I liked to look enough of this low profile microwave to justify spending the extra money compared to a traditional unit. Now that I’ve been using it for 3 months there are a few little things I wish were different. The time buttons are high enough that for me (5’5”) that they are sometimes difficult to see. It would be easier if they were back lit. Also, there is no add 30 second button, which comes in handy. With the microwave floor being higher, I have to be careful getting liquids out. If I had to do it over I’d probably get a regular size.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this eight months ago. I have struggled with the turntable, not staying in place constantly. The white cog in the center that anchors the turntable constantly comes out. I have gotten burned from hot liquid, sliding over to the door and my opening it before being aware, this is a very bad design. It is too high up to properly access if you are not at least 5‘10“ The under microwave lighting is very poor LED. Visibility into the microwave is poor Due to it being so high up and short. It randomly adds 30 seconds. I do not recommend this product.

This compact microwave helped to clear up a lot of counter space, and it works great. The number pad being behind the closed door takes some getting used to, but it's not a big deal. Including a couple of pics missing from the product description and other reviews. Hope they help someone trying to determine if the unit will fit their kitchen.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One month in and I’m loving my Whirlpool microwave! This over-the-range microwave is perfect and exactly what I needed and wanted. It replaced a 7 year old, regular depth one that left very little room to cook a large pot of soup on the range top. The 400cfm fan works very well and all controls are like touching a smartphone. Another bonus, this unit can be wiped off without engaging any settings. My second favorite feature is the touch to open door (no handle necessary), which means I don’t get shocked every time I open the door. Love it! ps- I have one more finishing touch to apply to cover part of the wood panel, then all will be perfect.

It’s finally up and it looks beautiful! I highly recommended it, it gives you more cooking space below it because it’s a low profile. I love it!

Pros are that it heats and cooks well and I'm very happy with the added space above my cooktop. Cons are that the exhaust fan noise is much noiser that my previous microwave (also a Whirlpool) and the alarm sound is very, very quite. In fact, with the fan running, unless I'm standing within a few feet of the microwave, I can't hear the alarm. With the fan off, I can barely hear the alarm in the next room, about 20 feet away. Apparently it's a "known" problem, but hasn't been fixed. Now I mostly use my smartwatch or smartspeaker to set alarms if I intend to leave the room.

I replaced a standard-size microwave that left too little space between the top of the range and the bottom of the microwave. The low profile configuration really opens up the space. I like the styling of the unit and it is easy to operate. My only complaint is the the range light on the new microwave is a bit dim, even at the brightest setting.

I love the microwave but it barely lasted a year. The clock is loosing time and the number pads are now hard to push so you have to push several times to get the ones I use to go on. Sad they couldn’t make a better product because everything else about this microwave is great.

This is my second model of the same microwave. The microwave breaks within two years. The paint started peeling within 8 months after purchase. I’ve never seen worse quality microwaves. Stay away!

I advised my neighborhood client to purchase this unit to solve the issue of trying to use extra large pots for their gumbos! This unit solved the problem and works great. They love it! I installed the stainless steel backsplash to cover up where the old microwave was located and to give the kitchen a finished look. Perfect!
