Customer Reviews for Wagner Flexio 3000 Electric Handheld HVLP Paint Sprayer

I am writing a review since I was really torn on buying this product, but glad I did - however, after extensively using this I think it's better suited for certain projects and needs to be diligently cleaned. We used this sprayer to paint 5 metal outbuildings including a barn on our 'fixer upper' farm property and feel we got immense value from it! I also used this to paint the interior hayloft white, and used it for some stain as well. The larger nozzle works really well - however, it's not perfect and can spatter, leaving a less than smooth finish. I think this is great for projects that don't require an ultra-fine finish - outbuildings, etc. I wouldn't use it for things like cabinets, or maybe even interior paiting. I had no luck using the fine finish nozzle at all, and only used it unsuccessfully once. It is critical that you clean it well, and at the end of cleaning spray water through it to really clean it out. It takes about 20 min to clean, but it will get gummed up and perform poorly if you don't so take the time.

Use it with the paint you want on junk wood until you figure it out. I've used it on a few projects and paint thickness is always a factor on how it's going to work out. CLEAN IT WELL EVERY TIME. 1 star reviews just didn't use the tool as intended IMHO

It did ok. Even after the second coat I didn’t get complete coverage like a brush or a roller. But I covered a lot of ground fairly quickly. I may need more instructions on how to use it.

This spray gun worked the first time I used it but I rolled around to use it the second time and it started sputtering paint on my projects I do not recommend this product so don’t waste your money

My first use for this was to paint a wooden bench. Took about 45min from setup to breakdown. I used the detail nozzle and the spray was even. I used 2 coats of paint and used a poly to finish it off (all water-based). I was surprised it could spray poly with no problems. I thinned the paint with 20-30% water and poly also to the same consistency. Love that i didn't feel any fatigue even after 15 min of spraying unlike spray cans that make my hand hurt 5 minutes. Took off a star because cleaning requires a lot of water. Also make sure to clean the nozzle between coats so the paint doesn't dry out and clog the nozzle. One last thing - strain the paint thru a mesh/sieve to catch lumps before pouring in to the can and lightly sand the furniture before painting. Easy to set and use. P.S: Cant add more than 1 photo on the Home Depot iOS app. Had to do it on the desktop browser.

I didn't think this would work but it did. I've never used one before but it was really easy to put together. It handled my tin ceiling very well getting all the nooks and crannies. it took about an hour to do the entire ceiling and all it needed was one coat.

We fiddled with every setting, looked up YouTube videos to see if we were doing something wrong, took it apart and reassembled, and could not get this thing to work. It looks like someone painted our walls with a cheap can of spray paint. We spent the better part of an hour trying to get it to work and another 40 minutes trying to clean the dumb thing so we can return it. Huge waste of time and got more done with a roller than this sprayer. We should have read the reviews before purchasing because it looks like others have had the same problem.

We did everything as the instructions said. Nothing work, after 45 min of trying and investigating, we gave up. Its very heavy and doesnt spray like all those videos we saw. And cleaning it was not fun. It also used a lot of paint, more than i thought and at times it left some areas really wet???? Hard pass.

This sprayer was very easy to use. I painted a wood deck/playhouse white with patio/deck paint. I would recommend playing with your output before using to determine desired coverage. Also, put a rag on your shoulder before use because you will need to wipe the nozzle often to remove paint buildup at tip of nozzle...especially if working outdoors. Overall I'd say its a good value item for do it yourselves.

Works just as advertised. I read the 5 star and the one star reviews. I was skeptical, but purchased. This is the first time I used a sprayer and if I can figure it out, you can. The directions were very clear, (I read them twice). If you follow the directions, it sprays very well. I sprayed 8 interior home doors with Latex Enamel Sherwin Williams paint. The chart says that you do not need to dilute the paint. That is true for the ISpray nozzle. I sprayed one door with it and the coverage was great, but it did do an orange peel finish. I didn't want that finish so I re-sanded that door and sprayed with the Detail nozzle. It says N/A for the detail nozzle with latex/enamel paints. I spoke to the people at Sherwin Williams and also Home Depot. Both said in you use a thinner, enamel will spray like an oil base. I bought the small bottle of thinner, had the guy at SW put it in the gallon (1 oz./gallon), and mix it for me in the machine. Worked GREAT !! The nozzle did not clog, the finish was cabinet grade, and the doors look awesome. I only used about a 1/3 of a gallon to spray all 8 doors. You do need to wipe the nozzle periodically to remove dried paint from the tip, but I only had to do that 3 times in a couple of hours. (There was some time in between each spray). Spray time for 1 side of each door was only 3-4 minutes. Clean up was easy with a water based enamel. They say cleans up in 5 minutes. It took me a bit longer than that, but I'm meticulous about cleaning my tools after a job. I read some reviews that said it was clogged and would not work the next day. I don't think they took the nozzle completely apart to clean. (EASY to do by the way). The directions are clear and easy to follow. I used an old toothbrush and a small tipped screw driver to clean it. There is a brush in the box as well. All in all, VERY happy with the purchase. You won't be disappointed if you simply read the directions on how to use it and clean it.

Very easy setup! I was able to finish my paint job in a fraction of the time it would have taken me doing it by hand. The easy clean up alone is well worth it.

Easy to use !! The prep is longer than the painting !!! The clean up take time as the paint spills from the plastic placed in. But otherwise great sprayer.

