This was a great buy. My daughters and I decided to have a hot pot party and it was amazing. The food quick and evenly from both sides. We used to different flavors and they did not mix. The plain was on it side and the hot was on its side throughout the entire cooking experience.

Thanks for choosing Sonya Hot Pot. The stainless steel pot is the individual pot which is detachable from the heating base. It ensures it will not harmful to the health. Gentle reminder, it is normal to have a burning smell, the smell on the first use is from a protective coating of oil that is used during the manufacturing process. The smell will automatically faded away after the couple time's usage. Recommend you to run the first try by boiling the clean water, you can add few vinegar into it.

I have used this twice and it's been wonderful both times! No leakage from one side to the other and it's perfect for hot pot. It is a bit loud when the water is heating up but that doesn't bother me too much.

This hot pot is great in every respect but one and that is the heating element is thermostatically controlled. In other words the heating element is cycled on and off at full power with hysterisis about a temperature set point. So when boiling soup it tends to either boil too much or not enough.

We love this machine! If you are interested in having a hotpot with your friends or family, this is the machine to get. It is fully electric, so no gas necessary! It boils water in ~10-20 minutes. You may need an extension cord, since the cord is short. We highly recommend this for ~2-6 people!
