[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The transcend line seems to be one of the better composites offered. The multi-colored tones and wood grain texture better mimic natural wood but it is more durable and has a much lower maintenance cost. You should pick this product if you plan on staying in the location you are installing it. The value of this product continues to grow the longer you are able to use it. You are more likely to get tired of the style before this decking needs to be replaced. I did a few tests with my sample and have included pictures with this review. The board was about 12” and approximately 2 lb 8oz. I took a picture of the top texture, and the bottom. I also included a photo showing the texture of the deck after taking 80 grit sandpaper and performing 30 swipes under moderate pressure, as well as slicing the surface with a razorblade. I used a deck screw through the surface to observe the puckering at the fastening point. Overall I’m impressed with this board. I would recommend getting the hidden fasteners because they don’t damage the surface and look very clean. As an added bonus, if you have the money for a curved deck, this board can do that. You can use this board for most applications/ creative applications.

I used the Trex as a base for a gazebo installed on my patio. I counterbored the anchor bolts from below using 1.5" Forstner bit, I also routed some corners to ease the sharpness after the cuts ( I mitered the corners for the base). The Trex allowed me to screw the screen channel down without having to drill and anchor in my brand new concrete. I like that Trex is water proof and will not rot. It cut and drilled nicely. I easily routed channels to allow water to pass under the material when it gets inside. The color & woodgrain texture looks fantastic and worth the extra for the higher spec Trancend ( as is having the full 1" of thickness to work with for my use. My wife and I like it so much we are planning to "deck" the inside of the gazebo with Transcend to make the space an even nicer outdoor living room - we are in Houston. I was able to buy the boards in 16' lengths which was also a big plus as there are no seams.

It seemed very easy to clean after I put juice and pop on.it. I tried stabbing it with a knife and dropping a brick on it. No damage. I'm definitely going to use this material for my deck this summer.

I have to say before I could even open the box it was soaked by rain and snow, which was awesome b/c it showed me it could weather the elements! The color is amazing and how sturdy it is also is great. It has a 25 year limited warranty on fading and staining and I love the fact its 95% recycled material.

We live in the North and get alot of snow, not sure how this would be to walk on with the ice and slippery conditions we get. It's very thick not a flimsy piece of decking.

The weight of the trex board was heavy and I feel like it would maintain its integrity for a very long time period. The color was beautiful and the grain in the Trex looks like real wood and is very comfortable to step on.

This board from Trex Trancend protects against rot, warp, splinters and termites. Plus, Trex composite decking is backed by a 25-year limited residential fade & stain warranty, so the color you see today is the same you’ll enjoy for decades. These boards are made with 95% recycled materials which makes them eco friendly and a fact that I love! I also love the look of woodgrain and the durabilty of this product. I do believe I have made my choice and can not wait to see this on my decks!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great sample of decking that I would purchase in the future. The board is heavy, seems quite sturdy, and looks well made. The inside looks like composite, and the coating is what I believe is the wood look material. I walked over this with bare feet as well, and it didn't provide the feeling of splintering that sometimes happens with real wood. I love that the color was permeated throughout the whole sample piece. My only concern would be that the decking has exposed composite, if it were to be cut, would this composite rot or become stained? The color was also very nice. It was chosen as a compliment to my home's exterior. It matches quite well.

A little pricey for what it is. Warranty isn't as good as it first sounds. Prorates quickly down to a low percentage of the cost, then they can also pay you with boards vs cash. So if a large portion of your deck does fail they may send you 40% of the boards necessary to fix it. Also note, boards are heavier than traditional wood, much more flexible, and not 100% defect free. So carefully check the boards you buy for lamination defects (thin veneer, debris in veneer, ect), bulging or other issues. Finally, these boards are not very tolerant of scratching. Moving deck chairs or other items can easily leave visible scratches. So you need to be extremely careful not to scratch the deck.

Home Depot shipped the wrong sample so I called their customer service. I have to ship the wrong sample back, wait for them to get it, wait for them to process it, then they will ship the right sample, then I get to wait some more. Super inefficient. Order samples directly from Trex instead.

Still hasn’t arrived (is late). First order was 5 weeks overdue. Terribly confusing nomenclature and product labeling (online) by vendor. Very disappointing. Meaningless replies to clarification request by vendor. Only: “delayed in shipping”.

The Trex composite has a nice texture and varied color in the premium line. Not as nice as real wood obviously. However we chose composite because we didn't want to worry about staining and upkeep over the years for a small but very weathered area. The dark color, we chose Spiced Rum does absorb a lot of heat and can't be walked on in bare feet when in direct sun. It does cool off quickly though once the sun moves

Worst decking product ever. Fading pealing of product. I would never buy this again. Now have to tear it out and out in redwood decking. What a waist of money.

i'm done now with the front porch and i am disappointed i'll never buy the 20' long boards again - lot of crooked ones, very hard to work with the hidden spacers are nice, however the screws breaks sometime (i used an impact driver) overall, this is not what i expected from a premium priced product HD or the manufacturer does not deliver, which would be a nice perk at this price i have to think about buying the shorter boards to do the back porch or rather try the competition

Dimensions were not accurate to match older boards, both in width and thickness. Only by 1/8” but enough to be noticed.
