I used varathane to finish my wood flooring and it came out amazing. We hired "professionals" years ago and they did a horrible job, left many streaks. So i took it upon myself to get on my hands n knees and hand sand the bad spots on the flooring and went over the rest very lightly. Vacuum debris then wash floor with vinegar. Next day i started to finish the floors with a regular paint brush, laying on the floor, on my stomach. I did 3 coats of high gloss, let each coat dry for 1 full day. It took a total of 5 days to complate from start to finish and they came out beautiful! 4 years later and my floors are still like new!

Product was easy to work with and dried relatively quick.

The Golden Pecan Classic gives the wonderful hues of pecan wood. I really appreciate it's tones on maple or even pine. Easy to work with. No special "tricks" for this stain.

This stain is a great color but when I bought it, I read on the label to see if it is outdoor stain or indoor stain but nowhere on the container did it say interior or outdoor stain. Now that I am doing a review the title says "interior". I used it outdoors on my bird feeder post. Hope it holds up! I love the color and did not see any outdoor or indoor labels. I don't usually by Varathane brand, and I guess I won't be buying it again.

The smoke gray matched for our project perfectly.

If you're looking for a weathered or farmhouse look on pine board, this is a good stain to use. I put it on blue pine in a bath remodel and it came out great.

Golden oak is Darker than expected, gave a “dirty” look to the ash/pine wood I was using. Summer oak gave nice warm yellow tones.

Love the color of this stain. Bought it for a headboard project. Wanted to do the whole headboard in it, but the wifey wanted it to be mismatched, so guess which we went with? Stain goes on easy and dries fast. Would definitely recommend Varathane stain and sealer.

After a few coats it was the perfect shade of Walnut.

I bought this color Ipswich Pine, to match some existing cabinets in my kitchen. The wood was Red,Oak unfinished, so I applied a pre-stain first and then 2 coats of Varathane Ipswich Pine stain. It covered beautifully and looks great. I did finish with 1 coat of satin clear coat.

Great stain and easy to apply

Hey folks, I am so disappointed and blaming myself how come the color of Weathered Oak Classic Wood Interior Stain does not match with the picture as represented on the can label. I purchased this product and surprised very much with the result. I feel so stupid with this work bc the color is ash-gray color but NOT as represented. Can someone tell me so I can correct myself and my own thoughts on these types of mister please? Or is this a wrong labeled item? Could Homedepot even solve the issue?

It’s a good stain. Used on a coffee table, end table, and TV stand made out of birch butcher block. Make sure you use some pre-stain conditioner on any softer wood so your finish doesn’t turn out blotchy. I used 3 coats applied with a rag. The photo included is slightly lighter looking in the photo than in real life, but close enough to give you an idea of what it looks like after 3 coats.

The finish came out great and I'll purchase again. No complaints and went on easy!

I love all of Varathane's stains

Turned out to be red not brown. Used for wedding decor that was not replaceable. Wanted to cry after seeing actual color.

We did all as stated on the can. We followed the directions of use. Instead of light brownish as it is in the picture and as it was on the sample of the wood we tasted it came out RED color. We had do to all from the beginning and used BEHR.

I love the color! I stained my daughter's bed for her new apartment, and it is beautiful! Now it matches the table that she had made. I is a little sticky, but I painted outside in the humidity.

I have always used this stain. My house is filled with woodwork. I have decided to remove the carpet from my stairs . I am sanding and staining them with this beautiful color. It has truly added some elegance to our home.

Goes on smoothly, dries quickly.
