SharkBite Push-to-connect PVC transition fittings are the fastest way to transition from PVC or IPS (iron pipe size) pipe to PEX, copper, CPVC, PE-RT, or HDPE pipe. No soldering, clamps, unions, glue, or special tools are required. Simply insert the pipe, and the teeth bite down and grip tight, while a specially formulated O-ring compresses to create a watertight seal. The fitting has a white-collar for the PVC pipe and a tan collar for all CTS (copper tube size: PEX, copper, CPVC, PE-RT, HDPE) pipes. Changes can easily be made by rotating the fitting after installation. Removing the fitting is just as fast using a disconnect tool so fittings can be easily changed or reused. Designed with stainless steel gripping teeth for a secure connection, a chlorine-resistant O-ring for a long-lasting seal, and backed by a 25-year warranty.

Answer This Question
A:Â Hello,
The SharkBite 3/4 in. Push-to-Connect PVC IPS x 3/4 in. MIP Brass Adapter Fitting could be threaded into cast bronze as long cast bronze has FIP threads. It is not recommended to connect cast bronze to brass because of two dissimilar metals can cause corrosion. If you have any more questions you can contact tech support at 877-700-4242. Kind regards,
by|Mar 12, 2021
A:Â If the cast bronze has the same size threads as this sharkbite fitting, it can be screwed into it.

I & my plumber friends have been using this style of connector for a few years now and we love them! No more carrying around a tank of gas, no more worrying about catching something on fire, no more flux & solder....you get the idea! I keep a bunch of different connectors in my truck and I'm in & out in sometimes a quarter of the usual time. In my area we have a lot of acid in the water & older homes and I'm always getting calls to fix pinhole leaks. This style of connector is cool as you don't have to make sure every last drop of water is out of the pipe before making the connections like when soldering. They are a god send in crawl spaces!
The instructions say not to use a hacksaw to cut the pipe.. I love that they are brass and the acidic water doesn't effect them like copper & that they are removable, so if there is a leak further down the line it can be removed to add a longer piece of pipe.

I love these SharkBite fittings. They are so easy to use. Just cut the pipe to size to fit the installation location. And just about any type of pipe you want use. Whether it is PEX, PVC, copper; there is a SharkBite fitting for it. Push the pipe into fitting, make sure it is seated, and then it is connected. These fittings make it very easy to transition from one type of pipe to another. This one allows you connect threaded pipe to PVC. They also make the job go a lot quicker. And no leaks.

The SharkBite PVC Connector 1/2" is such an improvement over soldering joints. The easy of installation makes the job easier to plan and modify if necessary. It provides a water tight seal, yet allows the waterline to rotate inside if necessary,
The Sharkbite fits so well you need only issue was removal of the connector, it fits so well you must purchase a removal tool. The cost of removal tool is only a couple bucks.
Overall very good product. I will use this type of connector on any future job.
Worked great used it for my new shower installation.

The product is great. However, the section where the fittings are was in a state of disarray. I bought a fitting that was marked "PVC" but it did not fit 3/4 inch PVC. The package was marked "PVC" but the sleeve was tan not white. I had to return the product and purchase online.
