I have bought them for several years and have been happy with the results. I don't have termites or ants.

I don't think there is much bait in each cartridge....
I don't think there is much bait in each cartridge. I had 1 to popup and there was a group of the smallest ants I have seen. If they ate the bait and caused the sensor to extend, there isn't much. That being said, I believe they will work as sensors and one could treat with something less expensive for the square footage area.

Terminated Termites
The spectracide stakes started working right away. Now I only see a couple termites here and there and they seem sick. Before the stakes, they would swarm.

Poisons the earth
If you care at all about the planet, do not use this product. I have removed all the stakes after observing all kinds of insects dying. this is toxic and I regret polluting my property.

Beware - False Positive
This product failed miserably. I purchased 25 stations. These are made with a cellulose product that is attached to a spring that pops up the indicator when depleted. After calling Spectracide, the stakes will fail if exposed to water. I live where there are periods of heavy rain and the clay in the ground tends to pool water. After the first good rain, 3 of the 15 popped. I saw no termite activity and replaced them. After every rain, the remainder failed with no signs of termites.

False hits
The bait in these is a material like cardboard. After enough rain, the bait begins to disintegrate and all the stakes indicate hits, although its likely none of them have hits. Get actual bait stations that you load with bait and then poison. Thats what exterminators use. This stuff is useless.

The stakes popped out after rain
Multiple stakes popped out and I got a scare that I had termites. I pulled the stakes out to check and the bait inside was wet and brittle. When I called the support line, they confirmed that the stakes can pop out after rain. That's a really bad design. I can think of multiple ways how the design can be fixed. I'll be returning these now.
