Received this today. Paint was gouged off of one handle and the U shaped bolt holding on one handle was bent and would not go into the assigned holes. In addition, very awkward to put on the chute assembly: need an especially large phillips screwdriver head with a very short handle in order to hold it steady and turn the nut at the other end. Called Toro today and sent them photos: they would send out the U shaped bolt but wanted me to take the snowblower to a local Toro dealer to get approval for handle replacement: this seems ridiculous AND the local dealer (In Brighton, NY) said they would not be able to get to it for 2-3 weeks! So, product received in damaged condition, with poor service from Toro. If I were you, I would think twice before a similar purchase.

First time using the blower and the wheel fell off. the push nut fell right off that secures the wheel. You buy a 6-700 dollar blower and they put dinky push nuts on it that dont even hold. I found the nut on the driveway after much searching and used a rubber mallet to pound it back on. After 10 minutes of use the next time using it the wheel fell off again. This time I couldnt find the nut and I had to use VICE-grips to keep the wheel on to finish my driveway during a weekend when 15 or so inches of snow fell. WHen I first looked at reviews before buying this snowblower( keep in mind I own two different TORO leaf blowers, a TORO string trimmer and a TORO lawn mower. IM a bit biased I admit) The reviews were SPOTLESS. AFTER researching this issue I find that there are many people with the wheel popping off. These come pre-installed from the factory with no direction in the manuals to pre-check then or even check tightness and you shouldnt have to when buying TORO product, let alone something that costs 6-800 dollars. It couldnt be more than 5 dollars to engineer to have a screw/nut hold the wheels instead( that would hold for the LIFETIME of the product). Just poor judgement. Looking at the people also having issues with restart after the first season makes me wonder if I shouldve chose the HONDA model instead.

OMG! This single stage is tough and surprisingly capable of the heavy lifting usually associated with powerful multi-stage machines. It's maiden voyage with me was over a foot of snow in New England (image included) and this baby cut through it with no problem. The greatest feature is perhaps its weight. It is not heavy and my wife loves to use it to clean up where she feels I fell short lol. I would recommend this machine to anyone looking for a versatile machine that can still handle heavy lifting when needed. The staff at Home Depot was also very helpful in explaining its different features. A must have!

This snow blower did everything it claimed and more, I have a large driveway and it blew a foot of dry snow with no problem! Starts first or second pull every time. I used the electric start once but it really isn't necessary it starts very nicely.

This Snowblower works above it's rated snow depth
We were just dumped on with 13" of snow overnight. The driveway had drifted to 20" and the street was closer to 30". This snowblower was rated by Consumer Reports at 10". I had no problem clearing the driveway and plowing through the snow in the street so I could get out to where the snow plow stopped. My only problem the first time that I used it was none of my extension cords allowed the electric starter to work. Fortunately the snowblower started on the first pull with my non dominant arm. Since then I purchased the Toro power cord and everything works great.

TORO POWER CLEAR 721E 21" OK WHEN IT WORKS
I researched this product and thought by buying a brand name and paying more I'd be making a better decision. Approx $579+tax+ expenses of renting a Home Depot truck. Exhausting and expensive experience. The product started up ok on first use but would not shut off when turning key to off position. I remedied by jiggling choke until engine turned off. I have no way of transporting this unit for repair or return so I've lived with it. Winter of 2015-16 was mild but product did work ok other than the turning off issue. Fast forward first light snow of 2016 and unit will not start despite proper prep. Disappointed? Beyond that. Did I mention I'm a 65 single lady with heart & other disabilities living on social security?

          Consumer's Was Right Again
I have to admit that I have yet to use this snow blower myself, but I have watched my husband through the window as he's used it at length during our record winter here in Boston. He wanted a two-stage snow blower, but I snatched this one up the morning before our first big blizzard based on the CR review. It is significantly smaller than the neighbor's machines, but the weight to power ratio means it has had no problem cutting through the piles of snow and spitting it out well clear of the drive. The 21" width makes it possible to clear between the edge of the driveway (a curb) and the cars. As claimed, it clears down to the pavement, which the neighbor's two-stage machines do not. This is far far lighter than the two-stage machines, so you don't have to be a hulk to maneuver it. Hopefully, the fact that I neglected to change the oil after the first 2 hours of use (it's probably been 10) won't kill the engine! I don't think this model would make sense for someone with a large, suburban driveway to clear because the width would require many passes to do the job. Otherwise, this model is fantastic.

