What you're describing isn't what we expect, as the head of the Duster can be locked in any of 5 positions. Locking the head should help you have better control when using the Extender. To ensure your duster stays on tight, we recommend checking to see that both prongs are inserted fully into the duster sleeves between the layers. We'd like to mention that we do recommend that you fluff the fibers before inserted the duster onto the handle. To do this, old both ends of the duster and quickly move your hands up & down in a see-saw motion (alternating up & down). You may also pull at the fibers to further fluff them.