I had to stain 72ft of fence. I rolled half of it and thought there must be a better way. I did the "newbie" practice with water thing, then stained some old fence boards before doing the real job. After getting power cord setup and stain (BM semi transparent) I did a section in a minute (6'x8') Clean up is easy. My wife wants to color the backyard now. Very happy.

I have a Magnum X5 paint sprayer but wanted something smaller without the lengthy cleanup. I read a lot of great reviews on this before purchasing. I’ve done a lot of work with paint sprayers and this is, by far, the worst I’ve used. Based on other reviews, I thinned the pain a little (even though the description says it’s not necessary). No matter what I put the settings at it spits as it sprays which looks like a cheap apartment spackle. This is NOT a smooth spray like I’m used to and I now need to sand and paint my project again. I’ll spend way more time with that than it would have taken to clean out the full size machine. I’m a female with large, strong hands and the iSpray nozzle is so heavy and bulky I had to put it down after 10 min of use. I was excited to have a smaller, more convenient unit but I’m disappointed with this machine and will be returning.

I was quite dissappointed in this spray gun especially going into it thinking that Wagner is a reputable brand. It will not spray any latex paint off the shelf without any thinning contrary to what it claims. While spraying thinned paint, the sprayer is inconsistent. Most of the time, it will spray either nothing or an extremely fine mist like an airbrush. Randomly, it will spray paint in clumps. The nozzle is constantly clogging. Ive tried multiple nozzles, paint viscosities and power settings. All in all, it took me 3-5x longer to paint a room compared to a roller. I cant speak for oil based paints but for latex paints and primers, this sprayer is a no go.

Amazing product. Used it on an old hutch. The spray is great. Easy to use, easy to clean, and saves so much time.

Bought the Flexio 3000 to paint popcorn ceilings throughout my entire house. I’m extremely disappointed and frustrated. It works great for about 30 minutes, then all of a sudden it’s spitting paint all over the place. Settings are the same through the whole job, paint has been thinned, sprayer is at no more than a 45 degree angle and 6-8 inches from the ceiling. I’ve got to cover the floors and walls to protect them since the spitting paint happens without warning. I won’t even risk using this on the walls.

I purchase this roughly a month ago and I refurbished some bedroom furniture and was extremely happy with the results!

I was applying a Spar Urethane with a brush on some new wooden shutters I built for our home, and it was taking forever. Perhaps as much as 4 hours for each coat. I was able to cut that time to ten minutes with this applicator. Loved it and it worked great!

Bought it to paint a couple of cabinets that had a dark stained finish. Never sprayed anything before (without using a can). The learning curve with this is very quick. Obtained a flawless, smooth, new cabinet, finish! I also like that this is really easy to clean. If I had any criticism it would be the retaining fitting for the nozzle - if you are not careful you can cross thread it. But overall..., so easy to use a monkey, such as myself, can achieve a professional looking result.

I will start saying when I make this investment was with skepticism and many doubts. But after the first 5 minutes of use I already love it and knew I wasn’t coming back to rolls and brushes. I have children ages 1-6 and a lot of white walls inside the house. Yeah, stains and crayons make the painting or retouch of some walls an every 6 months thing for me. I wish I could have more before and after pictures to show the amazing job the flexio 3000 gives for me. I manage to paint a 9’x15’ wall in minutes with less than a 1/4 of gallon. Instant time saving and paint saver. Regarding the cleaning it takes less than 20 minutes to clean and dry really fast with the same air it creates and a help of paper towel, which makes it excellent in the case you need to change color. Thinking on a paint roll I don’t want to invest more or that Evelis tool, I believe you spend more money in water by try to clean it that actually tossing it to the trash even when you buy good ones like I used to do. My only suggestion is, when painting in corners with different colors add 9 to 12 inches in cover to avoid the splash touch the other side. It happened to me on First day but wasn’t an issue since I was planning to paint the roof also. Enjoy your journey, you won’t regret the purchase.

I received it a couple weeks ago and used it to repaint my garage before having a contractor epoxy the garage floor. The Flexio 3000 is easy to set up and use. You do not have to thin the paint, just fill up the container and get to spraying. The clean up is easy as well. This sprayer offers great coverage and it's much faster than using a roller or brush. It comes with a small detail nozzle and tank for trim and smaller projects, and a bigger tank and nozzle for the walls. You can adjust the pattern, material flow, air flow, and spray pattern which helps eliminate over spray and wasted paint.

Received as a gift and started using right away. Never used a spray gun before, but this was almost foolproof. Ended up doing the kitchen cabinets and the wife is very happy!, so much so I also did my sister in laws kitchen. Both ended up great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After getting the sprayer I’ve been able to complete multiple projects in the short time that I’ve had it. Wish I got it sooner! Re-stain my fence that needed to be stained before I bought the house, repainted several pieces of furniture, and it took a quarter of the time that it took me to do some of these projects by hand. Therefore I did spray over some thing I had done without the sprayer. With better results.

I bought the FLEXiO 3000 to spray our kitchen cabinets. To practice we painted bathroom cabinets and they came out great....like factory finish. This was our first time using a sprayer. We are now working on our kitchen with more confidence. We only wish that the detail sprayer paint flow knob had numbers like the larger unit so it would be easier to keep track of the setting. We mentioned it to our friend who then went out and bought one to spray their deck.

I had researched this sprayer for a while and purchased this summer to re-stain an expanded deck and for future use in staining a cedar fence. The instructions are clear and thorough. Very pleased with the operation and paint/stain delivery.
