I've been wrestling with the traditional metal tree stands for all of my adult life. I refused to pay for a stand which cost more than $15. What a mistake. This stand is worth every penny. There is none of the aggravation of the metal stands requiring two people to set up a tree. You know, the person to hold the tree while the other tightens the screws. With this baby, you place the holder on the tree, tighten the screws, then drop the holder and tree into the swivel stand. The whole thing only took me 10 minutes. I was pretty luck in that the tree is pretty straight. However, once the branches drop, I see no trouble adjusting for perpendicular. This was the best money spent for a stand, EVER!

Great product. Removed the cause of frustration in getting the tree adjusted to the way I wanted it. Makes tweaking a dream. 60 seconds and your done and if you don't have it as vertical as you would like then 15 seconds to make everyone happy with no hassle.

Purchased an "8-9" foot Fraser from HD along with St. Nick's Choice... let me first start by commenting on the design... we nice, easy to use, self-explanatory... however! I HIGHLY do NOT recommend using this stand if your tree is dense and heavy and.... over 8 feet tall. Prior to setting the tree up, the directions state to tapper the tree bottom if the trunk is oversized to fit into the base vessel- I should have STOPPED right there and returned the dam thing! So I listened to my wife and continued... got it screwed in and inserted the vessel into the base platform. Looked good, but..... it wasn't straight. So I used the tilt - leveling mechanism to get it close to upright.... LOOKS GREAT FINALLY!! Sometime around 3 a.m. in to the next morning, I woke up to a large crashing sound.... Gee, thanks St. Nick!! So, in conclusion, I would only recommend this product for trees under 8 feet and NOT heavy weighted... Hope this helps! Notice our tree leaning next to the 8 foot bulk head??? It stands 9 feet from tip to trunk when correctly erected...

The product is pretty self explanatory. Very simple to use giving you a great satisfaction that you got something accomplished among all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. This is one task that you can look forward to with this tree stand.

I bought this brand when it first came out and have never been disappointed. We only ever needed 2 people to get this set up if we had a really tall tree. Otherwise I have been able to do it alone. Very quick every time!! If you report trouble in your review, you probably didn't get the boot on the tree correctly. I recommend this to everyone!

Great product- the one important trick I learned is to bring the tree base “cup” with me to the lot then have the lot attendant trim the base of the tree BEFORE I LEAVE WITH THE TREE! When we get home set up takes 10 minutes.

The stand came without the pins to secure the tree in the base.

It works great. This is our second one. Had the first one for over 6 years

The bolts that hold the tree trunk were missing making the tree stand unusable.

We have used these stands for years. Last year I broke ours. I was so happy to see that Home Depot had them available. Do yourself a favor, if you want to set up your real Christmas tree with no hassle, fighting, trimming,swearing or tears..order one of these bases. You simple slide the interior piece onto the trunk, tighten the 3 adjustable screws to hold the trunk tightly then tip the bottom of the trunk into the base unit until it clicks in place,slide the foot pedal out of the base and press down on it, adjust the tree into desired position, let go of pedal,insure base clicks again and presto..all done! I will never go without one of these stands.

Great design, makes set up easy. The one negative is it’s plastic. Be careful not to tighten screws to much as it will crack.

Holds nice and tight as you adjust the tree from being crooked. Nice and stable.

We followed the extensive instructions that came with the stand then tried for a long time to stabilize the 5.5 foot tree. No success. Very frustrating. We ended up retrieving our 20-year-old stand from the garage and secured the tree in it. We returned St. Nick’s tree stand To Home Depot.

Took me 25 years to find the best and easiest tree stand.

A water level meter would be great

The St. Nick's Choice Plastic Swivel Straight Tree Stand worked perfectly for us! Aside from that the order arrived earlier than expected which made us very happy. We were able to select and put up our tree the day after Thanksgiving!

This stand is the best. Put your tree into it, tighten it, straighten it to the position you want and kick the small lever piece back in to secure. Couldn't be easier!!

This is the best tree stand on the market.

Says it would hold a 10 ft tree and it did until we got the tree completely decorated and then the tree started leaning. We could not keep the tree from leaning and had to attach the tree to the window frame with twine and screws. My daughter bought the same stand and her tree was much smaller and she had similar issues. I feel like it was a waste of my money and next year we will go back to our old stand:(

Swivels as advertised, but one person?only if they are an octopus. Still had to tie top of tree to stabilize, just doesn’t feel completely secure once clicked into place. But it is better than one that isn’t at all adjustable.
