Well built with a few nice features
I go through at least a couple pair of these in various sizes every year or so. My last pair that didn’t make the loaded trip were from a discount tool store and suffered catastrophic failure. I saw these in a picture and was impressed by the plastic material covering most spots that kill your hand while using them. The order was placed. They came very well packaged and quickly. The details: made by X Ratchet, Smart Strap product line. They have a 1k lb. load rating and a 3k lb. break strength with a 10’x1-1/4” high visibility orange webbed strap. The ratchet has an oversized rubber coated aluminum handle and release making it easier to adjust the tension. The case they arrived in is not just packaging, it is also a nice way to store them in if you choose to. There are loops sewn into the strap end nearest the coated S hook so you can attach the S hook to the strap loop as an anchor spot to a loaded item versus using the S hook. There is also a Velcro strap sewn on to hold the tie down wrapped up neatly when it’s not in use. Very good design features. I recently used them to secure a 450 lb. crate in the rear of my pick up for a 175 mile trip and my cargo did not budge. I’m very happy with these so far. Alway be careful where you run these nylon straps to protect the straps from sharp edges and wear. Inspect them regularly and do proper maintenance if needed. There’s nothing worse than putting yourself, your cargo, or someone else in danger from a lost or unsecured load. I will be adding a couple more pair of these in the near future.

just what I needed
SmartStraps RachetX tie-downs are useful even if you have a sports car. I got a netting package when I bought my car and they are great, but since I only have one car, often I want to transport items that the netting is not big enough for, or weighs too much. My car has the anchors for the nets that also work with the hooks on the tie-downs. The back of the passenger seats have sensors in them and I was warned when I took delivery that I should use caution with what I store in the hatch area because if the load should shift, it could damage the sensors. These are going to be great for terracotta planters and other strange items I transport. The storage case that is included is cool for keeping the tie-downs organized and it even hangs on my pegboard in my garage. I got the chartreuse and if you need weights while walking at night-these will work. :)

quality set of tie down straps
these are the best looking light duty tie down straps that have ever had, they seem to be a high quality product that will last for a long time if taken care of properly. they are 10 feet long, have a 500 pound safe working load and a 1500 pound breaking strength. the ratchet handles are aluminum and the S hooks are rubber coated so they shouldn't rust. they come with a reusable case that makes it easier to store and keep them organized. i plan to keep them under the rear seat of my truck so they will be available for use when needed to secure any materials in the truck bed or my utility trailer. i am impressed with the quality of these straps and i don't think you can find a better product in this price range.

Great ratchet straps
What a sturdy pair of ratchet straps. They are good for loads up to 500 pounds and have a break strength of 1500 pounds. They come as a 2 pack in a reusable storage case. The green webbing is highly visible and it has a wide comfort grip. It is made of high impact aluminum good for high stress and has large head hex caps. The securing strap and soft tie loops ensure security.

Strong, Easy to Use, Pre-threaded
This is my second set of SmartStraps. I bought a smaller set last year to hold toolboxes in a truck on a long trip. I liked those and I really liked the look of these. These are pre-threaded, which is great if you don't use this type regularly and great if you do. They're ready to go. I really like the thicker aluminum handles and grips. Tightening and loosening is a breeze. The hooks are rubber coated to protect from scratches. If you have any length left over, you can fold it over and use the strap to keep it together. The extra long webbing allows you to get to the hard to reach areas and gives you enough length to protect. These are great for bigger loads where you need the length and strength. These are perfect for motorcycles, boats or anything big. They have soft-tie loops for those delicate areas, like on a motorcycle. The ratchets are 16 tooth gearing so you can get it tightened done just right and the ratchets are Zerust anti-seize ratchets. This is the nicest and easiest set I've used.

Well-Made ratchet strap but the velcro has to go
I really like these orange ratchet straps from SmartStraps. They're 10 ft long and are rated at 3,000 lbs. They're simple to use and strong. The only thing I really don't like about them is the velcro strap that comes with them. The velcro is attached at the end of the strap that has to be threaded through the ratchet mechanism so it's extra bulky and a tight fit. Also, they aren't perfected sewed-on so the edges of the velcro catch on the slot making it rather irritating to deal with. It also binds up when you're trying to take the strap all the way out. I cut my velcro off because I don't really feel like it's a necessary feature. Aside from that, they work great.

