Disappointed. Glad I got the sample.I thought the color went all the way through the composite material but it doesn’t. The color is just a thin outer coating on three sides. I looked at store stock. A lot of it was warped and scuffed. Going to use treated wood and opaque stain instead of Trex

Hello, We’re sorry to hear the product didn’t come as expected. When Trex transitioned from early generation decking to new generation decking the Trex deck board advanced by now offering a three-sided, high performance outer shell that was developed for increased performance with the same durable composite core. The new generation decking lines with the colored outer shell now offer superior fade and stain resistance with our 25 year Limited Residential fade/stain warranty. Stain and fade performance is needed only on the top surface of a deck board; the sides have been fully encapsulated purely for aesthetic reasons, and then the board ends and underside remain uncapped for drainage and airflow. For aesthetic reasons you can paint or stain the board ends with any paint or stain designed for wood, however it is not necessary. Hope this helps! Thanks, Tori - Trex Customer Care Team

I just built my a new home and used Trex, Transcend, Spiced Rum. Me and my family have never been happier with a deck. It is absolutely beautiful, easy to keep clean and always looks perfect. I think I have sold all of my friends on this product. If anyone is thinking of buying this - DO IT NOW!

2017 Trex Transcend Failure/Problems
Our 2017 Trex Transcend decking is (18 months later) swelling, flaring and speckling due to rain and sun exposure. Trex warranty only covers boards - so it’s going to cost me an additional $4000 labor for tear out and replacement. Just stick to wood decking!! Trex has two previous class actions and they are still not ready.

Nice Color!

SOLID AS A ROCK
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The color and texture look very much like wood. It's a very pretty product. I would imagine it will wear quite well. It does scratch (like wood), but the scratch doesn't have much of an impact on its appearance because it's the same color all the way through. The one possible negative is its weight -- very heavy. Which will not be a big deal for new construction, but having the proper support for an entire deck of this product would be something to consider when replacing a wood deck.

Amazing Product!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] On my adventure of trying to find the perfect material that I would like to have a deck made out of, I came across Trex decking Transcend Island Mist. I was impressed by how heavy it was. That it was made out of recycled materials. Living in Maine the winters can be harsh, so I took my deck board sample and placed it outside with snow, and ice. I was impressed that I could scrape solid ice off of it and not see any real deep scratches.. I even took the board and put it under my car and drove over it about 10 times. Living in an 1850's farmhouse we are always looking for products that make our lives easier. Less maintenance is always better as you are always fixing something. Trex makes a top quality product, virtually maintenance free, and reasonably priced and in a variety of different colors. If you have not tried it you really should!

This will be such a nice deck for your backyard or front patio or porch that will WOW all that see it. I highly recommend this product. It has a nice look and feel to it. The color is just right for my liking. It appears it would be easy to assemble due to the side grooves it has. It is quite heavy in weight. I would definitely purchase in the future and recommend to family and friends.

From drab to Shab
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow...better than what I thought. I can wait to start on my new deck! These boards are well made and are reasonably priced. They are thick, water resistant, easy to install and made to last! My deck is going to be my new favorite place to be. I love the color I choose. (The have several to pick from) I am sure that though out the years I will have to repair and replace things in my house but my deck will not be one of those.
