Excellent function and easy install. Will need a 2nd person to hold gate while hinge is being installed. But this is normal. Also closure tension is very adjustable. Shipping was right on time as stated. I have it installed now for about 3 weeks and performs exceedingly well.

Good product. The same as original installed on my fence a few years ago. They have a heavy duty one, but was too big for my app. Happy with his size.

Fit and works great easy to install

These hinges were a perfect solution for our deck gate. They were easy to install and function just as we hoped they would.

No complaints with product, excellent for my application, issue was with return of 1 extra hinge pair. Product SKQ# not in HD system so return process took a little time but, was handled in very professional manner AND most importantly to my satisfaction.

Not suitable for wood gates. My small picket fence gate was too heavy.

Just installed these D&D self-closing hinges on a gate on my privacy fence, and am very impressed with them. When I initially took them out of the package, was surprised to see the bodies were made of a polymer type of material, and not steel-- so rusty hinges shouldn't be a problem in the future. They were relatively easy to install, and the directions made the job a snap. They also provided good directions on how to adjust the tension on each hinge, so you can set the self-close feature to your exact needs. A very nice feature! These hinges have some heft to them, and I soon realized they have some real strength as well. The pair can hold up a 66-pound gate. I'd recommend these hinges for any type of gate, be it wood or metal.

This hinge set replaces those on a metal style gate. They are medium duty, plastic hinges with stainless steel self closing springs inside. The only difference between these and the wooden gate model is the screw hole distance from the hinge pin to the attaching holes. It's closer when for a metal gate with only two holes compared to the three on a side for wooden gates. The nice feature is that the hinge set does not require lube and shouldn't attract sand and dust.

Do not use these in any application where they may take an impact. I bought them for use in a semi-portable industrial application and one of them was dropped from 3-4 feet and broke immediately. If they're mounted to a fixed location and cannot get bumped or hit by anything, they may last forever...... Very disappointed, but I knew we were trying them in an unorthodox application.

These are large very strong hinges.They will support a larger gate. I used them on my sagging gate that I had made a few years ago. It is a wooden lattice gate approx. 45" x 45". They were easy to install and I found the spring adjustment an added bonus.

These are good quality hinges FOR a metal gate, but they are not metal hinges. They should be fine as long as your gate is within the 66 pound limit specified by the manufacturer. The self closing action is adequate to swing a decorative gate and can be adjusted to close the gate gently, or more firmly. A determined toddler would probably be able to pull the gate open, so consider adding a latch. The small footprint of these hinges is appropriate for a metal fence and gate. If yours is vinyl or wood, you'd want larger ones.

It seams like everything is being made of plastic these days. These hinges continue the trend. The look sturdy, and have been holding up under the cold weather. I t will be interesting to see how well the hold up under below zero weather. (Next winter...) I am using the hinges on a 4' gate. I am not sure if I would use them on a 6' gate. On the other hand, you can adjust the tension of the closers for the weight of the gate, and how hard you want it to be to open. I am willing to have it a bit harder to open, so that the dogs can not pull the gate open, while still allowing me to puch it open with my arms full of packages. I like that you can do the adjustments without having to remove the hinges. You just turn a slotted plug. There is one on the top and the bottom of the hinge, so you can adjust from the top of bottom. So you don't have to worry about what end of the hinge is up. The hinges are holding up well, and working fine. It did take some time getting the closing tension adjusted the way I wanted. You have to make sure you adjust both the top and bottom hinges at the same time. Otherwise the gate tries to twist when you push it open, causing things to bind up. After using these, I am going to have to find some for wood gates.