Nice set with a carrying/storage case
14 ft. RatchetX Tie Down, Green (4-Pack) are one of the best ratchet strap set I’ve ever run across. The pack comes with a reusable carrying case which makes it nice to keep them organized in your toolbox. The ratcheting mechanism is made of aluminum so they won’t rust. The hooks on each end are rubber coated so they won't damage your tie down item. I also think the straps are priced correctly.

Work well
This review is for the SmartStraps 10' 3000 lb RatchetX Ratchet Tie Down 2 Pk Orange. It seems that one person can never have enough tie down straps (as I come to learn over the years). This set is well made; the stitching is good and should hold up for some time. The ratchets move easily and I like that the straps are pre-threaded. Actually there are a few nice features on these straps and the price is reasonable.

Strong Quality Ratchet Tie Down (2-Pack)
It is June and Hurricane Season in Florida again and I wanted to be prepared for a possible storm and have new tie down ratchets for securing my boat to the dock. The SmartStraps Ratchet Tie Down (2-Pack) is a great choice to own. The strap are 10 foot by 1 inch wide, heavy duty ratchet and are bright orange in color. The package states they have a 1,000 pound work load and a 3,000 break strength. The ratchet has a padded D-Handle shape that give a great grip. The strap has an integrated Velcro wrap for storing the rolled up strap in the reusable storage case or tying off excess strap when in use. These straps are perfect for tying down items in trucks and trailers when moving furniture, large boxes and appliances. I like to use ratcheting tie down straps from my boat to the dock to keep the boat from swinging in high winds.

Solid Construction, Bonus Features
I frequently use mechanical ratchet straps to tie down trailer loads and secure outdoor furnishings for the off-season or during storm preparation. Here’s what I think of this 4-ratchet strap product: 1. At 14’ long, these were useful to secure large loads to my 6’ x 8’ stake trailer. I also plan to use them to gather large pieces of lawn and garden furniture together during storm preparation. 2. I like the release pull “bar” located at the ratchet handle. It is easy to grab naturally using three fingers to rotate the ratchet to a fully open position (see photo) which then allows the user to release the strap tension. Note that it is important to pull any excess strapping through the ratchet first, before tightening the strap with the ratchet, to avoid binding. Likewise, to loosen the strap requires pulling the release mechanism on the ratchet, to move the ratchet to a fully open position. Then the strap can be pulled through the center of the ratchet by holding and pulling the ratchet lever away from the hook end. 3. Excess strapping is easily gathered and contained using the small hook/loop fabric tether attached to the end of the strap. The tether is also useful to secure strap for storage. 4. A loop fabricated into the strap near its end is useful for attaching additional straps, guide-ropes, or tethers. 5. The set of four ratchets/straps/hooks fits neatly within the plastic case designed specifically to hold this product, making it easy to store and to find when you need it next. 6. My visual assessment suggests this is a nicely fabricated, and well-designed product. The ratchet has closely spaced teeth on both sides of the device, and a dual spring-actuated release lever. The ratchet operates with audible clicking precision, and the strapping has 2” of threading at the end of each strap to secure every binding to the metal hooks and to the ratchet. Releasing the strap takes a bit of practice, so users might find it helpful to try a “dry run” by tightening the strap and releasing it where the ratchet mechanism is easily accessible. Bottom Line: This is a well-constructed product, that appears designed to survive the elements and provide long-term use. It has some useful built-in features such as hook/loop tether and an extra loop, both integrated into each strap. The storage container provides a handy, compact way to neatly store the devices. I would recommend this product to a friend.

Awesome ratchet straps
The smartstraps ratchetx ratchet tie downs are very well engineered and manufactured and have some great features and upgrades over other ratcheting tiedowns. These tie downs have rating of 1000lbs and breaking strength of 3000lbs with a s hook on them with 14' long orange web. The ratchets feature a nice wide handle for easy use of the ratchet mechanism and access to the release lever inside. The ratchets feature a nice anti seize coating and washer so they won't rust or bind on you when left exposed to the weather.

3 of the 4 straps broke on first use
I bought these and on my first use I used 3 of the 4 and all 3 broke. I made it home and noticed they were shredding. Next morning they had ripped apart. Took them back but couldn't get a refund only a trade for the same one bc that's all they have. Pic is one of my new straps, only used once

Straps are great, Home Depot’s willingness to resolve issues, is the one star. Customer service has cratered in the last 12 months. Sad, I used to strongly recommend them, can’t say that today.
