The threaded end is 1/2 in male National Pipe Tapered thread, the standard thread used in general plumbing. The slip on end works well, with no leaks. It is difficult to start onto the PVC unless the end of the pipe is tapered with the SharkBite reamer tool. A lap or two of thread tape on the threaded end and tighten for a leak free connection. These fittings are great time savers and high quality.

SharkBite is the best brand name when it comes to press on fittings. This one is designed to fit on pvc, cpvc, or copper pipe (1/2") and it makes a male pipe tread (MNPT) fitting. This threaded fitting is not for hose connections, but threaded pipe fittings. It's easy to use, just push the fitting over the pipe, make sure you go all the way, and it's ready to use. In a pinch you can do it to a pipe that is spraying out water! The fitting will freely revolve around the pipe, but that doesn't affect the water tight coupling. If you want to take off the fitting, you can purchase a small inexpensive tool that looks like 3/4 of a circle that pushes in the locking mechanism and the fitting comes off the pipe, clean, and can both can be reused again. In fact, I have used these fittings and a union where I use the special tool to open the piping. Worse aspect is the price and it's bulky compared to regular fittings.

Extremely easy to install as long as you have the proper length to make sure that the fittings are secure (follow instructions). I have used several "Shark Bite" products and they have all been very good quality and I have never had a leak. Makes adding water lines a breeze. Especially ideal in situations where sweating a pipe isn't possible or safe due to the surroundings.

Wow did this make my life easier! I have a shower I needed to repair. I wasn't looking forward to replacing the copper pipe, but I've used PEX before and knew what to expect. I ended up ripping out all the copper and using PEX. With this connector it was a snap! Teflon tape on the threads, tighten it to the shower valve and push in the PEX. This job took minutes, not hours!

The fitting worked as expected and no leaks.

I did some work on polybutylene pipe failures back in the 1980s and in the 1990s. The pipe of the future became a nightmare for people so I did not jump on the PEX bandwagon even though it has stellar history beginning in the 1990s as an alternative to copper in the heating and plumbing industries. I am now a convert, this time it is done right, super easy to use and much less expensive than copper..

Ordered this part for a 1 in pex pipe and noticed it didn't fit. Had to return to the store. Read the part description carefully to avoid making the same mistake. Got the correct part and it worked great!!

When I was re-plumbing my water pump because my new construction plumber was only familiar with city water systems and I became the plumber/ owner/ builder I used many Shark Bite fittings to attach to PEX and copper. Silver Solider and a Map gas torch may be fun to some, but I avoid them when I can. PVC Shark Bites were not available even a couple years ago. PVC and PEX is affordable, copper pipe and fittings are not anymore. Back then it was a challenge to transition between copper, PEX and PVC pipe as there was only the tan color ring Shark Bites. Now plumbing repairs or construction has become a "bite" easier with these white ringed fittings. Now lead-free available and more common.