          The little monster that could.
Very reliable and robust motor. I wish they used another method to secure wheels on. Cotter pin more reliable. Par none, this is the most efficient blowers I have ever used for its size. 35 ft blow easy on nice powder snow. Rubber paddles sweep and chop snow and ice. Right to the asphalt. Big does not mean better people. Get a Toro!!!

Very impressive and versatile snow blower.
I bought this snow blower at Home Depot the beginning of the winter. I live in the Boston area and in February, so far, we received over 6 feet of snow. Although it is designed to clear snowstorms up to 12" (which it does effortlessly), I was also able to clear 2-3 feet of freshly fallen snow, and even break down 3+ foot snow banks when needed by just taking it easy. It blows the snow every bit as far as the 2 stage snow blowers. While it has an electric start, I have never needed to use it, as it starts almost every time on the first or second pull with the choke. Because it is single stage, it pulls itself forward through the snow sweeping the ground, clearing much better than the 2 stage machines can do. It can also be easily maneuvered around cars in the driveway. There are also important other reasons I love this snow blower over the big 2 stage machines. It is fairly light and I keep it in the mud room, so it stays clean and dry when not in use and will go into the basement after the season is over. Also, I have 3 properties and it fits perfectly in my Honda Minivan. I just roll it up and down on 2 ramps using 2x10" planks which also fit in the minivan. This makes it very versatile, without sacrificing capability found in the 2 stage machines. Therefore, I feel for the majority of consumers this snow blower is a significantly preferable solution to that of large 2 stage machines. However, for those that regularly get more than a foot of snow at a time, have a large driveway (or the driveway is gravel), only need to use it at that one location, and you have a place to keep the snow blower protected in your yard, than a 2 stage machine may be a better choice.

Start cord broken after 5 uses
The fifth time I tried to start my brand new snowblower the cord broke. Looks like it was severed by rubbing on the plastic housing while I ran the snowblower the first few times. I've known nothing but quality from Toro and this is just unacceptable for a top line product. I couldn't have been more let down and unsatisfied by my experience.

This product is easy to use and handles an 8 inch snow with ease
We downsized to a condo but still needed something to handle our private courtyard and front walkway to the porch. I had a two stage snow thrower but wanted something smaller and could still do the job. The 21 inch Power Clear fits the bill. Easy to start, handles with ease, and goes through the snow as well as my old two stage did. The positive - easy to handle, pulls you along with ease. Fits in the garage out of the way next to the car. Very pleased with its performance.

Great snowblower for home use on paved or asphalt surfaces. I bought it to replace my 30 year old 2 cycle version, same size with Power Curve. Removes snow down to hard surface, throws most any kind of snow including ‘slurpee’ without clogging. Not having to deal with 2 cycle fuel (gas & oil) is great, no smoke, and the electric starter is very nice to have.

                    Be cautious
Put it together no issue very easy. On start up pulled the rip cord nothing. Did it several times nothing. Hook up the extension cord starts right up. I test it to make sure it works and after about 10ft it stops. I try next day because it was late and now it wont start by pull cord or extension plug in. It looks like it would work real well if it functioned.

Worthless Wheels ar Big Big Drawback
This machine is a typical Toro. It starts with one pull and does what it's designed to do. But, the wheels collect gobs of snow and won't roll. Not a problem when clearing snow with the sweeper blades pulling it forward, but when simply pushing or pulling the machine - even on completely cleared sidewalk - the snow packed wheels won't roll. It's the same pushing it in the garage. Snow stuck to the wheels prevents them from rolling. Cheap wheels. Wish I'd known before I bought it.

Great for light to moderate snowfall
Used it once so far. Push button start started right up after about 3 seconds turnover. Cleared about 8" of heavy, wet snow. It tossed the snow well, blades got jammed up a few times. After clearing them, finished the job in 30 minutes. It appears to be a well designed machine.
